Gettr had a big day Sunday. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted on the Jason Miller-led social media platform after her permanent ban from Twitter, and podcaster Joe Rogan directed his Twitter followers to the site, too.

“Just in case sh– over at Twitter gets even dumber, I’m here now as well,” he wrote on Gettr, which was founded by the former aide to Donald Trump and is increasingly popular with right-wing users.

Rogan’s account on the site features numerous crossposts of his existing Twitter and Instagram content.

On Twitter, he has about 7.8 million followers, so his push toward the new platform was notable. His “Join me on GETTR” tweet got over 10,000 retweets in less than 24 hours and prompted cryptocurrency guru Bryce Paul to respond, “RIP, Twitter.”

Twitter permanently suspended Greene’s personal account on Sunday after the Republican congresswoman violated its COVID-19 misinformation policies for the fifth time. Her official Congressional account is still active, but its most recent post was made on Christmas Eve.

Greene was briefly suspended for a week back in August for the same reasons. “We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy,” a Twitter spokeswoman said in a statement.

“When Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala and Ilhan can bail out rioters on Twitter, and Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics, Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” Greene wrote later on Gettr. “That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.”

Former Trump adviser Jason Miller’s social-media app Gettr has seen more than 1 million new users sign up in the days after podcast superstar Joe Rogan joined, The Post has learned.

Gettr, a Twitter alternative that has been attracting conservative social-media users, hit the 1 million mark on Friday morning, less than a week after Rogan made his first post on the site on Sunday, according to company figures exclusively shared with The Post. That brings the site’s total number of users to more than 4 million, according to spokeswoman Ebony Bowden.

Rogan still maintains a Twitter account but said he was joining Gettr due to concerns about censorship after Twitter banned Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene on Sunday, claiming she had repeatedly shared vaccine misinformation. Ahead of the ban, Taylor-Greene tweeted that “extremely high amount of covid vaccine deaths are ignored” and called for the Food and Drug Administration to not approve coronavirus vaccines.
“Just in case s—t over at Twitter gets even dumber, I’m here now as well. Rejoice!” Rogan wrote in his first Gettr post.

The wave of signups included 343,000 on January 3 alone — the site’s biggest one-day number since it launched in July. Gettr did not pay Rogan to join the site, Bowden said.
Joe Rogan joined Gettr after Twitter banned Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene for coronavirus misinformation. The Rogan bump marks a much-needed victory for Gettr after Miller failed to woo Donald Trump, who instead said in October that he plans to launch his own site called TRUTH Social.

Yet TRUTH has so far been off to a rocky start. Trump’s team said a test version would come online in November before a wider release in the first quarter of 2022, but multiple bare-bones test versions of the site have leaked online, leaving hackers and journalists able to scoop up Trump’s own username, as reported by the Daily Dot.
TRUTH’s floundering has left Gettr able to make inroads with would-be TRUTH users. Other conservatives including writer Jordan Peterson, political commentator Dave Rubin and New York Post columnists Karol Markowicz and Salena Zito have also joined the site in recent weeks.

Gettr faces competition from Donald Trump, who is launching his own social media site called TRUTH Social. For conservatives, the site’s main selling point is its looser content moderation policies. Gettr says it allows all points of view about politics and vaccines, including those that fact-checkers at other sites would flag as false. However, the site does not allow overt white supremacy and recently banned white nationalist “Unite the Right” organizer Nick Fuentes.

Gettr is also expanding overseas. As of Friday, the company said it had 2.2 million users in the US, followed by 500,000 in Brazil, as well significant user bases in the UK, Germany and France. By comparison, Twitter has about 78 million daily active users in the US and 206 million worldwide.

“These numbers are proof that social media users are starting to wake up to the increasingly heavy-handed censorship of Silicon Valley executives and are hungry for alternatives,” Miller told The Post. “We welcome people from all ideologies and backgrounds to express themselves freely on our platform.”

I have joined up, not sure or convinced about the app tbh. I've re-posted (re-tweeted)stuff that I didn't usually do on Twitter. Haven't seen or suffered any censorship atm. I'm gaining followers a lot quicker than I do on Twitter. Does seem like a an echo-chamber every newcomer on the new app seems to be MOSTLY anti -vaxx & N.W.O narratives, haven't seen any counter arguments to this so probably will less impactful in spreading the 'truth'.

I will also disagree, with respect. Gab is so focused on being a right wing outlet which makes it an echo chamber. Gettr on the other hand is actively trying to attract an international crowd and people from the left and the right. And, it isn't all about politics!

I think if there is progress to be made in the world there will have to be intelligent people from all walks of life and political persuasions getting together and having a conversation.

I can't locate the details right now, but GETTR still relies on hosting services, app stores, payment services that all could be choke-points or strong-arm points for info not liked by these tech powers.

** I was falsely flagged by A.I. Algorithms (connected to "3rd party" corrupt & biased 'Fact Checkers' sites) and/or it was done by a "Woke-NPC" on Facebook multiple times even lost my original Fb account with 10,000s of suppressed news posts and over 300+ videos.

When I lost my original John Kuhles Fb Account in 2017 connected to big Fb Groups & Pages I created I had to create a backup account ... this worked only temporary as they eventually figured out who I was.

Then I decided to buy a new cheap mobile phone in a different city where my mother & sister lives and used a brand new laptop never used on internet I created yet again a new Fb account with different IP different location different computer and different email address ... this worked perfect ... after a month I tried to login on my own location but still using a new computer and had no problems anymore to use my 3rd backup Fb account.

Nevertheless I still can be targeted by certain individuals false flagging and/or A.I./corrupt "fact checkers" ... this happened over 9 times last 4 years and I had temporary in "Fb jail" for 3 days, 7 days, 2 times: 30 days etc with my current Fb account.

Last 3 official Fb warnings/notifications normally would lead to "30 days punishment" or even a permanent ban ... I only clicked on: "disagree" and they told me they were "understaffed" for a human to check if my flagging was legit/correct.

Not much later, to my pleasant surprise SOME human Fb Admin apologized and reinstated my full access again (i made screen-snapshots of this) ...

Now the kicker: this positive news for me happened not once not twice but three times last 3 months ... Meaning some human fb admins may be on our side now
