I find it hilarious, that when doing "Canadian humour" many people, usually Canadians, talk in the "Canadian accent".

That accent doesn't really actually quite exist. The closest would be the Newfie (Newfoundland) accent, from the north east corner, but the "Canadian accent" really is an accent all its own, created just for the purpose of signifying Canadian specific humour, or dialogue lol.

Here's a real newfie accent - I can hardly make out anything this guy is saying, lol ... (@47 seconds)

Hi Dee. Enjoyed these, especially the Newfies’ and the frozen car clips ones.

Worked with some Newfies here in Alberta, these were smart but confrontational even in joking. Forebearance due in my receding memory, because different culture and obvs lacking self esteem due to minimal schooling. Good guys, but I didn’t talk their talk.

About the frozen car, my trick is to keep (outside the vehicle) a 1litre (quart, anybody) squirt bottle of winter washer fluid handy. Couple minutes, might need some scraping too (keep scraper outside too), you’re in. Thankfully I have remote start to get things going.

Self-deprecating humour is the best humour. ~8D

Why is this in the 'Humour' Section?
As an Englishman...I can't see anything wrong... A group of men dressed in Cricket outfits, playing what looks like 'English Bowls' using Hula-hoops instead of bowling balls.

Blimey those Newfoundland accents in the other videos on here reminded me so much of English when spoken with a strong Irish accents!? Only understood about half of it!

Strong Irish is the base of the Newfoundland accent, I guess it's where a lot of the Irish settled when they came over back in the day. If you got half of it, you probably got more than me, lol!

Lol! The best of Canada memes was the best!!

I myself am guilty of barbecuing on the back deck all winter - and sometimes in shorts. There was one night last week where I had a bunch of burgers, but didn't go out to cook them - too much snow coming down at that moment.

At first i thought that was some kind of middle eastern language or some dialect from that area

Wasn't all that difficult for me, was actually quite amusing and interesting to hear. This Newfie accent, having a slight Gaelic twinge (Irish, Welsh) has many hallmarks of our 'West Country' dialect/accent here in the UK - especially as spoken by the older folk.

Unravel some of this if you can
