The Big Business t-shirt reminded me of this one:

I remember talking with a friend in San Francisco who was in a bunch of punk bands, and when I put these guys on he said, "You can't do that to your sound," as if he was offended by their distortion and playing at maximum density, as if there were rules you had to follow when playing music. I also remember visiting friends and my brother in Washington in the 90's as a lot of fun, it wasn't until I moved there later that I hated it, everyday some smartass painted the sky gray and then thought it wise to immortalize the town's drug problem with a giant needle with a flashing red tip. p.s. no offense meant to any rednecks by the posting of this post.

Yeah, I saw them play with Mudhoney at the Crocodile and talked with Jared when he was selling shirts and cds, so many good shows at the Croc. Grunge, funny time in music, and did funny things to that town, your last vid reminded me of godheadsilo, saw them in LA:

These guys caught the tail end of that movement and were pretty tight. Hard to believe that was 30 years ago, time keeps rollin' along is right. Peace.

Anyone else notice that this man has no sheet music? Playing entirely from memory. Absolutely insane.

Lot of what I'd call Shoegazing or Dream Pop if I wanted to be modern. But no, it's Lofi Rock? Whatever. I'm too busy staring at my shoes using minimum effort to swing my arms to the music.

    • Sting - Shape of My Heart (Official Music Video):

    • Lyrics:
He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
    He don't play for respect

He deals the cards to find the answer
    The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of a probable outcome
    The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

He may play the jack of diamonds
He may lay the queen of spades
He may conceal a king in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You'd maybe think there's something wrong
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one

Well, those who speak know nothin'
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear are lost

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart
    • Shape of my Heart - Dominic Miller 1993:

Great band with Mike Lindup of Level 42 on keys. Excellent!

"Shape of My Heart" is a song by British musician Sting, released in August 1993 as the fifth single from his fourth solo album, Ten Summoner's Tales (1993). The song was co-written by guitarist Dominic Miller and features harmonica played by Larry Adler. It was used for the end credits of the 1994 film Léon,[2] starring Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman, and within the 1993 film Three of Hearts.[3] Despite failing to reach the top 50 in the UK upon its release, it has become a pop classic and one of Sting's works most closely associated with his solo career. It has since been sampled in many tracks since its release, including "Shape" (2003) by Sugababes and "Rise & Fall" (2003) by Craig David. Ann-Margret sang a cover over the opening credits of her 1996 movie Blue Rodeo [4]The song's guitar riff was also sampled by Nas for his track "The Message" in 1996 and interpolated by Juice WRLD on the worldwide hit "Lucid Dreams" (2018), on "You’re Mines Still" (2020) by rapper BLEU and in "Parkstone Drive" by Russ.[5]
    • Sting and "Shape of My Heart" Piano Version by Konrad Orlowski:

    • 2CELLOS - Shape Of My Heart [OFFICIAL VIDEO]:

    • Sting - Shape Of My Heart - Acoustic Only

No autotune, no nothing, just a guitar and a microphone. This is music.

Sting has excelled himself ... He is not just singing - he is painting the song, he is knitting the song, he is living the song... Bravo!

    cheers,
    John 🦜🦋🌳

Absolutley love the Cure's Robert Smith. He's so down to earth. He once helped me out carrying a really heavy old TV (40" cathode tube generation).
If you ever meet him in person you would realise he's built like a tank nowadays, yet a gentle hearted lovely guy.

Ok, I know we're not supposed to dwell on the negative, they've been brainwashed, we have to help and all that sh!t, but I have to say this would've made a great new national anthem the last few years...
