The twenty-sixth film: The Story of Xing Fu

    https://www.viki.com/tv/38275c-the-story-of-xing-fu

He Xingfu (played by Zhao Liying) married in Wanjiazhuang. At the wedding, his sister was humiliated by "marriage trouble". In desperation, Xingfu injured Wan Chuanjia, the son of Wanshantang, the village party secretary. One wave after another, a health care product factory was built in the village, and the farmland of the happy husband's family had to be requisitioned. Xingfu gave birth to a child with hemorrhage. Wanshantang organized villagers to donate blood, which saved Xingfu's life. Xingfu is very grateful. Unexpectedly, the report letter she sent before attracted the discipline inspectors. Wan Shantang became angry and fell ill, causing the anger of the villagers. The happy couple couldn't bear the pressure and went to work in the city. In urban life, where happiness and husbands are constantly at odds, marriage is a red light. Xingfu returned to his hometown to set up a homestay, which brought fire to the tourism industry of Wanjiazhuang. Unexpectedly, after the pollution incident of the health care product factory, Xingfu put on the shirt again, led the villagers to fight against the interest group bravely, and won everyone's respect and support.

I'm watching this TV series now. Nice woman! You guys can know some merits about Chinese women from it.

    The twenty-seventh film: Tie Lihua

    https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%90...A2%A8%E8%8A%B1

The play tells the story of an ordinary folk woman who finally became a patriot after going through ups and downs, starring Chen Shu, Wei Zi, Sun Qiang and others. Among them, Liu Tianci, played by Sun Qiang, and Fenger, played by Chen Shu, were childhood sweethearts. Unexpectedly, Fenger was snatched by the warlord Zhao Yuangeng (played by Wei Zi) to be the fifth concubine. The times, either close at hand, or separated from each other in the world, although they can't get married, they can't forget the bitter love of the century. A daughter born in a family of tomb robbers at the border of Shanxi and Shaanxi, in the turbulent years that spanned the war between the warlords and the Anti-Japanese War, she shared a legendary time with her relatives, lovers, friends and even enemies around her. The love-hate entanglement in the world, and her mental journey from a daughter of an ordinary family, to a concubine of a warlord, to an ethnographer who is determined to resist Japan.

I watch this TV play for about five times. I like the heroine very much. She is strong, independent and can fight with bureaucracy for freedom.

Thanks for posting this, Jena. I watched it last evening. It’s rated 7.6. There were many awards for the actors, director and movie.

    One of the summaries provided:
    Beautiful location, beautiful artist.

"The whole of life, already framed, right there." Maud Lewis (Sally Hawkins)

Maud Lewis was a pioneer of the Art Naïve school of folk painting flourishing all over, especially in Canada, and specifically here in Nova Scotia. The quote shows how natural her genius was looking out a window from her 10x12 foot home.

The biopic Maudie thrives on Hawkins' superior acting talent that superficially shows her deformed leg, her debilitation from arthritis, and her emphysema doomsday from smoking. Yet she radiates joy and a keen eye for the simple beauty of life. As she tells her husband, Everette (Ethan Hawke), she doesn't need much.

With no formal artistic training, Maud initially uses a finger to paint a tulip with vibrant colors. She barely looks back as she paints chickens, dogs, birds, and "things," all observed inside and outside the humble cottage on doors, windows, boards, and whatever.

The pain most artists experience in order to express beauty comes for Maud not just from her physical handicaps but from her husband, a rude fishmonger and wood chopper without a lick of humor. He begrudgingly allows her to sell her paintings and pockets the proceeds. However, he loves her in his own crude way and provides the home, albeit no more than two rooms, that spawns the art.

Cinematographer Guy Godfree captures the sweep of open nature that surrounds the town and the intimately colorful interior transformed by her art. John Hand's production design makes her cottage so meticulously authentic that you might wonder if he borrowed it from the Nova Scotia museum that now houses it.

Beyond the pleasant bio of a charming painter, the love between the two is one of the best romances of the year. It could be because theirs is hardly conventional or because Hawkins and Hawke are super actors. Or both. Love abides, and as Everett says, "There's me. Them dogs, them chickens, then you."

An angel tires of his purely ethereal life of merely overseeing the human activity of Berlin's residents, and longs for the tangible joys of physical existence when he falls in love with a mortal.

    Like this film a lot!

Do a lavish dance on the cliffs of death
To be or not to be.
In the last four weeks of holidays, I think she lived another life level that she could never experience in her entire life. In stark contrast to the rich, her heart is so rich.
The ending is beautiful, and the process is more luxurious, adventurous, exciting and meaningful.
She has experienced the extraordinary, but in the end she would like to return to the ordinary.
