Exclamation How killing wildlife in the United States became a game

    https://www.nationalgeographic.com/a...-became-a-game

The United States is the only country in the world where wild animals are killed by the tens of thousands strictly for prizes and entertainment, according to the Humane Society of the United States. It estimates that before the coronavirus pandemic, there were more than 400 contests annually, accounting for an estimated 60,000 dead animals each year. Texas alone holds at least 60 contests annually. Many competitions offer an array of wildlife to shoot, from raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, and groundhogs to foxes, bobcats, stingrays, and crows. Coyotes, widely considered a nuisance animal across the country, are the most popular target. (Some states hold contents intended to reduce invasive wildlife, such as Burmese pythons in Florida, feral hogs in Texas, and nutria in Louisiana.)

I find the whole idea quite sicking.

I suppose when you run an empire based on shooting the **** outta things, this kind of "culture" helps foster a love of shooting & the lack of empathy & psychopathy that goes with it.

Not that I'm against hunting for food or when certain animals with no predators become too numerous , ie wild boar in the vineyards of France.

If what NDE'ers say is anything to go by, all the harm we do in life to others we will ourselves experience from our victims point of view when we transition into the non-physical. I imagine everything from stepping on an ant to murder is included in this. Idiots who get off on slaughtering innocent animals are merely ensuring that their transition will be a much more uncomfortable one.

Not just the US. Before murdering animals for fun became "sport" in the US (and I fully agree: it's sickening), the British were wholesale annihilating every large animal that moved in Africa.

Also in India Bill - they annihilated the tigers. There's a photo of one of the royals with about 30 dead tigers.
