Default Prepare: Power outages coming to two-thirds of the US

Wall Street Journal May 27, 2022...

Last week American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) warned that 2/3 of the U.S. could experience blackouts this summer.

The forced transition to green energy is distorting energy markets and destabilizing the grid.

The MSM is really not saying much until the WSJ story... I wonder if solar power will be the only prepper option?

It looks like California will be the hardest hit state, especially if it experiences the wildfires that are common in the summer months.

I live in the Southeast and I already have a 7KW run/12KW surge generator that can run on LPG or gasoline, so our family is in good shape regarding electricity. I plan to stock up on LPG, which can be stored long term without the storage limitation that gasoline has. According to this site:
How long can you store a full propane tank?
Diesel, gasoline, and other fuels will degrade as they age, so, if you don’t use them, you lose them. Propane gas however has an indefinite life when kept in a good tank and proper propane tank storage is practiced.

A quality propane tank will last thirty years and with truly little possibility of anything going wrong, this makes propane a must have for emergency stand-by use. Propane tanks are available in the following materials:

Galvanized Steel – subjected to rust if stored in dampness
    Aluminum – does not rust
Composite Material aka carbon fiber – does not rust
The rubber hose and valve on a propane storage tank is the weakest point of a tank because rubber will degrade, and the valve may begin leaking. Propane gas will not degrade or go bad, it will simply leak if the rubber hose or valve become weak.

One does not have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a home solar system. Here's a nice little solar kit if things get really bad. Each kit comes with 4 solar panels, a controller, lights, connections and the kits can be combined with a connection device that can be purchased separately. Harbor Freight usually has all these kits on the shelf. These types of solar panels are amorphous panels, which means the can capture light on a cloudy or chemtraily day. So they are more efficient for cloudy areas than the usual panels that people have which are more efficient in sunny areas. They usually run about $200 per kit. I have ten kits now to connect together and plan to install them on the roof this year. I have a 3000 watt inverter for AC current with 12 volt batteries from Harbor Freight.

Yes we have been subject to rolling blackouts for years now in California. They choose a neighborhood, cut the power for a few days to a week, then turn it back on and roll to the next neighborhood. It is a real bother but we are getting used to it now. It is expected every Summer, and through other portions of the year.

Here's a movie, series, Mason & book covering the subject. Is the motive to provide a template for our minds so we can better accept it when it happens?

    Into the Forest (2015): IMDb
Quote After a massive power outage, two sisters learn to survive on their own in their isolated woodland home.

In a world that is increasingly dependent on electricity, a power outage seems like an awful predicament, as we can't imagine ourselves living in a world deprived of electricity. With this in mind, after a lingering power outage, a father and his two daughters will find themselves trapped in a completely different reality; one that will change their lives forever. But, is this outage regional, or does it affect the entire country? In the end--as these, and other, more crucial questions require an answer--no one can tell if the family has what it takes to survive; nonetheless, they will still have to put to the test their skills, their adaptability and endurance, but above all, find the courage to challenge the integrity of their familial bonds.
    Revolution series

Quote Revolution (2012–2014) is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction television drama series created by Eric Kripke. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future. Fifteen years earlier, an unknown phenomenon disabled electricity on the planet and effectively all devices powered by it.
This is from David Wynn Miller: Post #1. I don't recall the location within the 9.5 hour video.

A race called the Moise are depicted by the Easter Island statues. They're thirty feet tall and left a 300 mile long ship on Greenland some 50,000 years ago. It seems to be a refrigeration unit to increase biodiversity. Orma had the same motive when turning their Sirian flag ship into a vacuum to attract the debris around Earth some 65 million years ago Post #8. David said the Moise will return to Earth and place a dampening field around the planet with multiple ships preventing electron flow. That field is said to be presently emanating from the ship on Greenland. The genetic farmer races probably view us as a threat.
