Default US Army Embraces "EV Future" With New Electric Hummer -- Does this make sense to you?

The first thing an invading force does is to cut electricity and communications networks. (Russia did not do that in Ukraine which was a surprise). How will these EV vehicles be re-charged?

US Army Embraces "EV Future" With New Electric Hummer

    FRIDAY, JUL 22, 2022 - 11:20 PM
On Earth Day (Apr. 22), President Biden stated, "every vehicle in the United States military is going to be climate-friendly." He said, "we're spending billions of dollars to do it."

Months later, the U.S. Army bought a 2022 Hummer EV pickup from General Motors' subsidiary GM Defense, Detroit Free Press reported.

"The U.S. Army has bought one Hummer through GM Defense," said Sonia Taylor, GM Defense spokeswoman. She wouldn't reveal how much the Army paid but said the Hummer retails for approximately $108,700.

Taylor said that selling the Hummer is a 'stepping stone' to getting the service electrified. She added:

"We are trying to help defense and government partners transition to an E.V. future, so this is one of the steps.

"Our industry moves real slow. Slower than the commercial market. But this is a positive step in that direction."

The Army will receive the Hummer "no later than Aug. 31," Taylor said, adding she doesn't know what vehicle testing the service will conduct and where.

Detroit Free Press points out the Army's purchase description summarized in its bid:

"The purpose of this requirement is to procure a new light to heavy duty Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or series-hybrid electric wheeled vehicle, for Government analysis and demonstration."

Even though GM Defense recently rolled out a prototype eLRV, or electric Light Reconnaissance Vehicle, the Army appears to be receiving the civilian model (for now).

Biden's future "climate-friendly" military could be fraught with sacrifices, including diminishing warfighting capabilities, considering battlefields don't have convenient charging stations. It's possible EVs could be used in nontactical fleets.

The Army's going to have fun testing the new Hummer EV. It has more than 1,000 horsepower, and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque, allowing it to achieve 0-60 mph in 3 seconds.
Happiness comes from within, nowhere else.

Not a single atom of sense.

It's not only about convenient charging stations in the middle of a battle zone. (And the time taken to charge!!) Those would be the first things destroyed by an enemy. Unlike fuel tankers (or even barrels of gasoline or diesel), they're stationary and immovable. All this is woke lunacy.

And assuming this is also all about "carbon emissions", I wonder what the carbon emissions are from fighter jets, heavy bombers, UAV drones, the rockets needed to put military satellites into orbit, and thousands of missiles and artillery shells launched every day.

And, by the sounds of it, a battery life of about 15 minutes.

Well, it's a very good thing those, and the vehicles, will be totally impervious to tactical EMP attack....

A glaring error of judgement, lots of dead-in-the-water hummers lying idle with spent batteries, in combat conditions imagine the logistics of battery life...eehh

The commercial version of the GMC Hummer indicates that there is a fast charge available of 1oo miles in 1o minutes with a range around 3oo miles once fully charged. So figure about 1/2 hour to fully charge.

Diesel generators would be a back-up field charging option; but I cannot think of a primary option. [Which is self-defeating; but I wouldn't put it past the government. (in the spirit of 'military intelligence')]

Further, would you want to be in one of these things when it blows up with a huge battery in it? Nope.

They may make some sense [in the rear with the gear] and not on the battlefield. Moderation works in many forms. Many of the bases could use EVs for daily use that are not forward deployed. [Saving some resources for infrastructure that requires fossil fuels like ships and aviation.]
Irishness is not primarily a question of birth or blood or language; it is the condition of being involved in the Irish situation, and usually of being mauled by it. ~ Conor C. O'Brien [1917-2oo8]

I have no idea why this logic is followed, if it is followed at all, to me it seems like the only way (besides solar panels) to be able to charge some electric car in the "field". They were testing solar powered agregats but they're not efficient for military purposes.

Emp's would always present a problem in the field anyway.

The whole electric car thing of being charged by either coal or oil (diesel) does not make any sense to me.

Oyyyy, I didn't even think of the implications of EMP attack or the battery explosion issues.

Here is the comparative steps to charge up the vehicle.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE: . START >-> Truck Diesel To Vehicle >-> Fill Tank >-> Run Generator >-> Charge Vehicle
DIESEL VEHICLE: . . . START >-> Truck Diesel To Vehicle >--------------------------------------> Charge Vehicle

The woke agenda is surprisingly strong.

One of those times I wish there was a laughing emoticon as an option instead of "thanks" lol.

There is a LOT they don't make common knowledge of about electric vehicles, the main thing being that they only work in temperate climates, they don't like cold or heat.

The colder it gets the less the batteries work, and in the types of temperatures that are seen in the med, never mind the middle east, they would just shut down to stop them bursting into flames.....

Another way for a load of people to get on the gravy train, the US isn't going to have a military soon, just a woke virtue signalling PR machine & a huge inventory of useless machines, like the F35.

And DO TELL, these useless EV's stuck in mud, water up to the waazu in their batteries, etc., will be made in China, no less, USA checkmated again through advanced failure planning by Rockefeller Think Tanks/DARPA? All approved in advance by the "elected", paid-off folks of the communist congress.

How about using their NAZI manufactured UFO's complete with SCALAR LAZERS, maneuverable, cloaked and inter-dimensionally able to know the enemies immediate, future moves and be there when they arrive? Why the H**L are we stuck in the Dark Ages; and guess who has planned our failure to their own EVIL ADVANTAGE?

While I understand people are reluctant to accept this shift in technology, combustion engines are EXTREMELY inefficient.

The fact that the military still uses them is a joke.

People seem to think that they need to be "plugged in" to power to recharge, but worst case scenario the military could use a gas generator in the back to charge the battery, but thinking realistically the military has MANY classified energy generators and batteries.

Graphene based water batteries that charge themselves in 3 minutes in water are about to hit the commercial market.

What do you think the military has?
