Is it surprising that days after Serbia officially stated to stand with Russia tensions rise up between Kosovo and Serbia?

This article from July 26, 8 days ago, basically points out why the timing might be suspect on the Greed's machine part.

The Russian-Ukrainian war leaves Serbia facing difficult geopolitical dilemmas. Still officially a European Union (EU) candidate, the members, especially Germany, are Serbia’s top trade and investment partners. At the same time, no European country, except for Belarus, has been as pro-Russian as Serbia. Public opinion, a shared Slavic Orthodox identity, the Kosovo file, and Serbia’s dependence on Russian gas all contribute to the value which Belgrade places on its “special relationship” with Moscow.

A thorn in eye of the West that relationship with Serbia.

Serbia’s response to the Russian-Ukrainian war has added new layers of tension to Belgrade’s relations with many EU and NATO members. For example, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a planned trip to Belgrade on June 6, but three of Serbia’s NATO neighbors – Bulgaria, Montenegro, and North Macedonia – denied his plane access to their airspace. This move prevented Moscow’s chief diplomat from visiting Belgrade, prompting Russia’s leadership to lash out at NATO while calling for the strengthening of its “eternal friendship” with Serbia.

Viewing the Western Balkans as Europe’s “inner courtyard”, Western governments believe that Moscow’s influence in this part of the continent is dangerous. As Russia’s “proxy” state in the region, the U.S. and EU states believe that Belgrade and Moscow’s “special relationship” threatens Western interests, especially amid the Ukraine war. Some EU members have warned Belgrade that its current alliance with Moscow risks preventing Serbia from ever obtaining membership.

It is pretty clear that Serbia has to fall, it either falls in with European and US greed and false promises, or it will suffer the consequences, we all know how this might end up eventually, '99 is still a big issue in Serbia which is understandable, not taking anything away from Kosovo here.

On June 10, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a tense exchange with Vucic in Belgrade amid his tour of southeastern Europe. Scholz’s message to Serbia was that it needs to impose sanctions on Russia in line with the EU’s policies. “It is our expectation…that these sanctions will also be supported by all those who [see] themselves as EU accession candidates,” said the German Chancellor. Scholz went on to say that Belgrade must soon make a decision about sanctions, maintaining that “this is something that is best done not when [the war] is over, but when it still matters.

The above quote in relation to decisions and Serbia seems to me as a latent threat, if you think this will run loose, well, look at what's going on right now, yesterday the Greed machine stated that Kfor is ready to come and "intervene", yet another example of how rights are being taken away from People and when these People come into defiance, they're threatened to be destroyed because of standing up for themselves, textbook baiting. I wonder when this law was cooked up, if anyone has any info on this please share.

It will be challenging for Western countries to deprive Russia of its “proxy state” in the Western Balkans. Perhaps the EU giving Belgrade greater reason to believe that Serbia’s prospects for a quicker accession to the EU are improving might give Vucic’s government reason to downgrade its relationship with Moscow.

Yeah, I do not think this will be a viable option for the EU and Nato, I can't see any way here why Russia could not match anything the false promises which the West are throwing at the Serb govt. Why?

Western pressure on Serbia in the form of threats denying Belgrade access to funding and investment from EU countries could backfire considering that Serbia currently has no pro-Western or liberal party to serve as an alternative to Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party. “The rest of the Serbian political right might even be tougher [against the West] than the current Serbian government,” said Vuk Vuksanović, senior researcher at the Belgrade Center for Security Policy

Since Serbia has not yet openly been infected with fork tonged Liberals, it needs to be destroyed, simple "liberal" thinking at its best. They are doing it everywhere, if not by social media, it will happen by implementing illegal laws serving the happy few.

We all know that lies are the door to the hearts of the Brainwashed many, play the victim (western regimes) by screaming Wolf before anyone else knows what's going on, controlling the narrative and more importantly the way People perceive "truth" so one can be the so called victim.

It seems US playbook material, they always come at a weaker Nation, either bully them, like the schoolyard bullies they are, into submission, basically giving the keys of the nation to these corrupt and dangerous Socio and Psychopaths, or be destroyed.

The only thing left by the West is Bluff, there's nothing else there for them to hold onto anymore.

Anyone who's seen a good old fashioned Horror recognizes the scene in where the Demon is being pushed back while kicking and screaming, looking for a way out, killing everything it can before it's sent back to where it came from, is exactly how these so called Western "leaders" are behaving.

They want you to die for them so they can keep living on their precious private Islands and whatnot, rising seal levels eh, they simply do not care for you and they never will.

NATO peacekeepers remove blockades on Kosovo-Serbia border after days of tensions

Two border crossings between Kosovo and Serbia were reopened on Monday (1 August) after NATO-led peacekeepers supervised the removal of blockades that Serb protestors had set up over the weekend in a region existing with a fragile peace since the end of the 1998-1999 war.

Tensions flared on Saturday and Sunday after Pristina introduced reciprocal measures, stating that all Serbian vehicles entering Kosovo must display temporary Kosovo plates, and those entering with a Serbian passport must fill out additional documentation. The decisions resulted in protests and blockades from Serbs and even shots being fired at the Kosovo side of the border.

Kosovo police said the removal of the barricades in the north of the country allowed two border crossings with Serbia to be reopened.

“Roads are now free for traffic to pass. Both border crossings are open now for people and goods to cross,” the police said in a statement.

The removal of the barricades came after the Kosovo government postponed the implementation of a decision that would oblige ethnic Serbs, who are a majority in the north, to apply for documents and car license plates issued by Kosovo institutions.

The government’s decision to postpone followed consultations with US and EU ambassadors.

“Violence will not be tolerated. Those who use violence will be punished by the rule of law with the force of law,” Prime Minister Albin Kurti told journalists on Monday. He said that the decision to postpone would only come into force once roadblocks were removed. This led to several tense hours yesterday as blocks remained in place, and Pristina continued to implement its decisions.

Following the dismantling of the blocks, the situation remained somewhat tense throughout Monday evening, but as of Tuesday, no issues have been reported. Euronews journalist Kosovë Gjoci, however, was hit with a bottle on Monday while reporting from the Serb-majority town of Mitrovica.

But the lack of a solution means that on 1 September, a similar situation is likely to arise once again.

60 days to comply

Fourteen years after Kosovo declared independence from Serbia, some 50,000 Serbs living in the north use license plates and documents issued by Serbian authorities, refusing to recognise institutions under the capital, Pristina.

Late on Sunday, protesters parked trucks filled with gravel and other heavy machinery on roads leading to the two border crossings, Jarinje and Bernjak, in a territory where Serbs form a majority. Kosovo police said they had to close the border crossings.

The government of Prime Minister Albin Kurti said it would give Serbs a transitional period of 60 days to get Kosovo license plates, a year after giving up trying to impose them due to similar protests.

Originally due to be in force from Monday, Kosovo leadership said it will postpone the rollout until 1 September after having “held contact and meetings with American and European international factors.”

The government also decided that as of 1 August, all citizens from Serbia visiting Kosovo would have to get an additional document at the border to permit them to enter.

Belgrade authorities apply a similar rule to Kosovo Albanians who visit Serbia.

Last September

In September 2021, Kurti’s government required cars with Serbian license plates to acquire Kosovo-issued plates when they crossed the border.

Serbia reacted strongly by sending troops to its border with Kosovo and galvanising protests among Kosovo’s ethnic Serbs.

While the two parties signed a temporary agreement—with vehicles moving between the two countries requiring stickers on their license plates to hide country names and flags—they have failed to reach a permanent solution.

In June 2022, Kurti announced that from 1 August, there would be a 60 transition to having to replace the plates in lieu of another solution.

Albanian support

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama supported Kosovo’s decision to implement reciprocity measures with Serbia during a press conference on Monday.

“The events of yesterday reflect the difficult relationship [between Serbia and Kosovo], but the implementation of the agreement reached in Brussels is the right and duty of Kosovo, and I support the government of Kosovo 100 per cent, just as I congratulate Prime Minister Kurti for his sense of self-restraint and for listening to allies who suggested a postponement,” Rama said.

“The Government of Kosovo has the right and the duty to implement agreements and exercise its territorial sovereignty and independence,” Rama said while calling on Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić to restrain fueling dissent with ethnic Serbs in the region.

Kosovo planning to attack Serbs – Belgrade

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic accused on Sunday the ethnic Albanian government in Kosovo of planning to crack down on the local Serb population. He issued a plea for peace in the breakaway province, but added that Belgrade won’t stand idly by if ethnic Serbs are targeted for another pogrom.

The “regime” in Pristina wants to “impose on the people in northern Kosovo-Metohija things they have no right to impose,” Vucic said, using the Serb name for the province. He added that Kosovo police have been deployed to the administrative line with Serbia in order to confiscate Serb documents and license plates, starting at midnight.

“The atmosphere has been heated up, and the Serbs will not suffer any more atrocities,” Vucic said in Belgrade on Sunday. “My plea to everyone is to try to keep the peace at almost any cost. I am asking the Albanians to come to their senses, the Serbs not to fall for provocations, but I am also asking the representatives of powerful and large countries, which have recognized the so-called independence of Kosovo, to pay a little attention to international law and reality on the ground and not to allow their wards to cause conflict.”

Vucic’s comments came as Pristina prepared to implement a controversial law requiring ethnic Serbs living in the disputed territory to replace their Serbian-issued vehicle registrations with Kosovo plates, starting on Monday. Kosovo also may require the replacement of other types of Serbian-issued documents, such as identification cards, and it will make a renewed attempt to ban entry or issue temporary papers to travelers with Serbian-issued documents or license plates.

Church bells rang in alarm across the northern part of the province on Sunday, amid reports that armed ethnic Albanians were gathering for another pogrom of the remaining Serbs – as had happened in 2004.

The Serbian president claimed last month that the registration policy was part of an effort to force remaining Serbs out of Kosovo. He referred to the move as “a new Storm,” in reference to the Croatian military operation in 1995 that forced most Serbs to flee Croatia.

Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic told reporters on Saturday that “the Albanian side in Kosovo and Metohija is literally preparing to raise hell for Serbs.”

Kosovo’s prime minister Albin Kurti, an ethnic Albanian, has denied that the transition to non-Serbian documents is anything more than applying “law and justice” equally to all citizens.

In a video message, Kurti called his government “democratic and progressive, which loves, respects and implements the law and constitutionalism, peace and security, for all citizens without distinction and for our entire common country,” and urged everyone to trust his government and not fall for “misinformation” from Belgrade.

Vucic has claimed that “provocations” against Serbs living in Kosovo have increased since Kurti, a nationalist who champions the idea of Albanian unification, became prime minister last year. The number of such incidents, including attacks by ethnic Albanians on Serbian cemeteries and Orthodox churches, has jumped 50%, he told reporters on Sunday.

“We do not want conflicts and we do not want war,” Vucic said in his speech. “We will pray for peace and seek peace, but let me tell you right away: There will be no surrender, and Serbia will win. If they dare to start persecuting, harassing and killing Serbs, Serbia will win.”

Vucic also speculated that Pristina is trying to take advantage of the Ukraine crisis by provoking a conflict in which Kurti would be portrayed sympathetically as Kosovo’s version of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, with the Serbs cast in the role of Russia and President Vladimir Putin.

NATO occupied Kosovo in 1999, after a 78-day air war against what was then Yugoslavia. The province declared independence in 2008, with Western support. While the US and most of its allies have recognized it, Serbia, Russia, China and the UN in general have not.
