Kindness is compassion. Compassion is love energy in action, focused and directed to other entities. The opposite of love is selfishness, so it's pretty hard to fake (for anyone 'evolved' enough to discern the difference.)
You beat me to it, Dennis.

Yes, kindness is rooted in compassion and compassion arises in the absence of judgement.

    Ready? . . . AIM!

It is truly the aim of every living being. ( stumbling as we may be )

There will always be those on the wave behind, as well as ahead of us. Thank goodness.

We process the act all together as a single living being.

    A single living breath.

I'm copying this wonderful short video to this thread. It looks authentic, and assuming so, it's quite something else.

    A true human.
Everything the woman said was healing, kind and infitinely wise.
I liked how she honoured her mother with this teaching and practice
Kindness is its own reward (although $1000 does add some glitter to the story)

Be kind, because everyone you meet is fighting their own battle.

I met a young woman today, first ever one named Love (first name) for me. We crashed our cars together. No one hurt, including her ~2y.o. and adult male friend. Her SUV looked better than my minivan, and I was able to drive the 2 blocks home (will have to check how she did, but my steering was wandering and the wheel is cockeyed now parked).

It felt like a meeting from Heaven. All involved (me too) were peaceful and diligent/careful, with patience (kid made some noise at times, but otherwise seemed content and happy), including the cop who pulled up well before my 911 call was addressed.

I guess what makes this story jive with this thread, is how kindness includes everyday attitudes about how to get along with others.

Bumping this thread with a story I came across today on Quora and thought that the new generation might not be completely lost after all.. there is hope.

Mum moved to tears after son, 12, becomes online sensation for simple act of kindness

A mum has told how she was left in shock and brought to tears after hearing from social media about the kindhearted gesture her son had performed.

Twelve-year-old Olly Jones became an online sensation after a simple act of kindness saw him help out a shopper low on money.

The schoolboy, from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, had gone to his local shop in search of a bottle of the Prime energy drink, but while there he noticed a woman struggling to pay for a loaf of bread.

Kindhearted Olly "didn’t think anything of it", when he then used some money he'd been given by his grandma for good behaviour at school to pay for the woman's bread.

A local woman who had overseen the heartwarming gesture took to Facebook to post about the incident, writing that she had watched a “little boy hand her the money to pay for it”.

Olly's mum, Carly Inglis, 31, had been scrolling through her Facebook feed when she came across the post — which described how the boy arrived at the shop on a scooter with a bike-riding friend — and thought it sounded like her son.

She promptly rang Olly, who was staying with his grandmother.

The proud mum, a carer who lives near the Spar Olly went to, told North Wales Live: “I asked him if he’d just been to the Spar and he said yes.

“I think he got the shock of his life - he must have thought I was stalking him!"

Olly explained what had happened to his mum over the phone, she added: “Olly told me his nan gave him £5 after getting a praise card from school for good behaviour.

"In the store, he gave £2 of this to the lady to pay for her bread because he felt like she didn’t have enough money. He hadn’t mentioned it because he didn’t think anything of it.”

Is every mind connected to form a peer to peer network that creates the illusion of a shared reality, making the appearance of material reality a simulation created through shared beliefs?
