Thanks to tropical storm Kay we're getting rain in Los Angeles. The heat wave has lasted at least ten days and the shade temperature usually reaches 106 degrees.

Here in Perth, Western Australia we are just leaving behind a long, chilly winter and we are seeing some beautiful warmer sunny days, with still lots of rain - September is the spring equinox so it is always unsettled, windy and variable! We have in Perth The Royal Show, each September going into October, this is a long standing agricultural display of produce, farm machines, strapping men cutting logs, a fair ground and lots of food & drink - this usually marks the true ending of the winter months, and the commencement of Perth's famous long-hot-summer; from November to April we have blue skies and solar extremes, the older I get the more I dislike hot weather, I am considering a move to more temperate climes before I reach my old age.

I feel extremely thankful I'm in Ecuador, and nearly didn't post on the thread as I never want to seem to be conveying any kind of "Well, I'm all right here." But my gratitude is genuine, and I'm very sensitive about what I share with people. I'm well aware that may others in the world are suffering significantly in a whole bunch of major ways.

But (like the intact supply chain, low fuel prices and and low inflation), the weather here is largely unaffected as well. Things are a little more unstable than in previous years, and for the last couple of years straight there have been unseasonable floods from heavy rain in March/April that have caused a lot of damage. But nothing nearly as serious as in many other countries.

As I've posted on other threads, most days all my doors and windows are open, it's all very temperate year round (day temps are around 65-70ºF/ 18-21ºC, nights dropping to 50ºF/10ºC), and there's no need for either heating or a/c. Nearer the coast it'd be a lot warmer, but I'm in the middle of the country at about 9,000 ft/ 2750m, so it's all very comfortably mild.

One thing which I do have to be aware of is the extremely high UV levels (often higher than 11 on the scale, which is officially 'extreme'). Since I burned my eyes very badly 3 years ago (and was lucky to escape damage), I now wear UV-protective mountain sunglasses almost all the time I'm outside, even if only for a few minutes. It's just a habit now, so I go around looking all the time like Ray Charles.

The sunglasses I can understand Bill, I wear my Ray Bans constantly here, otherwise my eyes water up and I can't see, UV extremes are common here also! Cataracts so very common, UV caused.

The weather here in Sweden ( Stockholm) is normal. We havent had either drought or flood as of yet. One peculiar thing though wich is being discussed is that the water level in the baltic sea is unusually low. Also there has been a warning that water is also running low in the reservoirs and wells.

HOT... with a huge side of choking smoke... in Northern California, where the weather has been hanging out in the low 100's. And with the large wildfires we have now, the sun is orange, if we can see it at all. The moon looked a really stunning shade of blood red lastnight... It looks like coastal fog touching the ground in our area, as there are soo many large fires contributing to the problem that it no longer is just rising up in the air, but crawling on the ground...

Kind of a morbid thought, but it does make for extremely beautiful sunsets... Yet it is so ominous...

I won't say precisely where I am, but in recent years I have relocated to a safe location deep inland on high ground (to hedge against a possible pole shift). I'm in a protective weather bubble, so I don't get extreme storms or droughts, nor heat, nor cold. Though sometimes it can be cold. It's just pleasant most of the times, and rainy. The air is nice and pure, especially today, so I was happy with that.

Bill, I wonder how your good dog (Mara?) fares against the harsh UV? I heard (rumour-quality info) years ago, that sheep at high altitudes down in southern South America were being blinded by UV. You guys have that South Atlantic Anomaly centred just to your East, a magnetosphere weak spot that lets in high energy particles (GCRs, and lesser Sun ones) that wreck the protective Ozone shield.

Dizi, beautiful sunsets are far from morbid. Please don’t beat yourself up! ~8O ♥️

Besides Juan Browne, who covered the Camp fire that leveled Paradise and who recently covered the Mosquito, my NorCal wildfire-info source is Deke Lunder, 2 dispatches a day now since 2 days. Might smoothe your feathers :~8D: to hear that smoke cools these (own) fires, until the wind picks up in mid afternoon (not in this vid, but one of yesterday’s).

    Hey there Johnny! Thanks...

Juan Browne, well, funny you mention him, as he has been a personal friend a of mine since I met him about 31 years ago ... He lives only a few miles from me, and essentially across the street from the folks... We all watch the channel!

The man does so much for our community, as does his lovely wife, as she is very active in having a positive influence in the local schools... I wish there were more like them... And I am so happy that others have found his works.. As he puts a lot of time and energy, and money into those videos...

Autumnal here in central England; quite cloudy, mainly dry with a bit of rain at times, sometimes a bit stormy. This year has seemed more like a normal year as far as the seasons have been. In recent years I've tried to go on holiday in May, June or September as they seemed to have better weather than July and August.

This year July and August were hot and sunny as they ought to be, bucking the trend of recent years, but we had two days of 38 to 41 centigrade and that was touted as 'climate change'. What a load of tripe; I remember the long hot summer of 1976, this year was a stroll in the park compared to that.

In my part of NE OK it is to us pretty much par for the course. Our area is referred to often by, "Okies" as, "Green Country" and it is still very green and lush here as it is every year. Ants have been terrible the last two years running. I can deal with that easier than fleas and ticks tho which are also abundant here. My backyard grows like a rainforest.. We've had typical rainfall and all seems the same as it was when we moved here from AZ in 1989. If anything this summer was not as hot as some in the past but it was close on a couple of days especially around the fourth of July. This Sep seems cooler which most here take as a sign of early snow and a harder winter. FWTIW.

Was up where lower and upper Michigan meet this weekend, 50 s at night 70 s to low 80s during the day, everything green , tons of apples on the trees, took a motorcycle ride to a buddies and we ended up on a pontoon boat all afternoon riding around a series of 30 islands. Great lake levels are good, leafs are just starting to turn. We did have a heavy haze of fire smoke from Oregon on Thursday night.

I'm confused because I haven't seen chemtrails here in Zagreb/Croatia for several days.
The temperature is a pleasant 17-23 C. Otherwise, the climate in Croatia is varied - the continental part is colder, while the coast has a Mediterranean climate and temperatures rarely go below 0 C in winter. I enjoy the change of seasons and am looking forward to colorful autumn and winter hibernation, maybe even snow this year (focus on the positive!)
Is every mind connected to form a peer to peer network that creates the illusion of a shared reality, making the appearance of material reality a simulation created through shared beliefs?
