The Agenda-Led changes in what is considered Acceptable

Acceptable:
able to be agreed on; suitable.
"has tried to find a solution acceptable to everyone"
able to be tolerated or allowed.

synonyms: bearable, tolerable, allowable, admissible, supportable, sustainable, justifiable, defensible

I've helped to wax a surf board, and I've waxed quite a few cars and motorcycles,
but this is the first chance that I have had to wax philosophical.

I was reading over the original version of Pinocchio, the first translation from the Italian of the author, in 1926.

In it, we very clearly learn that a Mister Cherry found a piece of wood that looked suitable, and began to carve it for a table leg that he needed.
It began to complain immediately, and caution him to watch out.
To the people of the late 1880s, the idea that a piece of wood, coming as it does
from a living thing - a life-sustaining tree, could be sentient, was acceptable to them.

It seemed somehow to be reasonable, and thus it could be entertained as a possibility.

Now perhaps I should define sentient as used in this context:
Sentient: able to perceive or feel things.
"she had been instructed from birth in the equality of all sentient life forms"
synonyms: feeling, capable of feeling, living, live, conscious, aware, responsive, reactive

Sentient is not to be confused with Sapient -wise, or attempting to appear wise.
"members of the female quarter were more sapient but no less savage than the others"
relating to the human species ( Homo sapiens ).

Did you notice that, in order to be sentient or wise, you also need to have some relation to the human species? What nonsense. As if alien life forms could not
be wise beyond what we know, or would not be the holders of tablets of wisdom that were created a billion years before the planet Earth was.

So Pinocchio, in his earliest form, felt pain. That's feelings, and that is sentient behavior.

Later, when Mister Geppetto was given the wood (after Mr Cherry lost his cool and no longer wished to be in the same room with it) the wood spoke to him quite often.
But he was never made into a "child" or "son of mankind" until much later in the story - when the blue fairy saw that he was finally able to control his emotions and act as a normal young adult should - according to the norms of the powers that be.

Now enter Disney, tool of the Military and OSS, later CIA, (during WWII) and ever the friend of the powers that be. It was no longer acceptable for Pinocchio to be sentient from the beginning. Now it was only through the prayers of Geppetto that his wish was granted, still by the Blue Fairy however. Because it was acceptable in the period after WWII for an object to become sentient after prayer.
This is a clear indoctrination that teaches children to set aside the love of mother nature and her creations, and pick up the more acceptable power of prayer.

Now to the snarkier part. In recent times we have scientists affiliated with NASA that are crafting messages to be sent into Space for extraterrestrials to come across. And in those messages we now supplant prayer, and the Blue Fairy is replaced with aliens. In fact the message is a plea to those sky gods of old - the Sumerian gods of old, and has no connection to prayer as the Christians might think of it.

So we've gone full circle. From the mother nature worship of our honest ancestors to the then acceptable intervention of the Christian ideas of prayer and fairies or angels in fairy form, who can help intercede and grant wishes - including the transformation of material objects into human form.

And now the pleas to the sky gods of old to unite with mankind and bring them to ever higher levels of evolution and modernity - to help us to become a member in some universal council of planets so to speak - and the Blue Fairy is now some figure from Star Trek.

What will become acceptable to us next? And how long before we begin to understand that we, a united we that is, is what is really required to reach those higher levels?
