My buddy said yesterday that all the marked boat channels in and around the islands are no longer valid. The underwater elevatiaoans of the sand have moved so much they have no idea what's safe to travel and what's not.

I lost my favorite beach for 8 months after Maria hit the island... takes quite a while for the sand bars/distribution to go back to normal (luckily it gradually came back, and in fact was accelerated by another tropical storm)
