I was captivated by the animal 7D technology video above. I thought I might only see a minute of it to catch what it was all about, but I was so spellbound I watched it right to the end.

The thing that got me was that the kids in the video really thought the magical animals were real. They were reaching out to touch them.

It even had me wondering — a dystopian scenario! — if a future zoo full of magical animals might actually be a kind of untra-high-tech light show, all carefully choreographed to be much more entertaining for visitors than the real thing. And maybe when some of the REAL magical animals were extinct, or nearly so. It's all about what's real and what's not, and increasingly the lines may become blurred.

The title is very misleading. These aren't real 'holograms'. That technology does not exist, at least that we know of.

The people in these videos can't see anything in front of them - like at 20 seconds the surfacing whale on the basketball court - which came up here. It's just a CGI composite and an example of augmented reality. At 2.50 the kids in the mall are reacting to a large TV screen on which CGI animals are being projected, appearing as though they're right in front of them. It's like that Pokemon Go game. It's just a trick. There are no holograms involved.

    Good points, Mark.

This thread was created by Bill. Similar issues(+) were brought up elsewhere. I deleted the summary once it was moved here, but I forgot about the title.
    • If people have a burning desire to see the title and summary, they can check them out on Youtube or check out the title in your post. I have no plan to engage in that discussion (again).

NOTE: I appreciate Bill’s timely intervention.

The kiddies’ zoo aspect is just the tip of a very large iceberg. Holograms can be applied by humans for less entertaining, albeit not necessarily nefarious purposes. In France, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the leftist candidate at the presidential election used it to hold several political rallies at the same time. (Sorry, can't embed the link.)

He didn’t win, but he did very well. The gimmick per se didn’t win him any votes: his policies and persuasiveness did, although an apparent presence would certainly have helped, just as it helps a distant loved one to see your face when you call them.
Unfortunately, once you are into multiplication, the power instinct kicks in and the sky’s the limit as to what can be done. Imagine a Fatima-type event occurring in every part of the world at once. It would seem to be feasible, either now or soon. So any bona fide force for good in the world that was planning on using that method of getting through to humanity can have another think, because we now know that it could well be simply a technological gimmick, meaning a massive over-exaggeration of something ultimately very small. Let me rephrase that: any bona fide humans expecting or hoping for such an outcome need no longer be duped; this is not how anything positive is going to come about. Maybe when we have eliminated all such impossibilities, we might be ready for something totally different, and I suspect rather underwhelming.
