Lightbulb *ast* The festival of light with Diwali

Diwali is a very popular festival in India: it is the festival of lights, during which people give each other gifts and shoot fireworks. The five-day festivities, of which the third, the most important ("Bari Divali", "the great Divali"), are granted to the goddess Lakshmi, the other four being associated with different legends and traditions. This third day is also the last of the year in the Hindu Vikram calendar, used in northern India. The next day, the start of the Hindu New Year, is known as Annakut in northern India. In South India, Divali does not coincide with the start of the new year as another calendar is used, the Shalivahana calendar.
