I'm catching up on this thread. I came to post that my sense is something has shifted for the better, and I can see that is the current theme here. My own personal sense is no big deal but I have a strong enough sense of this that I want to post about it. I don't say this lightly because as I've spammed already I'm suspicious of Elon's long game. But I believe the shift is because of what Elon has done on twitter; changed the game with his brutal alpha moves. The truth was itching to break, but Elon gave it several hard kicks. Accounts are still being suspended (two more today) but I don't know why, it could be for mundane reasons. But the unbanning Elon has done, of some big hitters like Malone, has rocked the world in the right way. I've already eaten all of my popcorn, I have to get some more.

Jimmy Dore is great and has done brilliant work on his video channel... he is funny, hard edged, bold and uncompromising but I think that like he did with Trump he will soften his attitude a bit towards Elon Musk over time -

He says... "Elon Musk is not your friend"... but to be honest he IS my friend right now...I'm not referring to what he did or didn't do in the past or might do in the future but what he's doing right now exposing (with evidence) what's been going on with Twitter - and bringing back some prominent people who were banned...

and I'm not even a member of Twitter - but I recognise his contribution to righting the wrongs there... and the personal risk he is taking by doing it...

Ex-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey faces five years in prison for perjury

For the crime of lying under oath to congress, Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, faces a minimum of five years in prison, reports indicate.

Dorsey infamously claimed, falsely, that Twitter does not “shadow ban” conservatives and independent voices, and that all users are treated the same. We now know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was a lie.

Since Dorsey was under oath at the time of this claim, he is guilty of committing perjury, which carries with it serious consequences. (Related: Dorsey is also accused of covering up Twitter’s child pornography problem.)

A formal investigation, announced Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), could soon be launched into Dorsey’s crimes. If that happens, Dorsey could be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

“The Twitter Files reveal that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey may have committed perjury,” Biggs tweeted. “He told Congress under oath that Twitter was not shadow-banning conservatives. Twitter was. He should be investigated by @JudiciaryGOP and @GOPoversight.”

The Twitter Files, of course, are document dumps that new Twitter head Elon Musk is releasing to indict Dorsey and other former leadership of the corrupt social media platform.

Some of these files contain internal conversations among Twitter staff that reveal how certain accounts were tagged and targeted for unfair treatment. Some of them were banned while others were simply made less visible, which is what “shadow-banning” means.

Was Dorsey even aware of all that was taking place at Twitter, or was he mostly just a patsy?

Twitter executives have repeatedly claimed that such practices are not happening, but ever since Musk took over, proof that they are, in fact, happening has been flowing straight to the media.

In 2018 when Dorsey was asked if social media “is being rigged to censor conservatives,” he answered with a simple “no” – watch the video below:

Another revelation in the Twitter Files is the fact that Dorsey was largely absent from his role as CEO while at Twitter. As some suspected was the case, he may have just been a figure head or patsy, of sorts, who functioned as the “face” of the company.

There is a possibility, in other words, that Dorsey was largely unaware of all that was really happening at Twitter. He might have known a few things, but was he really involved with the day-to-day activities of the company’s far-left employees?

Biggs wants to see all of this addressed and answered as part of a House Judiciary Committee and GOP Oversight Committee investigation into the matter.

“I don’t know what happened in the past year,” Dorsey tweeted on December 9. “But to say we didn’t take action for years isn’t true,” he added, referring specifically to the child porn allegations.

“You can make all my emails public to verify,” he further wrote to Musk. “Company took away my access to email or I would.”

Once Republicans take over the House next term, there is a chance that at least some of this will be addressed and looked into further. Time will tell.

“What about Zuckerberg at Facebook, and Ryan Roslansky at LinkedIn?” asked a commenter about other social media heads who are suspected of similar wrongdoing. “Why stop at Jack Dorsey?”

“He’s another one they’ve obviously groomed and recruited from infancy, from his family history in service to them, for the position they used him in,” wrote another about who Dorsey might really be, which is just a patsy from a rich family.

I am not blind to the power and troubling possibilities inherent in Musk, but since he bought twitter he has done more to spread the truth of government/MSM corruption and awaken huge numbers of folks to some Truths than anyone imho - for that I salute him in the present (and buy more popcorn.)

If he's a limited hangout action he's a hell of a big one.

That's exactly the way I look at it. Yep, I gotta admit it is a blast seeing all the liberal "woke" elite and clot shot killers get a good lashing in the public square but to forget that this is absolutely staged is a huge mistake.

The December Harvard CAPS / Harris Poll is out this week and Mark Penn and his colleagues have some interesting results to share. Despite the refusal of many in the media to cover the Twitter files, nearly two-thirds of voters believe Twitter shadow-banned users and engaged in political censorship during the 2020 election. Seventy percent of voters want new national laws protecting users from corporate censorship.

This week, the media continued to fulfill that common view of a de facto state media by ignoring new evidence of FBI coordination in censorship targets with Twitter in the latest news blackout.

On Friday, Twitter released additional information showing that the FBI and CIA actively pushed for censorship, supplying lists of accounts to be suspended or banned.

Journalist Matt Taibbi described Twitter as acting as a “subsidiary” of the FBI and wrote that “between January 2020 and November 2022, there were over 150 emails between the FBI and former Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth.”

The evidence continues to establish a system of censorship by surrogate or proxy. While the First Amendment applies to the government and not private corporations generally, it does apply to agents or surrogates of the government. Twitter now admits that such a relationship existed between its former officials and the government.

Once again, however, the major networks and newspapers have largely ignored the story. There has been a full mobilization of media, political, and business interests against Elon Musk and Twitter to oppose the restoration of free speech protections at the company. The media is heavily invested in suppressing this story after years of denials of any problems of censorship. Previously, they denied censorship was occurring. When such censorship became obvious, they denied that there was any involvement of the FBI and the government. Now that such involvement is confirmed, they are simply not covering the story.

Instead, the media is “all-in” on the doxxing suspensions (which Musk has now lifted). I have been critical of Musk’s response to the doxxing controversy. In part this is due to the scope of the suspensions and the fact that they occurred only 24 hours after the new policy was implemented. I would have preferred warnings and further clarity on the issue, particularly in what constituted doxxing in some of these tweets from journalists.

Despite the overwhelming coverage, there is little explanation of the media’s approach to the underlying doxxing question. Some have said that this is a “grey area” or may be below the threshold.

For years, the media has supported suspensions due to doxxing. In this case, the location of Musk’s plane may have been used by an individual to threaten his family. Most reports omit any discussion of whether the sending of such live locations information is doxxing. If it is, it has long been banned by most sites and journalists are not exempt.

Previously, figures connected with mainstream media from CNN to the Washington Post have been accused of doxxing. Liberal groups were accused of doxxing conservative justices and others, including dangerously posting information on the children of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. It does not seem to matter when the targets are conservative, Republican, or libertarian.

Writers who have long advocated the banning of others with opposing views are some of the loudest objecting in the wake of the doxxing controversy. The Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz expressed fear that she could be next. It may not be a groundless fear since Lorenz has been previously accused of doxxing others and described the reintroduction of free speech protections for others as the opening of “the gates of hell.”

Jack Sweeney, the creator of this site (using publicly available information), has expressed shock at being sued and suspended. However, these articles continue to tellingly omit one of the critical issues. Is it doxxing to supply people with the minute-by-minute movement of the plane used by Musk and his family? That would seem relevant to weighing the merits of these suspensions.

Such slanted coverage is clearly losing its hold on the public or its view of Twitter. Indeed, the media continues to write off a large percentage of readers and viewers with openly biased coverage. The public is not buying it. It is buying Twitter. Not only are users signing up in record numbers, but a recent poll shows a majority of Americans “support Elon Musk’s ongoing efforts to change Twitter to a more free and transparent platform.”

In the wake of the latest release, the FBI issued a statement that said that there was nothing to see here and that “the FBI regularly engages with private sector entities to provide information specific to identified foreign malign influence actors’ subversive, undeclared, covert, or criminal activities.”

The statement is notable for what it does not contain: any recognition of the seriousness of the allegations or pledge to conduct its own investigation in whether this relationship crossed over to de facto government censorship. According to some reports, as many as 80 FBI agents may have been tasked to assist in the censorship efforts. Yet, the FBI has offered little more than a shrug in the face of credible constitutional concerns.

According to the Harvard/Harris poll, the public believes that such censorship occurred and warrants action. The denials of the FBI and the dismissal of the mainstream media will only serve to magnify such calls for action.

Not sure what to think of Musk, it looks like a battle of AIs is coming our way, but it does seem he could have setup this poll to target bots and bot makers.... He might be able to watch trends to see where all this is coming from to clean things up further....
