US issues "Terror Threat" in South Africa

Well this has put the cat among the pigeons, so to speak.

Earlier this week, the US embassy in South Africa issued a Terrorist alert.

The South African government was not at all happy at being completely bypassed in their own county by a foreign county.

The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, reiterated the unhappiness at this breach of normal diplomatic protocol - Ramaphosa reacts to US terror alert for Sandton – he’s not happy!

Warnings like these cause a lot of panic amongst the people. South Africans should be best informed by their own government. Any form of alert will come from us. It is unfortunate that another government would issue a threat like this. Our government is investigating.

South Africans in general mocked the threat by taking to Twitter - ‘We’ll be ready’: Tweeps mock ‘terrorist’ warning with memes

And Julius Malema of the EFF expressed what many people are thinking (and normally we dont like Julius) - EFF says terror warning is a ‘self-made plot’

The only people said to be taking this seriously are one minister who is well known to have been VERY funded by the US in the past, and the upcoming Gay Pride event

While the US Embassy gave no specifics other than that it was expected to happen around October 29 through 30, the British government added more details - Sandton TERROR threat: Main threat from Daesh/ISIS extremists

The gay pride event is set to go ahead, and who knows what all is behind all this. Very odd indeed.

Johannesburg Pride is one of the biggest events in Sandton this weekend. There are concerns that a ‘credible threat’ to LGBTQI+ citizens is now fully established, and some will require greater reassurances before turning up for the event.

The organisers of Joburg Pride said the situation has been assessed over the past 24 hours and after consultations with the relevant authorities the decision was made to go ahead with the march.

If any of these 4 countries really did care about their own citizens, it might be more credible. But all four, in their domestic policies, have demonstrated that they do not have the slightest regard for their own people, So why would they be concerned about their people located in South Africa?

In this case I may be in agreement with the threat being self made by these countries, just because it suspiciously coincides with the docking of a Russian billionaire super yacht in Cape Town...just my 2 cents

Yes that is very plausible.

The City of Cape Town initially wanted to refuse docking to the Russian billionaires' superyacht, but the South African Government overrode that and allowed it to dock

My sense as well it is definitely something along those lines - more of a coded warning to certain people to "get back in line".

For those not familiar with the details of South African politics, the City of Cape Town in the province of the Western Cape, where the wondrous Table Mountain is, is openly and vigorously supportive of Ukraine, while the South African government is steadfastly neutral and will not take a stand against Russia. Or Ukraine.

Large payouts from the Foundations - Ford, Mellon, Carnegie, Clinton, and Bill and Melinda Gates - over the years - means they feel they are owed. And only the City of Cape Town is complying, really.

Fascinating.

Yes to the above. The powers that think that they be, are always trying to get every body, or country to obey, or you are a giant threat to all others on this planet.

‘At least FOUR dead’ in mass shooting incident near Johannesburg

Finetown is no stranger to high crime rates – but a mass shooting of this kind stands out like a sore thumb.
