Lightbulb 2023, the year of the Hare, Rabbit or Water Cat

According to the authors, we will be in “2023” from January 22 under the year of the Hare, Rabbit or Cat.

For more precision among the Vietnamese it is the "Cat", the Japanese it is the "Rabbit" and in China the Hare? , when you do a search on the web you find the three according to the preferences of the authors.

Afterwards, I don't have all the books that have been published on Chinese astrology… we can say that the definition of the hare and the rabbit is the same with a nuance: one is wild and the other is fed in a cage to be consume. With the Cat we can find him in semi-freedom or in an apartment. There is still a nuance between a Cat and a Rabbit which will not have the same function in our lives, except for Asians (Vietnam, Korea or China ate Cat and Dog and we talk about it less in Germany, Eastern Switzerland and even in Africa ) In China the practice begins with the arrival of the Summer Solstice and precisely in the city of “Yulin”. With the arrival of COVID and more and more people outraged by these practices, since 2020, theChina would have banned this barbaric practice on dogs and cats . With the year of the “Cat” other than the “Rabbit or the Hare” we should perhaps see changes in consumer habits spreading?

In France with regard to the "Rabbit" consumption is much less widespread than poultry, so it may be that a shortage in France or at least in Europe shows its nose or then a health scandal as we had known under the year of the "Horse" it is possible that the cause of the Cat is more supported by actions in favor of this animal?

For the Chinese, whether it is the Cat, Hare or Rabbit it would be considered the luckiest of all animals in any case certainly not in the places of the world it is hunted down to be eaten by any means whatsoever.

As Paula Delsol says in her book “ Chinese HoroscopesCat or Rabbit, it always lands on these legacies. It is the happiest, the most certainly happy… The cat [Rabbit/Hare] is gifted, ambitious without exaggeration, pleasant company, discreet, reserved, refined, and what is more virtuous. Everyone is aware of this, because the cat [Rabbit/Hare] speaks well and knows how to show off. But this deluge of qualities is not without a defect which, although minor, is no less serious: it is superficial and, consequently, its qualities are too.

The Cat [Rabbit/Hare] loves society and society loves him. He enjoys social gatherings and he is sometimes gossipy… but he is so with subtlety, tact and caution, which leads him not to explain himself willingly when he has something disagreeable to say about someone. The Cat {Rabbit/Hare] likes to receive and his house is often decorated with a refined taste. He is a socialite, some would even say a snob. He is pedantic at times and the Cat woman [Rabbit/Hare] flaunts her (newly acquired) culture with relish. He sometimes studies certain subjects in depth for the sole purpose of shining, while he ignores all other much more important subjects. The Cat [Rabbit/Hare] does not get angry easily. It is calm, placid, peaceful. He has more sentimentality than real sensibility and is more easily moved towards himself than towards the great evils of men. War and hunger in the world touch and concern him only if he suffers from them personally, but then he will suffer so cruelly that he will not bear it and will let himself die. The cat [Rabbit/Hare] cries easily, but consoles itself quickly. The melancholy of the women of this sign is one of the major assets of their charm. The Cat [Rabbit/Hare] is conservative. He hates anything that disturbs his peace of mind, anything that brings him problems. He has the greatest need for comfort and security. As he is cautious and even a little timorous, he undertakes nothing before having thought about it for a long time, after having weighed the pros and cons for a long time. For this prudence people admire and trust him.

Financially, he will always be happy. He is skilful in business and anyone who signs a contract with a Cat [Rabbit/Hare] cannot dream of withdrawing from it. He is a good speculator and has a knock for spotting good opportunities. In short, this quiet Cat [Rabbit/Hare] is a formidable businessman. […] women of this sign will be able to shine in all trades that require taste, a sense of reception and a good presentation. The politician would be well advised to choose a woman of the year of the Cat [Rabbit/Hare]: both discreet and worldly, she will bring him a lot by her presence at his side while being happy to be in sight. .Although affectionate and helpful with those he loves, although capable of love and loyalty, the Cat [Rabbit/Hare] easily detaches himself from his relatives for the benefit of his friends. He has no family spirit and often considers his parents or his children as strangers to whom he prefers the friends of his choice. The maternal instinct of women of this sign is very limited, but they will always do their duty.

The Cat [Rabbit/Hare] will go well with the Goat, whose artistic sense he will appreciate. He will bring him his own comfort and his whims will not touch him. Everything will be fine with the honest Dog and the scrupulous Pig. But the Rooster will annoy him with his bluster and he'll have to avoid the Rat... like the plague. With the Tiger, his relationship in love as in business will be strained. The Cat [Rabbit/Hare], less strong, will always come out of it by a pirouette because he understands the tiger so well, their race being common, that he cannot fear it.

The Cat [Rabbit/Hare] will have a calm existence during the three phases of its life, on one condition: that it never encounters an exceptional situation, a dramatic event, an insurmountable obstacle. Wars, revolutions, disasters are not his business, he is not cut out for adversity. Anything that disturbs his tranquility is unbearable to him; if he doesn't resist, he can go mad, […] Asian people regard the cat/Rabbit/Hare – with suspicion. Popular belief says that witches change into cats. In Europe, weren't they burned alive in the Middle Ages, accusing them of conversing with the devil? But it seems that this bad reputation is not deserved and the Egyptians worshiped the Cat as a god. God, witch or man,

You will have understood it, the Cat (Rabbit/Hare) is coming, open the door to him and above all do not scold him otherwise he could leave for other skies or regain his freedom if he has the power to do so...

Thanks for this - for me, always very interesting indeed.

I've had a many decades long now (since at least 1990) fascination with the Chinese Astrology which most of the time I see clearly taking place and playing out very accurately, often. It's quite the thing to observe.

A further understanding of ones more full horoscope or profile is achievable by determining which element and day you are born on which determines the actual you; the month, and the hour too can be determined. (The minutes of your birth also form the overall picture; it can get quite granular )

The animal governing your year of birth operates much like a costume (as with the western astrology) while the animals governing the day (especially), hour and month give a more accurate overall personality profile.

There is no one pure sign, anywhere, of course

This only really works if you know to within a quarter of an hour the time you were born, and of course where, otherwise one is only getting an approximation.

Thanks Tintin for the feedback! Yes there are several ways to approach Chiroise astrology like Chinese astrology and the 111 stars.

There is a simple way to study your Chinese ascendant called the travel companion.

It's a start while waiting for the sequel on Chinese astrology

    YOUR TRAVEL COMPANION

    – 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.: RAT

    – 01h00 to 03h00: BUFFALO

    – 0300 to 05:00: TIGER

    – 05h00 to 07h00: CHAT

    – 07h00 to 09h00: DRAGON

    – 09h00 to 11h00: SNAKE

    – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: HORSE

    – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: GOAT

    – 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: MONKEY

    – 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.: COCK

    – 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.: DOG

    – 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.: BOAR

This Chinese ascendant is to be added to your Chinese sign to qualify it

In France to calculate it you have to add 8h Beijing time, depending on the country where you live you have to modify the time to add the result to your time of birth and then consult the table.

I have another article to publish on Chinese astrology and another in addition to the Chinese sign of the month from the Chinese sign of the year that will come after. I have published several articles on Chinese astrology, like the article on the 5 elements and also the 60 year cycle, when the Chinese birth sign returns with the same birth element...

it's late in France, I'm going to sleep

The hesitant Hare says: is this a good match? ; …
Starts a courtship: At first reserved, flirtatious and cautious, without getting too involved, then in one leap, will take action, without worrying about your reactions.
His Desire: ready for anything, but with comfort, without taking any risks, likes to shine.
Deceive you: how he breathes; fickle, he adores and he forgets just as quickly, on the other hand will not hesitate to suspect you, to spy on you, and this for free; moreover, he will refrain from confronting you in the event of a conflict.
He adores: pomp, social events, strongholds, comfort.
Does not support: to take responsibilities, the confrontation, the clarifications, the commitment of his person.
Resolves: to remain on his guard, to let the others speak.
    Major flaws: touchy, pedantic, selfish.
Main asset: prudence, good memory and discretion.
On the relaxation side: ready for anything provided that he does not decide. Social receptions and happy hours.
On the financial side: horribly spendthrift, watch out for your old age which is likely to be gloomy.
    Symbol: Venus.
    White colour.
    Plant: the fig tree.
    Flower: meadowsweet.
Hare professions: politics, theology, philosophy, civil servant; when they are at the forefront, do not accept contradiction, or painfully live their exceptional position.

The Hare will be happier if he is born in summer

    The Rabbit, in Chinese culture

In this article, I will share with you an excerpt from my latest acquisition of Zhang Fang "The twelve animals and their place in Chinese culture", following research, I found no information on the author, except that he was born in 1961 in Wuhan in the province of Hubai.

At the time of publication of the book in 2001, the author was assistant professor at the Faculty of Letters and direct deputy of the Theory of the History of Literature section of the Institute of Arts of the People's Army of Release. He teaches and while researching traditional Chinese literature and culture.

What I am going to share with you is to better understand the place occupied by the fourth Chinese zodiac sign the Rabbit (Cat or Hare) in the book it is the Rabbit who stands out. In this part of the book, the author mentions "it is not a question here of historical reality but of a story of the past"

Given its appearance, the Rabbit is considered the friendliest among the 12 astrological animals. His coat is soft, he has long ears and a shy look and a good character. It does no harm to humans or other animals. Therefore, it only inspires beautiful and moving images. The sweetness of the rabbit's behavior also evokes that of a woman endowed with great charm, as shown in Chinese legends.

A woman named Chang E was the wife of an elite archer Hou Yi. As she had secretly swallowed the pill of immortality offered by the Queen Mother of the West to her husband, she had buried herself in the moon, where she had since lived in solitude. On the moon, she had only three companions: a boy named Wu Gang, doomed to cut down a tree forever; a rabbit that spent its time pounding a medicinal plant, and finally a toad that did nothing. Chang E's fate inspires emotion and compassion. The rabbit that keeps him company is therefore also friendly.

It is the rabbit who first gives the moon a place in mythology. At the time of the Warring States, Qu Yuan, a great Chinese poet, spoke in the Question to Heaven of the rabbit in the moon. A poet of a later period composed the Imitation of the Question to Heaven, which more accurately describes the rabbit in the moon crushing a medicinal plant with his pestle. According to the ancients, the sun is the essence of yang. The plenitude of yang engenders a species of bird: in the sun, therefore, dwells a golden bird of a yang nature. The moon is of yin essence. The plenitude of yin engenders a wild animal: in the moon therefore dwells the rabbit of yin nature. Others consider that the rabbit is linked to the mao sign of the 12 earthly Branches;in the Mao period, the moon has the roundest shape. Naturally, the rabbit being linked to the moon, it was deduced that the moon sheltered the rabbit. The last interpretation relates to the sign of the rabbit. We have already mentioned the relationship between the rabbit and the twelve animals and the twelve terrestrial branches used to divide time. In this context, the rabbit is also linked to the moon.

The moon evokes clarity and loneliness, sweetness and feelings. It forms a striking contrast to the sun. In Chinese legends, the sun is often linked to heroes and honor […] On the other hand, the Moon in mythology is evoked in a style full of sweetness. This responds to two forms of beauty according to classical Chinese aesthetic theory: the vigor of yang and the softness of yin. The physiognomy and behavior of the rabbit corresponds to the second form of beauty, so it is linked to the moon, the essence of yin. In addition to the reasons already mentioned, there is one of the order of aesthetic psychology.

Let us turn our gaze now to the earth, and examine the image of the rabbit on earth. The rabbit is an ordinary animal, but its history is fabulous […] The Taoist school considers the rabbit as a divine animal and grants it a longevity of a thousand years. The rabbit at the age of five hundred years turned completely white. Being of divine essence, he could help man to become immortal. This is why the Taoists used the rabbit to make the pill mixed with rabbit blood and honey. Taking such a pill made it possible to prolong the life of a man.

In reality, the fabulous character of the rabbit is not apparent only in mythology or Taoism. The ancients claimed that the rabbit is different from other animals. It does not reproduce by mating but by contemplating the moon. More exactly, looking at the moon, the rabbit receives vital energy and acquires fertility. It is also said that the doe licks the hair of the male rabbit to be impregnated. […] This is why in Chinese tradition, the rabbit is the symbol of fertility. For humans, the rabbit is a lucky animal […]

In the legends, the rabbit is full of sweetness and elegance. But it can also appear in a terrifying aspect […] Although myths and legends mention these "bad" rabbits, this animal is generally adored by man. Some people even consider the behavior of the rabbit as the embodiment of a certain morality. For example, the appearance or disappearance of the red rabbit symbolizing happiness meant that the ruler of the kingdom had noble merits or not; the sometimes rapid, sometimes slow gestures of the rabbit symbolize the mobility and stability of a thing; the white color and luster of his hair symbolizes the morality of the people. These comparisons give the image of the rabbit its cultural content.

I did not mention all the stories that were related in this part of the book apart from the folkloric part of the Chinese tradition according to the regions which is interesting and the part of the interpretation of the Chinese astrology of the rabbit that the we find in many books that make the characterological description of the 12 Chinese signs.

I really liked this relationship of the Moon and the rabbit that I did not know.
