    .

It's the day of the Rochdale By Election - where George Galloway is odds on favourite to win...

Just seen this video made a short while ago... George and his wife Gayatri look hopeful but are saying that they need people to get out and vote...

Something not right... maybe a 'dirty trick'...? The Labour Candidate, Aznar Ali, who was suspended from the Labour Party over remarks made about Israel - is still on the ballot paper as a Labour Candidate - which could take votes away from George if someone thinks they are voting Labour but they aren't .... Labour is the only party anywhere near George and his Worker's Party of Britain - none of the others have a chance, really......certainly not according to the Bookies ...

Rochdale Election Day with George Galloway & Aznar Ali(4:01)

    Quote 29 Feb 2024
Voting is in progress until 10pm tonight in Rochdale UK's by-election. We caught up with two of the candidates, George Galloway and Azhar Ali, who had stopped by the poling booths to check the count.

    From the Breaking News thread:

Quote Posted by Bill Ryan (here)
An interim update on the very chaotic (and fascinating!) Rochdale by-election in the UK, which was held today. Multiple news platforms are reporting that George Galloway (see this Avalon thread) is already claiming victory — apparently very confidently, too — but the official results won't be known for another few hours.
..and reposting from the British Isles 'turmoil' thread, here:

Well done George Galloway (and if he can get to work on stamping out those egregious grooming gangs as well, would be some icing methinks.)

Perhaps this should be copied to the "Great Quotes" thread too

"Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak are two cheeks of the same backside, and they both got well and truly spanked tonight!"

“If a man does not keep pace with [fall into line with] his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” - Thoreau

After Sunak's little tantrum speech last tonight, its clear that Galloway is set to receive an even bigger smear campaign than the ones they did to oust Jeremy Corbyn.

    https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/u...ation-28739497

It just seemed bizarre and completely out of the blue, with a lot of drivel about 'diversity is the best thing for Britain', blaming all our troubles on the 'far right', the meaning of which I've STILL yet to hear explained adequately though obviously is directed at native indigenous Britons.

Almost felt like a humiliation ritual, with Sunak, a rich foreigner, explaining to the rest of us how his government has significantly improved things for everyone and it's all down to him.

For those who appreciate and value George Galloway as much as I do, there's a very articulate and complimentary 5 minute commentary from Alexander Mercouris in his regular update yesterday. It starts at 1:10:00, right at the end of the video.

He predicts that Galloway may possibly make quite a difference to the substantial debate in the British Parliament — and just possibly, as a kind of domino effect, even in the UK's lamentable foreign policy. Enjoy.

And here's a bunch more fun.

Alex Christoforou, Alexander Mercouris' friend and colleague but with a very contrasting anarchic and irreverent personal style, at the very start of his video update today relishes reporting on Rishi Sunak's new meltdown about Galloway being democratically elected a British MP again. The intro section about all this lasts for 7 minutes. Enjoy this as well.

Let’s hope George lays out his stall and rocks it to them in Parliament on Monday, not just about Palestine and Julian Assange, but about numerous issues which are not being addressed by the government, although I suspect there’ll be a concerted effort to bushwhack him. Maybe (being an optimist) the more liberal politicians will find their courage and stand beside him when he demands an immediate ceasefire in Palestine.

Particularly irritating was the reaction from both Labour and Conservative parties which showed that despite George Galloway being hot favourite to win the by election for weeks, they were still taken by surprise. How . . . because they’re all totally out of touch with their constituents, the public. George’s success has been put down to “growing anti-Semitism” by Islamists, with no concern that people are fed up with being poor, not eating properly, high energy bills and living costs, local councils not fulfilling their obligations in common areas, the long nhs waiting list, and our taxes going straight to Ukraine and Israel to keep wars going, killing innocent people.

    Go George

British firebrand, truth-teller and Palestinian rights supporter George Galloway has won a by-election in the Rochdale district in Manchester, and the United Kingdom elite is flipping out. Even Prime Minister Rishi Sunak felt compelled to speak out against Galloway, who announced in his victory speech, “This is for Gaza!”

Jimmy and Due Dissidence hosts Russell Dobular and Keaton Weiss discuss just how much the UK establishment detests Galloway.

    Go George
Galloway's interview with Sky's Sam Coates jogs memories of an interview he once did with Jeremy Paxman, another pompous ass. In this absurd interview Paxman asks (I kid you not) him "Are you proud of having got rid of one of the very few black women in Parliament?"

(This was in reference to Galloway's win in the East London seat of Bethnal Green and Bow back in 2005)

Galloway quite rightly requested he move on to another question. Paxman persisted, causing Galloway to eventually discard his microphone and walk off.

    Last night's Mother Of All Talk Shows..... (7pm - 9pm - GMT)...

    Opening Monologue...

@30 mins - Guest Craig Murray - historian, former British ambassador, human rights activist, reporter and described by GG as... 'all round sage'

@1:06 - Guest Abby Martin - film maker, journalist and presenter - creator of a series of presentations about Gaza...

Phone calls from around the world throughout -

    Closing remarks from George...

    J'ACCUSE - MOATS with George Galloway Ep 322 (2:11:30)

A humdinger of a show, one way or another... especially coming just 4 days after George's landslide victory in the Rochdale By Election....

I was touched by what George said in his closing remarks... that included heartfelt comments that he loved his country (Britain) and the people of his country - that he was representing and working for all people (in Rochdale and the wider world).... that British PM Rishi Sunak had put a target on him with the 'emergency' speech he gave outside Number 10 ... where he never mentioned George by name but fear mongered about extremism... and the 'far right' .... George said he wasn't afraid for himself but for his family and those around him - He said he only feared God.... and he was doing God's work for as long as he could ---

That reminded me (the bit of only fearing God and doing God's work..) of Alex Jones because that's what he says and in a way George, although a unique character himself ...reminds me, in a way, of a mixture of Alex and also a traditional left wing British version of Trump... the afore mentioned being high powered Alpha Males... loving The People and providing leadership for them.... outspoken, hard working and uncompromising -

George spoke of how he was 'accused' in the Guardian Newspaper of trying to bring the Muslim Population and the Alienated White Working Class together -- and he exploded with agreement that yes that's exactly what he was doing and he was guilty of that............ words that must make the Gravy Train establishment, the Globalists and the 'two cheeks of the same backside' ..... Sunak and Starmer.... shake with trepidation -

I have to add that I am concerned for his safety, as he steps like a warrior into the gladiatorial arena of front line politics.... but for now he's riding high and protected by the love and admiration of people all over Britain and the world...

A formidable politician who will work for all the General Public and continue to hold fast to the promise he made to Yasser Arafat on his deathbed... to stand by the people of Gaza...

Great interview with Clayton and George - thanks -

good that the ant~war aspect of GGs campaign is starting to come out... there was no talk that I saw in the run up to the Rochdale By Election and immediately after it.... about George and the No 2 NATO - No 2 WAR peace organization that he started - - - I expect his opponents/enemies will be down playing that side of things - have been instructed from on high...to downplay that...

George looked tired, as well he might but he's still going strong - seizing the moment - he will have to make sure he gets some proper rest and recuperation....but who am I to comment on that - he's been in the game long enough to know his limits...

The interview with the Sky bloke never gets old - LOL - and as an impromptu appetizer was hugely damaging to both Lab and Con - imagine at the next election people asking each other....oh which cheek of the same backside are you voting for...?

By the Gods we need more good men like George Galloway, I am incredibly encouraged with George's landslide victory in Rochdale, this is much more than a regional seat in parliament, it has enormous ramifications in terms of the political climate in the U.K: in my opinion the vast majority of working people and so-called ordinary folks in the U.K have been waiting for 'someone' to represent them, there are so few brave, true U.K political types it seems! I am over the moon with this news, I just hope the momentum can be sustained and amplified. The braying of the crapulous media invention of 'Far Right' must be put down, we all know so well there is nothing far right about the aspirations of the people.

SUCK IT UP - MOATS with George Galloway Ep 323
    (2:11:15)

George's first MOATS since he was elected as MP for Rochdale. He opens with a blast for the people who rule us and the media, who are dredging up innocent pictures of his wife during her university years, no doubt in an attempt to find ammunition to fling at him. I hope he's strong enough to withstand what is coming . . . I also hope he'll still be able to turn out regular MOATS programmes although feel his duties to Rochdale might have an effect.

George's political party, The Worker's Party of Britain, now has more than 300 applicants to stand for Parliament at their own expense, as well as several others who wish to stand as Independents, so he's given hope to many people already that we CAN and WILL get rid of the Two Cheeks. What a shock that would be for them, and what hope that would give the rest of the world. In the meantime he's been ignored by the Parliament Speaker this week, but has a right to a Maiden Speech in Parliament which he hopes to give next Tuesday.

If you've watched the video of George taking on the US Senate then you will know how steely he can be when faced with bullying "authority".

George Galloway’s Makes Jeremy Corbyn An Offer
    (7:35)

OMG - mega wrong move by George imo. Although Jeremy Corbyn was treated very badly by the Labour Party and hounded out in a spurious fashion in 2020, his mild manner manifested as downright weak when it came to standing by fellow members (like Ken Livingstone) when they were trounced before him. His day has been and gone.

I'm truly mystified, but perhaps George's recent success has sent his party membership into a tsunami and he's looking for seasoned recruits. He'd do better to approach Ken Livingstone in preference to Corbyn although Ken has had his day as well. This has also been a failing of the Reform Party, imo, syphoning off dubious Conservative members.

I just hope we're not witnessing the beginning of Two Cheeks Mark II

The mother of all maiden speeches from George Galloway MP for Rochdale
    (8:10)

"No one in the town of Gracie Fields will ever again be able to say they were born in Rochdale unless, unfortunately, in a taxi on the way to Bury or on the way to Oldham. We don't even have a postcode. This town, which was once one of the most prosperous in England, is now one of the poorest. Abandoned not just by the government, but abandoned by the mayor of Greater Manchester. Imagine a town where you can't be born. Imagine a town where you can't die.

I garnered more votes than the Conservatives, than Labour, than the Liberal Democrats, than the Reform Party. I just want to say that having given both parties a good spanking on the 29 February, I've got my boots on to give them a good kicking anytime I catch your eye here."

Not a big turnout for George Galloway's maiden speech in Parliament, which speaks volumes. No mention of Palestine either, except a short reference at the beginning, where he pays tribute to a former MP of Rochdale, Tony Lloyd.
