With the help of Allah Almighty, the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a batch of ballistic missiles at military targets of the "Israeli" entity in the Umm al-Rashrash area ["Eilat"] in southern occupied Palestine.

The Yemeni Armed Forces continue their military operations against the "Israeli" enemy, as well as implementing the decision to prevent "Israeli" ships from navigating in the Arabian and Red Seas, in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and until the aggression on our brothers in Gaza stops.

The shorting of dozens of Israeli companies listed on the Tel Aviv stock exchange “increased dramatically” before the attack.

One firm alone saw 4.43 million new shares shorted from September 14 to October 5.

On U.S. exchanges, too, there was a “sharp and unusual increase, just before the attacks” in highly risky short-dated options being placed on Israeli stocks, which expired almost immediately after the attack started.

    Coincidence?

Just Like 9/11? Suspicious Israeli Stock Market Activity Hints at Foreknowledge of October 7 Attack

A new academic study has made a shocking and highly controversial finding. Suspicious Israeli stock market activity in the days preceding Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7 indicates that a particular party had foreknowledge of the impending attack and used that information to directly profit from the panic that ensued.

The paper, authored by Robert J. Jackson Jr. of New York University School of Law and Joshua Mitts of New York University School of Law, concludes that based on a “significant spike” in short selling of listed Israeli companies, persons unknown were aware of the operation was impending, and sought to profit illicitly. Short selling – or shorting – allows traders to bet a stock will perform poorly and reap rewards if they’re correct.

Erdogan warns Israel of 'heavy price' if it targets Hamas in Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Israel on Wednesday that it would pay a huge price if it tries to hunt down Hamas leaders in Turkey.

Earlier this week, Ronen Bar, the head of Israel's domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet, said in a voice recording that Israel is determined to kill Hamas leaders “in every location", including Turkey.

“In Gaza, in the West Bank, in Lebanon, in Turkey, in Qatar, everyone,” he said in recordings aired by the Kan public broadcaster on Sunday evening. “It will take a few years, but we will be there in order to do it.”

In response, Erdogan told journalists who accompanied him during a trip to Qatar on Tuesday: “They do not know the Turks. They don't know us… If they commit such a mistake, they should know that they will pay a very heavy price for it.

“If they dare to take such a step against Turkey and the Turks, they will be condemned to pay the price, never to be able to stand up again.

"Those who attempt such a thing should remember that the consequences can be extremely serious. There is no one in the world who does not know the progress Turkey has made in both the field of intelligence and security."

Hamas members living in Turkey are part of the Palestinian movement's political leadership, not part of the military wing, and many relocated to Turkey after the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal in 2011.

Follow Middle East Eye's live coverage for the latest on the Israel-Palestine war

Turkey initially criticised Hamas for the 7 October attack and asked its leaders to temporarily leave the country.

However, Israel’s devastating bombing campaign in Gaza, which has seen at least 16,000 people killed, mostly women and children, has forced Ankara to take a tougher stance on Israel.

Erdogan has withdrawn Turkey’s ambassador for consultations and said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should stand trial for committing war crimes. He also accused the Israeli army of conducting a terror campaign in Gaza.

    No punitive steps so far

Turkey has so far avoided taking punitive steps against Israel, as trade continues and diplomatic channels remain open.

However, the Israeli intelligence agency’s threats are risking a disruption of dialogue with Turkish intelligence, which was the architect of the recent normalisation between the two countries, beginning in 2020.

The Turkish intelligence agency, MIT, said in a statement to the media on Tuesday that it has the capabilities to thwart potential attacks.

Various news reports in the past year have indicated that Turkey exposed and arrested spy rings run by Israeli intelligence officers to collect information on Palestinians living in Turkey.

Since the conflict erupted, Erdogan has repeatedly offered to play the role of middleman and help negotiate an end to the hostilities.

He also said on Tuesday that Ankara is ready to host an international conference to discuss its proposal of “guarantor system” to the conflict, and support a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, as suggested by international law.

Relations between Israel and Turkey improved late last year with the countries exchanging ambassadors, following years of security and intelligence cooperation.

Ties between the two first soured in 2011, when Turkey expelled Israel's ambassador after a UN report into Israel's raid on the Mavi Marmara aid ship to Gaza in 2010, which killed nine Turkish nationals.

The rift was healed in 2016 when full diplomatic relations were restored and both countries reinstated their ambassadors.

Tensions were renewed in 2018 when Israeli forces killed scores of Palestinians taking part in the Great March of Return protests in Gaza. The protesters demanded the implementation of the right of return and an end to the crippling siege on Gaza.

Families of Israeli captives clash with Netanyahu during tense meeting

A cabinet meeting on 5 December between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, freed captives and the families of those still held in Gaza since 7 October ended in furore, according to reports in Israeli media.

Anger directed at Netanyahu could be heard in voice recordings from the meeting, with families accusing Israeli leaders of putting their political careers before the lives of the captives.

Some of those present at the meeting walked out in anger, while others described a tense atmosphere where voices were raised at Netanyahu.

The meeting had finally taken place at the request of the families of the captives, after being postponed three times. The families had demanded that the war cabinet also be present at the meeting with the prime minister.

Danny Miran, the father of captive Omri Miran, said that the meeting was “chaotic”.

“The meeting was a model of how the country is run. We were invited for 3 pm; they showed up only at 3:45 pm. They let us get mad and fight amongst ourselves - I left in the middle, it’s not acceptable,” he said.

Others who were present at the meeting, held in Herzliya, said that Netanyahu did not directly engage with any of their demands, and was reading mostly from a piece of paper. Recordings have meanwhile revealed that those present screamed at him in some instances.

In the recordings, Netanyahu told families that it was not presently a possibility to bring everyone home.

“Can anyone really imagine that if it was an option, anyone would refuse it?” he asked, angering those present, who included some of the captives released during a temporary truce last week.

“Hamas has demands that even you would not accept.”

    'Air strikes don't bother them'

In an excerpt broadcast on Israeli Channel 12, the mother of a captive shouted at Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, demanding that he promise to bring back the captives alive.

“I’m not prepared to sacrifice my son for your career or for those of any of the notables here. Really not. My son did not volunteer to die for the homeland. He was a civilian abducted from his home and his bed,” she said.

The sentiment was shared by Simcha Goldin, the father of Hadar Goldin, an Israeli army soldier who was killed during the war on Gaza in 2014, and whose body has been held since.

“How many more Hadar Goldins and Ron Arads will there be?” he shouted at the ministers, in reference to his son and to another Israeli soldier who has been considered missing in Lebanon since 1986.

Meanwhile, others criticised the war cabinet for the way they have mishandled the hostage situation, and said that the sound of air strikes in Gaza was terrifying.

“Air strikes exploded above us and the Hamas operatives just kept sleeping. Your air strikes don’t bother them,” said Aviva Siegel, who was released from Gaza last week, and whose husband is still held in captivity.

According to the Israeli Ynet News, other released captives at the meeting included Raz Ben Ami, whose husband Ohad is still held captive; Sharon Cunio, whose husband David and other family members are also still in captivity; Yarden Roman-Gat, whose sister-in-law Carmel Gat is held captive; and Irena Tati and her daughter Yelena Trufanov, whose son Sasha is still in captivity.

The freed captives reiterated that they were held in locations close to where Israeli air strikes were being targeted.

In quotes provided by Channel 12, Cunio is reported to have told ministers she felt that they had "no idea what’s even going on there at all. You claim that you have intelligence but the fact is we were bombed. My husband was separated from me three days before I was freed.”

She added that “you are putting politics above returning the hostages,” and she had watched captives die next to her.

‘Soul of my soul’ Palestinian grandfather helps injured people in hospital

Khaled Nabhan, the grieving Palestinian grandfather who touched hearts worldwide as he bid farewell to his granddaughter Reem, is seen volunteering at a hospital, quietly helping and comforting patients brutally injured by Israeli air strikes.

Last month, a video of Khaled emerged of him kissing the lifeless body of his three-year-old granddaughter Reem, calling her ‘the soul of my soul.’ Reem and her five-year-old brother Tareq were both killed when an Israeli airstrike demolished their home in southern Gaza.

British-Palestinian surgeon condemns HRW report on Al-Ahli Hospital

A British-Palestinian surgeon, Professor Ghassan Abu Sitta, criticized a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital strike in Gaza, describing it as "unfounded".

He stated that the report lacked a genuine investigation, conclusive evidence, and reliability, as HRW did not contact the hospital director or the doctor who received Israeli evacuation orders.

Abu Sitta emphasized that HRW did not interview witnesses of the incident and cautioned against relying on HRW as a trustworthy source “as it serves the enemy."

Professor Ghassan Abu Sitta made the remarks during a lecture titled “The destruction of Gaza’s health sector: confronting devastation and forced displacement” in the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday.

The HRW report, on November 26, suggested that a misfired Gaza rocket was likely responsible for the bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital on October 17, resulting in numerous casualties.

Professor Ghassan Abu Sitta, who traveled to Gaza with Doctors Without Borders on October 9 to provide surgical assistance, has shared distressing accounts of the healthcare challenges faced by Palestinian civilians amid the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip. It is worth noting that he worked as a surgeon in both Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals in Gaza.

Hamas slams HRW report on Baptist Hospital, invites org. to Gaza

Palestinian Resistance factions, including Hamas, have condemned, on November 27, the recent report released by Human Rights Watch (HRW), which concludes that a misfired Resistance rocket killed hundreds of civilians in Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, without reviewing any material evidence from the site of the attack.

Hamas released a statement deploring HRW's initial report regarding "the Israeli aggression against hospitals in Gaza, especially [al-Ahli Baptist Hospital]," which took place on October 17.

The Resistance movement said the HRW's report adopted the Israeli narrative of the events, holding the Palestinian Resistance responsible for the atrocity "without providing clear material evidence."

Moreover, Hamas stressed that the organization "ignored the Israeli policy of systematic targeting of hospitals, which affected all hospitals in the Gaza Strip."

Hamas called on HRW to review the unfounded conclusions it made in the report, adding that it welcomes "the organization to visit Gaza and directly investigate the incident" once the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip ends.

The movement reminded HRW of several investigations conducted by international organizations, which held "Israel" responsible for the attack.

On its part, al-Mujahideen Movement denounced HRW's biased report on the incident, saying that the international organizations' readiness to adopt Israeli narratives makes them complicit in Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people. The movement stressed that the report goes hand in hand with Western and American narratives, which justify and encourage the occupation's aggression against medical institutions and civilians.

HRW fails to live up to its obligations

Human Rights Watch released its initial report, on November 27, whereby it claimed that the strike on Al-Ahli Hospital "resulted from an apparent rocket-propelled munition, such as those commonly used by Palestinian armed groups, that hit the hospital grounds."

However, the organization did admit that its investigation was limited to "publicly available photos and videos, analyzing satellite imagery, interviewing five witnesses to the incident and its aftermath, reviewing analyses published by other organization and consulting experts."

Importantly, the organization failed to collect any material evidence from the attack and has instead referenced the Israeli narrative on the incident. Moreover, its analysis has clearly ignored and failed to address several points put out by organizations and media outlets, which provide evidence of "Israel's" responsibility for the attack.

Evidence that highlights the speed at which the ammunition exploded at the time of impact, the size of the explosion and the resulting crater, and video footage that debunked Israeli propaganda that a barrage of rockets was launched momentarily before Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was bombed were not addressed in the report.

Instead, the organization attempted to patch up a ragged Israeli narrative, via unfounded and unverified claims. Analyzing geolocations and satellite imagery has allowed several media outlets such as the British Channel 4 to provide evidence of "Israel's" responsibility for the attack.

Al Mayadeen English had previously put out a report analyzing several factors that point to "Israel's" responsibility for the massacre, which killed at least 500 people.

HRW failed to extensively investigate these factors and has instead depended on superficial assumptions to make its conclusions.

White House interns denounce Gaza genocide, demand ceasefire in letter

A cohort of White House interns, in a letter addressed to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, urged the administration to push for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The letter, supported by over 40 interns from the Fall 2023 term working across White House and executive offices, accuses Biden of neglecting the "pleas of the American people." The interns specifically mention the ongoing aggression on Gaza and describe it as a "genocide of the Palestinian people."

They demanded the administration to heed the voices of the American people and call for a permanent ceasefire. The letter reflects growing internal pressure on Biden regarding his stance on "Israel's" aggression and invasion, which has received backlash and threats of abandonment in his reelection.

“We heed the voices of the American people and call on the Administration to demand a permanent ceasefire,” the letter said. “We are not the decision makers of today, but we aspire to be the leaders of tomorrow, and we will never forget how the pleas of the American people have been heard and thus far, ignored.”

The writers remained anonymous and opted to sign by their presidential office, as in, Executive Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President, and the Domestic Policy Council, as well as their identities, like "Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Black, Asain, Latin, Arab..."

The letter to Biden also explained that the interns joined his administration with the belief in shared values and the potential for America, under his leadership, to stand for justice and peace. However, their words strongly suggest that they currently do not see him upholding these values.

Despite the administration expressing support for the humanitarian pause, the interns argue that anything less than a complete cessation of "Israel's" extensive killing of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip is inadequate. They are urging the Biden-Harris administration to call for an immediate permanent ceasefire, the release of all captives, detainees, and prisoners, including Palestinian political prisoners, and to endorse a diplomatic solution that would end the illegal occupation and Israeli apartheid in compliance with international law for a free Palestine.

Read more: State Dept officials criticize Biden's Middle East policy: Politico

Over 400 US officials sign letter against Biden's 'Israel' policy

Joe Biden has received hundreds of messages similar to the one written by the interns over the last month.

Most notably, a letter to President Biden was signed by more than 400 political appointees and employees from over 40 government departments expressing their disapproval of his blind support for "Israel" and its war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

The letter urges Biden to push for a ceasefire and pressure "Israel" to allow humanitarian aid and is part of a larger campaign of dissatisfaction with Biden's support for the occupation.

Previously, an open letter was signed by over a thousand employees of the US Agency for International Development, in addition to three internal memos addressed to Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, signed by numerous State Department employees.

The letter clarifies that the signatories are anonymous because of "concern for our personal safety and risk of potentially losing our jobs."

Rabbi unveils controversial perspective: Zionism and the core of Israel's warfare

A prominent Rabbi speaks about the core reason behind Israel's actions in Gaza. The controversial stance emphasises the ‘duty to conquer’ and the prioritisation of this mandate over the Sabbath. In his speech, the Rabbi says even if Israel were not under threat or defending itself, and even if the residents of Gaza were ‘constantly offering us flowers,’ they must wage war on them to ‘take back the land of Israel’.

I thought this guy was maybe a side attraction, like the farm leagues or something, but, it is a breath of fresh air:

Quote The Islamic Jihad resistance movement said Palestinian fighters have “taken Israel by surprise” on the battlefield across the Gaza Strip by inflicting heavy losses on the occupying regime.

Abu Hamza, spokesman for the Saraya Al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, said that the Palestinian resistance is in "very good condition" and maintains readiness and strength to confront the enemy on all fronts in Gaza, presstv reported.

He added that resistance fighters destroyed a large number of Israeli vehicles, which were advancing East of Gaza City as well as Khan Yunis and Al-Qarara, and managed to inflict heavy casualties on the enemy ranks.

“Media reports about [the power of] Saraya Al-Quds forces is only a small part of what is waiting for the enemy. Our fighters’ operations and ambushes against the enemy on all fronts of the conflict continue and are at their peak,” Hamza warned.

He also assured the Palestinian people that Saraya Al-Quds and other resistance groups were still operating well on the battlefield.

Separately, Islamic Jihad Spokesman Musab Al-Berim said the enemy is “taken by surprise” on all fronts in the war, predicting that the resilience of Palestinian fighters would force Israel to end its aggression.

The occupying regime will be forced to stop the war if it wants to return its captives from Gaza, he noted.

Berim further said the Israelis “have no goal but to take revenge on civilians, something that shows the height of the Zionists’ humiliation and cowardice and will inflict a heavy defeat on their military”.

Palestinian people continue to fight and resist after two months of onslaught by the Zionist enemy on Gaza, forcing the occupiers to change their plans, he emphasized.

He probably has strategically defeated them already.

Perhaps I could convert to Judaism in order to join Islamic Jihad, smoke cigarettes with an armadillo, and play the oud.

Not sure yet. I am still curious about the paucity of actions on anyone's part. After all, Russia reacted when Ukraine was shooting "its own country" and in years the casualties reached maybe half of what has already happened in a no man's land that is sort of an ersatz Israel.

I suppose it is just because it is surrounded by states that are not that much of major military powers. You can see what Turkey is willing to do around its own borders, it's not small, they have a lot of powerful stuff, but it doesn't touch Israel so no worries.

It may have limited time to prevent a permanent assault from Hezbollah and Yemen. If the surrounding states do nothing to intervene, then, eventually this Israeli advantage of isolation becomes a liability. This aspect seems rather relentless. They don't have such big stuff as the Turkish military. But for example I watched them take out a sniper the other day. The guy was in a ground floor window, which is a bit unusual, but there could be reasons for doing so. They shot him with, I'm not sure what, a type of missile that was strong enough to blow up that room exactly. Afterwards, most of the rest of the house looked intact, but anyone in that room was obliterated.

Because that missile is accurate, then, yes, it is way more dangerous than old junk.

So, no, you're not really safe from that anywhere.

That sounds close to the "long run" of this chain of events. Maybe there could be some new variable after two months of no surprises. Unless that happens inside Israel itself, I have no idea what it might be.
