Lightbulb DeepMind’s New A.I. GraphCast Beats Billion Dollar Weather Forecast For Free!

    • DeepMind’s New A.I. "GraphCast" Beats Billion Dollar Weather Forecast Systems For Free!

📝 The paper "GraphCast: Learning skillful medium-range global weather forecasting" is available here:
My Jaw gets significantly lower each time he says: "... it gets even better". What a time to be alive.

I don't think most of us understand the gravity of this development. This is a revolution in AI technology. Working on something immensely complex like the planet's weather system which is dependent on tens if not hundreds of variables is mind-numbingly difficult. Moreover, such application has a direct, tangible impact on lives of people. Even if the predictions are half good in this first generation paper… Two more papers down the line, this tech might be able to give accurate predictions most of the time..

    Awesome paper...

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) firm Google DeepMind has made a significant leap in weather forecasting by introducing its machine-learning model, GraphCast. This innovative model has outperformed traditional tools and surpassed other AI approaches in the complex task of weather prediction.

GraphCast, hailed as a leader among A.I. models, can run on a desktop computer, providing predictions that are more accurate and faster than those generated by conventional models. The model’s capabilities were detailed in a Science article on November 14, drawing attention to its potential to revolutionise the landscape of weather forecasting.

This new A.I. tool might actually EXPOSE anomalies and doing the reverse of what most claim: "they can predict the weather because they manipulate the weather" (which is known to me for decades). If something happens that is NOT expected by this new free A.I. tool, it MAY prove overt and/or covert weather warfare!
