I'm kicking this thread off with a report about protests in London and the removal of the Islamic Regime flag - because it highlights the role of women pushing for change - it's not just the women, of course, but many brave citizens both men and women and it appears to be a genuine build up of resistance - an organic groundswell of rebellion against the incumbent Regime throughout the whole country...

Iranian protesters have scaled the Iranian embassy in London and torn down the flag of the Islamic regime, replacing it with the nation's flag prior to the 1979 revolution.

I was just going to post some fantasy headlines ...

Widespread uprising against the regime in Washington
Women shot three times and killed by an agent from the brutal ICE gang appointed by the dictator president in USA
The brutal dictator in Washington, when not making a display of signing a pile of executive orders, plots to claim Greenland as his own territory (will he rename it Trumpland?) claiming that if he does not 'take it', Russia or China will (neither country has ever shown interest in doing such a thing), and warns that he will use force to take the territory if he has to
...

The problem with this bias and agenda in the narratives spun by the West is that the USA especially follows up with assassinations, bombing campaigns, brutal sanctions, invasions, and often ends up occupying a foreign country. To any Americans who are hating me, I assure you that if anyone starts spreading a narrative about invading or bombing the USA (I doubt they will, but ...), I will vigorously oppose the idea and make every effort to stop the idea taking root (thought ... words ... action). Sanctions and diplomatic isolation I would not oppose, but no military attacks or invasion, and I would also oppose outside-influenced regime change of any kind.

Clearly this is going to be a complicated + difficult situation to fully understand and analyse - with confusion and division coming in from all angles - (which I suppose is to be expected) - it may be a long time before it all unravels and at the moment communications have been shut down in Iran - internally and with the wider world...

Mahyar Tousi is from Iran and came to Britain as a child years ago - he does his Channel 'Tousi TV' and is reporting a lot about the present developments - he is railing against GBNews (@around 8 mins) and the interview that I randomly used for the Opening Post - and doesn't support Laila Jazayeri or the woman Mariam Rajavi that Jazayeri spoke about -

like I said this is all going to get complicated..... as different factions get involved and as Western Media (and it's Internet associates) does it's best to manipulate perceptions to benefit the Deep State Globalist Agenda...

I must be crazy starting this thread - but I did feel momentous events in Iran (however confusing) needed a separate focus and as things stand at the moment it's anyone's guess where it could all lead....

There's been a lot of commentary in the regular video updates from Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris, as well as the regular contributors on Judge Napolitano's channel and Nima Alkhorshid's channel Dialogue Works. (Nima lives in Brazil, but is Iranian and has returned there recently to try to find out what's really been happening.)

As best I understand, the situation is pretty confused with so much propaganda of various kinds (including some, but not all, of the widely circulated 'protest videos' being old and deliberately falsely attributed), and it's not very easy to know how serious the situation really is.

As Mahyar points out it /was/ a protest for a couple of days, but then the islamic government declared war therefore it's now a civil war NOT a protest.

As Mayhar points out: the mainstream support for the islamic regime is crazy. Even GB news hosted a talking head from an actual jihadist organisation to sew damage limitation propaganda. In his video below he rants how GB news platformed the jihadist in an unchallenging so called 'interview'.

It's this mix of rainbow peace and abstract intellectual fence sitting that gives me the heebee jeebies. It's a manufactured egregorial vice. A while ago, I attended a gathering for Finns in the USA, hosted by a Finnish woman who is married to a college professor. I met a delightful Iranian woman. She goes to Tehran annually to see her friends and family. During our conversation, she was describing her thoughts on her last visit, a little over a year ago. She was very emotional as she described her homeland, which she still deeply loves. She is in her mid-60s, and she lives with her husband and their son, who is a professor at a major American university. His wife was hosting the party.

Here's a brief summary of what she shared:

• Most families know someone who has been questioned by the police, detained or even imprisoned.
• People are afraid to speak openly about the government or officials due to fear of repercussions. This fear extends to family and close friends.
• The inflation rate in Iran is out of control.
• There is a severe drought affecting the country.
• Iran is experiencing an energy crisis, with gasoline shortages.
• Although food seems plentiful, it has become very expensive.
• Some goods are difficult to find.

She described the atmosphere as tense and unstable, calling it a "tinderbox." She also mentioned that Tehran no longer feels like the city she remembers; it’s become dirty from trash and suffers from poor air quality. As she recounted these issues, she was crying. There was much more to the conversation but the above info is what I took away.

After scanning several news sources, this seems to be what most legitimate sources are saying.

Iranian officials have warned that protesters involved in "riots" could face charges of "moharebeh" or "waging war against God," which carries the death penalty.

• Casualties and Arrests: Human rights groups report a significant death toll.
• As of January 11, 2026, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported at least 203 people killed, including 41 security personnel, and over 3,285 arrests.
• Other groups like the Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) have reported at least 192 protester deaths. Iranian state media has reported that at least 109 security personnel have been killed.

First off..... the 2nd bit above - yes I learned a quick lesson with that, about how complicated all this was going to get - with different groups wanting to step into the anticipated power vacuum....

Yes.........and no...... ........It looks crazy on the face of it but it's perfectly logical that the mainstream will try to support the Islamic Regime in Iran in ways that it can - because the Deep State Globalist Elite are in control of the MSM and an alliance between Fundamental Islam and the Corporate Left + Communist/Socialist organizations - appears to be in operation behind closed doors - probably because a future Islamic State would (if they get it off the ground) help the One World Government to control populations of the Middle East...??...{speculation...}
