    Life by Charlotte Bronte

LIFE, believe, is not a dream
    So dark as sages say;
    Oft a little morning rain
    Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
    But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall ?

    Rapidly, merrily,
    Life's sunny hours flit by,
    Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly !

What though Death at times steps in
And calls our Best away ?
What though sorrow seems to win,
    O'er hope, a heavy sway ?
    Yet hope again elastic springs,
    Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
    Manfully, fearlessly,
    The day of trial bear,
    For gloriously, victoriously,
    Can courage quell despair !

live life to its fullness and remember that sadness will one day fade and happyness will follow
    love
    m

    Who Am I?

My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
    universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
    destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
    reading "Keep Off."
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
    in the universe.

    Carl Sandburg

just had to share this one, really beautiful, i felt it spoke to me

here's one I wrote awhile back....

Hey it's Autumn you know it's red Moon season
there's no need for logic & reason
Close your eyes & picture a bird do you see the mockingbird?
She sings us stories of mysteries unheard
of thoughts, dreams, & vision crystallized in words

    Hi All,

The inspiration for this poem came from my connection with wynderer Nov. 21st 2006:

I am in love with a Dakini Miss.
To be in her presence is Pure Bliss.
To be away from her Unresolved Emptiness.
To be without her at all undeniably Death's Kiss.
Am I one to live with such Miserable Miserliness.
To squeeze her Hand, to kiss her Lips.
To marry her forever is my Undying Wish.

here for you, when your hanging onto the last star in the sky
I'll hold your hand with hope
here for you,as the tears well up and fall down to earth
I'll squeeze them all out with a hug

here for you,if you can't seem to find the words to say
I'll take your breath away with a kiss
here for you, when your fists are closed and teeth are clenched
I'll open my heart and invite you in

here for you,if your ready to give it all up
I'll show you what you've given me
here for you,if the dream you bought turned out a trap
And so, i'll show you the key to your escape

Summer sun drys up the valley pond
A cloud forms potential in winter songs
    Alchemy, a transmutation initiates
Enlightened to new heights falls the white in pace
Rests, meditates, and reflects the sun
Preserving life in the cold dry months
Soon at spring the summit snow slips down
The carved out path down with soothing sound
Carrying minerals to its home again
Stirs up the sea and feeds its family friends
Like the path of a philisopher so the mountain is
    Ascends, Illuminates, and back again
A climb only the fiuid so choose to make
Like water forms to a rock to create
    A bond like no other
Once you realize you are a part of your brother
Only then you become like the eagle
And so Ascent is eased with wings of freedom

    A Simple Poem
    ----------------------
    The wisdom to see
    The truth of Reality
    In touch with Green
Tara, the trees and the seas.

    Compassion is the Key
That unlocks the door for me
    May all beings be happy
    May all beings be free.

The inspiration for this poem also came from my connection with wynderer (circa 2005):

    Past Meeting Future

The threads of my past lives
I can feel them in my bones
It's the meeting of my future wife
    Yet I still don't know

    In life's many guises
    Lies a myriad of surprises
    And whatever rises
    I must let it go
    Until it returns again

Two lines come from a Tai Situ Rinpoche (and 7th Karmapa) from the past:

    In the face of Death.
    Lies intolerable compassion
having lost what one never had
one gains what one never had
    Everything Else Remains The Same
May the meaning of its empty essence
    nakedly shine forth

Those two lines are from a Mahamudra prayer.

Wow this thread existed! I'm a happy lad.

Here is one, it's a prayer actually. Prayer of Saint Francis.

    ~
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
    Where there is injury, pardon.
    Where there is doubt, faith.
    Where there is despair, hope.
    Where there is darkness, light.
    Where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master,
    grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
    to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

    Amen.

    ~

Because I'm a big fan of sufi poetry, I will post this one as well.

    ~

Intoxicated by the Wine of Love.
From each a mystic silence Love demands.
What do all seek so earnestly? 'Tis Love.
What do they whisper to each other? Love.
Love is the subject of their inmost thoughts.
In Love no longer 'thou' and 'I' exist,
For Self has passed away in the Beloved.
Now will I draw aside the veil from Love,
And in the temple of mine inmost soul,
    Behold the Friend; Incomparable Love.
He who would know the secret of both worlds,
Will find the secret of them both, is Love.

    - Farid ud Din Attar

    ~
The more I learn .. The less I know

    Live without pretending
    Love without depending
    Listen without defending
    Speak without offending

    We applied our breaks
But each other's car we broke
I didn't want you to be broke
So I gave you a break

    UPDATE/(context)
This is from the heart, this happened to me. Crashed Monday, three days later we finished negotiating our settlement without any insurance claims. My car's a write-off but he managed to clip his back together. I still have a piece of his car stuck between my headlamp and the bodywork, I should give that back. My car cost £500, his he bought two days ago (Monday) and cost £600. This is why I love cheap cars. We both survived without injury, but I had to swerve to achieve that. Counting my blessings. Bonus that we have an amiable settlement

    Secret of the Holy Grail?
    No secret.
It is in front of you all the way.
    NO BIRTH, NO DEATH.
    NO BONDAGE.

    Contemplate and realize!
Let the false light go about it's own dance.
And let the Eternal Light shine in all it's glory and majesty.

    Only the Beautiful...

Only the beautiful can feel ugly
for the ugly have never felt beautiful, nor do they care
the beautiful don't truly feel beautiful , maybe just lucky
and so envy the ugly who are beautiful
    for they haven't a care

Wrote this as part of a message to a friend, 2 days ago, about finally making an ice candle-lamp. Please see post #15 in the thread “fun hobbies”, page link below.

    My second night with candlelight.
It’s been a long long time,
    but over time and overnight
it came to whisper, still and bright.
    It came again to shine.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
    William Ernest Henley

Life is short, and I’ve shortened mine
in a thousand delicious, ill-advised ways,
    a thousand deliciously ill-advised ways
I’ll keep from my children. The world is at least
fifty percent terrible, and that’s a conservative
estimate, though I keep this from my children.
For every bird there is a stone thrown at a bird.
For every loved child, a child broken, bagged,
sunk in a lake. Life is short and the world
is at least half terrible, and for every kind
