What IS this creature we saw?!

Oh, I´m nervous.
This is my first thread. Bare with my spelling errors and scatter-maner.


I want to tell you what my husband and I saw one night,some years back. And to ask your opinion to what it might have been;


We were standing in our kitchen, my husband was doing the washing up. I was behind him,a little to the side. I,was talking and his head was turned half towards me,to be able to hear me over the running water.
Suddenly he froze and his eyes grew wide. I followed his stare and there,in our hallway, a pitch-black....creature, casually strolled by!

It was completley black. Nothing stood out from its (his ? I percieved it as a him.) body. No visible hair,chlotes etc etc.
It was about 70 cm tall ( about 28 inches if I counted that correctly). No eyes,or gleaming of eyes. I dont recall ears sticking out or nose.
It was perfectly proportioned,like a human being. Slender,arms and legs in perfect harmony.
It walked with perfect ease,almost nonchalant.
It did not seem to see us,or at least care about us (maybe it is used to not being seen?).

We followed it with our eyes until it went out of our sight (about 1,5 - 2 meters).

I did not even get scared. I was baffled! I turned to hubby and went,something like;

" Was that.....?!?" " Did we see....?!?" " Am I....?!"...."What the.....!!"....

He just nodded,face white and mouth open. I went after the....thing,into the livingroom,but it was gone. I did not search for it,behind sofa etc,I was not that brave.

It seemingly,came from outside (door locked),passed our hall and vanished into the livingroom.


We have no drog-alcohol-psychiatric problems. And we both agreed on what we saw almost perfectly ( I initially thought the creature was smaller,but my husband cut out a cardboard piece of about 70 cm,and I could see he was about right in his estamate).

I have had strange encounters of a spiritual (? footsteps,banging/knocking sounds,heavy breathing etc) nature. But this seems different. In swedish I call it "naturespirit". Could this be one of those?


So..Has anyone seen anything like this also? Does anyone know what this could be?

It sounds like something was just passing through. If you both saw it during normal waking hours then I'd be inclined to think it was something physical rather than astral.

Have their been any similar sightings in your area?

It was very late (dont recall why) about 2am.
And I have never heard anyone seeing anything like that,no. But then,Im not sure it is something you would tell others about?


It really looked like it was "going about its own business". Very at home and normal,if you understand what I mean.

This is a tough one. Very rare, very ambiguous. When I was about 14 or so I remember seeing something very similar in my house. It was about 6'1 or so, and looked like a black silhouette, somebody just standing there staring at me at the other end of the hall, also a male energy. It was about 10 or 11pm and the lights were off so it was hard to see, but I didn't need to see anything because there was already a lot of spiritual activity in my house following a stupid ghost hunt me and some friends did at a cemetery within a Catholic Monastery.......

I am not sure the house itself was haunted. I may have been though. The very heavy breething I experienced in previous homes,also appeared in this one. Do not recall if it was before or after the creature.

Have you got the time to tell me of the ghost hunt? Just for fun?

"Working with you has made me realise that our reality is like a movie projector showing us images on a three diimensional screen of sky, mountains and seas. Maybe you and your husband got a sneak peek into that other reality - and maybe that being didn't see you because he was in his own world and totally unaware of yours.

No 6'1 as in about 6 feet 1 inch.......185 cm or so. The ghost hunt.....it's quite a long story so I think I'll post another thread about it and let you know when that's done so as not to hijack this one

Yes,I have thought about that..

There may have been another sighting of it,before this one. It is a bit embarassing to tell,but I´ll try;

When I told my sister about this,she reminded me of a "glögg"-party we had had a year earlier. ( glögg is mulled wine in english, I believe)
We were at the kitchen table talking,a lot of Glögg had been consumed, and we saw something pass the doorway (same ,to the hall),my sister said "What the h** is that?!" I replied it must have been a cat. " But it was on two legs?!?"... " Well,it MUST be a cat right!? What else would it be??" I replied... She said; "But..it walked..like....upright..it...did it not?" I was so tired,and not a little foggy,so I just said;
" Well,I know we dont have a cat...but,I mean...It m u s t have been one..."..

We left it at that and soon went to bed,but I had forgotten about it until she reminded me. It was so funny..:D

Morgaine have you ever had the history of your house and the land on which it stands done? It would be an idea to do some historical research, spirits sometimes can be trapped unable to go forward due to something traumatic that has happened.

1" = 2.54 cm
6' 1" (73" x 2.54) = 1.85 metres (approx.)

No we have not. It was / is an appartment building. And I dont know when it was built,but I dont believe it was very old,maybe from the 40-50´s. Some km away is a myth-rich mountain though Omberg.[COLOR="red"]

Hi, after I had a similar experience when I was just falling asleep one night this year, I did alot of research on this & the growling sound I heard. What comes to mind is: "Shadow people" - supernatural shadow-like humanoid figures. They are sometimes regarded in modern folklore and paranormal popular culture as malicious or evil spirits. You can do some research & see if you think I am right.
Its unusual for another person to see them too - but I think this is a GOOD THING as you don't want your spouse thinking you are crazy!

I did read a little of these Shadow People. I really dont know,it does not "feel" right,but it may well be. From what I understood these were human sized..things. I saw a photograph that was pretty scary.

If so? Shadow beings have also been described as forms of ghosts, demons, inter-dimensional beings.

The most popular explanation seems to be that they are some sort of other-dimensional beings whose dimension of origin occasionally overlaps with ours, which is said to explain their ethereal appearance and fleeting nature.

You lucky to have caught such a long glimpse, normally you catch sight of them in the corner of your eye and when you turn to get a better view they dissappear!
