in Swedish aren't they known as Tomte? seems like I remember from a childhood tale...

Maybe, a Tomte is a gnome I believe. And I guess they could look like this. The ones I have heard of though,seems to have been grey.

My paternal grandmother was born in a rural area of Sweden in 1891, and when I was a boy she told me stories of the Tomtar, small beings that took the appearance of old, bearded men. Tomtar were no more than 3 feet tall and wore pointed hats, which we’ve of course come to associate with gnomes and similar creatures. Legend tells that Tomtar were capable of invisibility and could shapeshift, sometimes taking the appearance of a large, grown man.

Also, according to legend — and Grandma Alice’s stories — Tomtar would usually be found on a farm and would carry out chores at night and help care for the farmer’s animals. It was thought to be bad luck to see one, but my grandmother claimed that she would often find his small footprints in the snow or mud around her home.

Although basically a benevolent spirit, Tomtarna were easily offended and could be vindictive. If, for example, Tomten felt that the farmer was mistreating his livestock, heard swearing in the barn, or neglecting to clean up a mess, he would become incensed and cause mischief. Items around the house were found broken, the milk curdled, even the cows’ tails tied together. Tomtar also became angered and would seek revenge if they were seen or if the farmer and his family failed to leave a bowl of porridge and butter out for him on Christmas Eve. My grandmother and her family used to follow this tradition, leaving out porridge with butter for Tomten each Christmas Eve.

My grandmother was quite insistent that the gnome-like Tomtarna were not merely the stuff of fairytale and legend, but real beings that occupied the farms and rural landscapes of Sweden. It was these stories that contributed to my lifelong fascination with tales of diminutive humanoids. Originally coming out of the pagan traditions regarding “earth spirits” and the worship of the natural world, Tomtarna later became associated with ungodly or heathen beliefs after the Christianization of Scandinavia. However, despite the sometimes negative association, they have remained a popular figure in Swedish folklore. link

kersley -- you have natural mediumistic abilities. And we all have spirit guides or guardians. Where they hail from, what dimensions, even what worlds, who knows? All I know is that they are there. They are always there. And you probably have heard them talking to you. They usually come through as the "voice of your conscience" or the "voice of reason." Never the negative voices you hear, though.

Shadow people, shadow creatures. I've seen them. They usually come through as neutral in feeling to me, neither positive nor negative. I've seen many different sizes, too, all the way down to the size of a cat or small dog. My children have, in the past, seen them as well. One used to stand at the end of their bed. Perhaps one of the reasons they always woke up in the same bed, no matter that they were put to bed separately. LOL.

Carmody, I would love to hear more of your theory about the ley lines, and where you came by that map of Sweden. Are there others that are better than the grainy old general ones I've seen around, others such as that, of other parts of the world?

awesome thread, wow that would have scared me, but the thing is, about a week ago I saw a shadow figure in my family room. I was the only one home, and it only appeared for a few seconds then it was gone. I was not frightened at all just mainly curious. It was a tall male with a fadora, just like in those pics. I had never heard of hat man until this thread, so its validating to see this come to light.

And I agree with whoever said, that in these times of higher strangeness, I too believe we are seeing more and more other/dimentional beings, either they are passing through our dimention, but I am leaning more on the , we are passing through theirs. The earth is certainly on an interesting journey, and we are on it too.

Remember peoples - 3rd demenionsal realities are falling away and we are all moving up to 4th and 5th demensions. As we move forward into the higher vibrational realities the lower astral entities cannot hold their invisibility cloaks and are becoming visible. So with the reptilian entities, UFO's, angels etc.
They are having a problem holding their human facades and are morphing back into their real natures. So with their language, many are having a problem when speaking. when I saw this thread I had to register I`ve been trying for about 2 weeks just so I can get this particular occurance off my chest so to speak
I dont speek about this only my close family knows wife and two grown sons.I`m sitting here my eyes are watering and the hair on my neck is standing up and my heart is racing and there is tingling in my arms and legs.
When I was 21 I was sharing a house with a mate and his wife .We had moved into a quite dead end streat in the suberb of Campsie Sydney Australia,the house number was 16 but I don`t want to mention the name of the street. we took the lease because it was unusually long so we took it for 12 months. Every thing was fine for about eight months then a couple of weird things started to happen, it started with heavy thumping on the side of the house at all hours middle of the day or night it didn`t matter but the strange thing was that when you went out to have a look there would be nothing there and then the thumping would start fron the other end of the house so you would go out but there would be nothing then it would stop ,we all thought it was a bit wierd ,possibly some mates playing a trick or something, as time progressed the lease came up for renewal so we took it for another year . Then strange things started to happen more frequently ,not only the banging but quite often you could hear voices in a strange language comming from the corner of the loung room,this would even happen during the day when there were visitors ,it didn`t seem to matter,it actually used to come up in conversation with the regulars.It got to the stage that nobody would spend a night alone in the house when we started to see a hooded figure float down the hall way ,I personally witnessed it twice,you would clearly see it in you periferal vision but the apperition would vanish when you looked straight on. Sorry I have a knot in my stomach recalling this.
In the house there were two large sliding doors to a room that had a table a cupboard and a small fish tank with gold fish about 2x1x1 feet sitting on a steel frame the pump was sitting the floor my bed room was off this room
This morning I had to get up early for a job interview,I`m a sparky by trade I was getting dressed when I heard a loud rapping on the back of the house,so half dressed I went out the back to check and as usual nothing then the banging started at the front of the house so I went out the front to look and as usual nothing so I headed back down the hall walked through the two large doors only to find the water in the top of the fish tank on fire with flames reaching the ceiling ,I closed the two sliding doors and raced to the kitchen and started pulling out the pots and pans looking for the largest one ,by this time my mates wife was awake and came into the kitchen ,still rubbing the sleep from her eyes and said what the bloody hell is the racket about ,so I said open the doors and look, well when she did she let out a blood curddling screem as the fire had now turned the paint on the wall black and was now working on the sceeling ,rember the only thing that was alight was THE WATER IN THE TANK we put the fire out with wet towels and pots of water.
This rattled me so much I had a traffic accident on the way to the interview,but I did get the job
with in two weeks the the lease was payed out and we were all gone
As god is my witness this is all true and has not been imbellished in any way.

I`m glad thats over with,its out there now ,I`v kept that to myself for over thirty years as I have only told my wife and sons very recently

I saw one of those. I was sitting in the car with my bf and I saw it walk up to the car and (almost sounds like a joke) reach for the door handle. I gasped and then it disappeared. My bf turned to me and said "did you see that". He had seen it too. I put it on a web site called the "shadow people". The woman who had the website emailed me and wanted me to add our names but I wouldn't do it. So I guess its a "shadow" person. A ghost I suppose.

Neither of us were frightened by the shadow guy. I dont know why he was attracted to the car.

I'm not sure that the important point is WHAT you saw but THAT you saw. You can SEE! This is fantastic, such a bold step, means you are really opening up to the other worlds beyond 3D perception, and this should be honored for the acheivement that it is.

Asking what is what, is great.

Asking "how did we do that" (see it) is perhaps even better.

Makes you wonder if there's things watching us, getting glimpses of us as we do them, and freaking out over it.

Sorta puts us in perspective. We may be ghosts or even viewed as negative energies or entities to them....

Yes - boggles the mind doesn't it?

Even in our own shared reality - creatures are perceiving the reality in a completely different way to what we see as the reality due to the programming of their perceptions.

For instance, snails, whose perception is slower than ours may not have mosquitoes inhabiting their reality. Mosquitoes may share the same frequency as other beings whose perceptive intake is faster than ours....................cor, I need to go and have a cup of tea, now.

I had a similar experience,with the noise outside,I actually think I let "it" inside while I was looking to see what it was. Maybe this is common? Could this be the case with you guys?

I've been catching stuff like this in the corner of my eye lately. When I look directly its just gone. Really weird.

I've had several occasions where I wake up to a shadowy presence like this looming over me, not recently but I grew up on land that was formerly a native burial site. My brother saw them on occasion too - we both slept in the basement (i.e. underground)

Don't think they liked us being on/in their turf. You can usually dispel them with a burst of directed concious energy - they can't do much more than scare the crap out of you. When you present yourself as ready to fight they just vanish. When you blink the sleep out of your eyes and still see this shape coming at you its quite an experience though. Better than a pint of coffee.

Sounds like yours wasn't a negative entity though. Mine have been, or perhaps they've just been defensive.

AFAIK and understand, that is me. There are other possibilities, to be sure (simple dreaming premonition, for example)... but the 'circumstantial' evidence points the finger directly at me - For an entire bevy of reasons. There is the odd thread where I say a bit more.

an example is that according to this site, my horoscope energy is about 9x the average 'soul', http://astro-software.com/ ...with regard to what I have in this life or 'energetic dimensional vibration'. (the average is approx 500) Horoscopes are VERY powerful information on energetics and how the dimensions integrate with one another. How the wiring of the given brain becomes a shaped 3d (xyz) dimensional antenna system for the given soul to operate at and through. (See Micheal Newton and much much more). Eg, I've been accused of being 'Sirian' (independently on another website-when someone 'scanned' me) and that is what one 'brand' of Sirian (kinda) looks like. There are subtle golem aspects. The explanations are complex but end in simplicity - once the basics are considered. As well, I've been traveling down power lines as a form of a 'superhighway' in the sense of conscious recall, since at least the age of 25 or so, and that means at least 21 years.

So yes, you are seeing things and yes, I've been seen and yes, there is a chance that you can do similar and possibly be seen. Consciously and unconscious travel. Depends on the horoscope and the given time in your life (tied to the horoscope and position of the planets and 'gating' type doorways, regarding scalar vibrational interference patterns) when given energy patterns can be available. Horoscopes tell the tale of your basic energy (levels and types) and 'soul insertion levels and types' when you were born, and how that energy unfolds, in time, the pattern that your given life will take. Not specifics, just situations and points where energy is up or down, in the given types and ways, and then you are presented with choices or forks you can take, in life.

Fears make one sometimes regard these as 'evil' beings when it is just an undeveloped sense and energy that is observed but we have an unknown regarding conscious understanding so we inject fear into the given situation.

Your given task (dear reader) is to not let fears dictate logic and to continue to investigate, like David Icke... and just go with the data, without judgment.....until there is enough data on the table to sift through and find a pattern. Our fears will try and find a pattern (or answer) soonest, even if it is the incorrect one.

This is due to the 'fight or flight' basic emotional and body fear system FORCING an answer, in order to find a way to keep the body safe. It will do this all the time, in everything, so watch for it here (in that life component). A long view and look is essential as the situation is deep, with regard to how it (the given 'integrated' life) deals with the body fears.

"You" don't fear, the body and ego does-- and injects that into your thought formation.

To also not allow someone (including me) to dictate the idea of a pattern to you, which is the old Freemason and Illuminati trick of 'taking you from the inside track' (using ones expectations, fears, and desires) as a carrot and/or sticks..to move people and situations into the places and directions ---they want you to go.

great thread, i love reading experiences like these. After i gave birth to my twins i was living with my mom for help and support and her house has always been a hot spot for "weird" occurances. it was haunted but nothing special there, noises, things moving, wispy glimpses. the main ghost we called Charlotte and just accepted living with her. But i digress. One night when the girls were a few weeks old i was passed out on the couch and my mom came down the stairs and woke me up slightly. when i opened my eyes i saw two things at once. the only way i can describe it is i saw one thing happening with my eyes and another in my minds eye. i'm not sure which instances was seen with what but i saw a baby falling into a tin container that we used to store spare logs and a carpet we lay out when burning wood in the fireplace. but the other thing i saw was a tiny creature just a few inches tall with a stick like body and a spiny head and pointed face staring at me. its head appeared huge in comparison to the rest of its body and it ducked down into the tin. I imediatly jumped up and threw the lid off and started digging through the contents and my mom was standing there watching me and in a soft curious voice she asked me what i was doing. I had another dual moment where in my head i was looking for the creature but i heard myself saying "i have to save the baby". as i started waking up more and came out of the inbetween state i was in and i told her what i saw and she said she thought she saw a large spider crawl in there. I of course found nothing. i wasnt scared or anything. mostly confused and a little worried because a part of me still felt like i needed to save a baby, to sum it up, i was having a WTF? moment. I definitely felt like the creature projected the baby image onto me as a form of self defense. I believe it was a house elf of sorts. i realize this isnt what you saw but i thought i would share it anyway. Perhaps you had an encounter with a similar creature and its "magic" or mask was comprimised in a way so instead of seeing it straight out, you got the inbetween sight.

i also agree with what other posters are saying about the veil lifting. Whatever the spirit creatures use to hide and/or the other demisions are becoming clearer and people that are more awake are seeing more and more happenings. I find it very exciting!
