Here and Now...What's Happening?

I was thinking of starting a thread called ‘the OMAD blog’ that would describe my experiences experimenting with this as an emerging health trend .

I did it for about 12 weeks and noticed:

- some difficulties with bowels adjusting but they did
- signs of stress in major organs disappeared - health grumbles probably connected to inflammation reversed
- a great improvement in metabolic health
- suspicion that daily autophagy was very beneficial

Interestingly hard science or even a detailed article about this is hard to find . I wanted to investigate whether Ramadan was part of the reason for extraordinarily good cancer death rates in Middle Eastern affluent societies compared to European ones

Ultimately I gave up because I experienced the following

- bad sleep at night on full stomach
- brain sugar crash at work in the afternoon
- these two then contributed to a tide of negativity that was feeding through to everything else

It would be great to hear about others experiences and whether they got past the challenging effects as overall I think it’s a very healthy thing to do

I've considered this myself, though from an overall health standpoint rather than potential anti cancer benefits. I haven't actually researched it, just thought of it. I have a very close (Muslim) friend who lives in Egypt and I was surprised to hear that they fast on occasions other than Ramadan. I'll ask her about it.

I'm sure it varies per person but her diet isn't the best. She eats lots of carbs (koshary, french fries, bread, etc) and lots of sugars because after fasting she makes lots of baked goods.

I've been somewhat working towards OMAD. I'm intermittent fasting on a 18/6 schedule. I feel great!

Hi yes, confining to one big feed per day means naturally trying to balance carbs , proteins and fats in one meal . That might present issues.

Autophagy slows down and can reverse the damage in the body.

"Autophagy is a process associated with a variety of health benefits. It occurs as your body removes and replaces damaged cell components. Autophagy occurs within your body at all times. Such ways as exercising, fasting, restricting your calorie intake can stimulate the process."

A few eating tips: I wash grapes and store them in mason jars in the freezer. It makes for a nice frozen treat and it's cost effective. The same for apple cider. I freeze it in small portions. I add distilled water because now it’s too sweet for my taste. Oranges are another fruit I keep on hand.

Small changes over time nets lasting results. It takes time for the body to adjust to a new way. Many uncomfortable symptoms are part of the detox phase. Detox is an important part of the process. If you go right into a fast all that toxic material comes out of the stored fat around internal organs, under the skin and visceral fat such as gut and butt. It can be a shock on the body systems.

The first couple of times that I did a 13 day fast, I experienced full body pain, but I knew the end was near when I only felt it in back of my thighs. It was bad enough that I couldn’t sleep. So rather than break the fast, I dissolved an Advil in some water and I’d take a teaspoon of it. IIRC I only needed three applications over a 12 hours. It was enough to help me get through those first 3-4 days.

Education helped me keep going. I researched on-line and purchased books. I still read some of them to help reinforce my goal. I understand more each time I re-read the material because I’ve lived it.

The two most important things for me are: 1) I define how I want to walk the journey 2) be flexible. For example, I eat whatever when I’m with friends and family. Since April, 2021, I’m experimenting with the breatharian lifestyle. The most extreme breatharians require no food or liquids. As mentioned elsewhere, I’ve custom fit a way that works for me. I’ll know if/when it’s time to change things up.

One main goal was to eliminate the toxins in the blood, tissues, organs and cells that’s caused by rotting material and mucus and the build up of hardened deposits. It’s too much of a shock to the body to stop eating, so my plan was to take it slow.

Conundrum.

Over the course of a week, I changed out the battery of the alarm clock and reset it. After it stopped for the second time, I ordered a new one. Minutes later, I went to remove the battery and noticed it was keeping time again.

The odd part was I didn’t need to reset it. In both cases, it wasn’t the current time when it stopped.

These are two reminders on my calendar:

July 29th - Conjunction of Mar, Uranus and North Node. incredibly strong aspect in last week of July - early August. Powerful, Sudden, Shocking, Disruptive Energy.

July 31st - MARS moves into Gemini and stays for 7 months. (It’s usually only 6-8 weeks.) This is because of it's retrograde motion, so it can bring in angry words spoken. It can suggest cyber attacks as well. Gemini = mutable, air and can be scattered and easily distracted.

It’s a reminder to be aware that myself and others may be testy.

So I went to the movies for the first time since 2008 when I went to a movie called "Pan's Dream" or something like that which I thought looked interesting but only disappointed. Last night was "Hallelujah", a song that I love, a song my father's friend played live at his funeral. I thought, how can they make a whole movie about a single song without the audience getting sick of it? They did a good job for awhile, but then I walked out early because I got sick of it.

But really, I never will. At the end, Leonard got down on his knees every night to sing the song.

My first inkling that ‘entertainers’ have a certain advantage over us, was in Huck Finn’s story of his parasite “the king” and sidekick. Lots added to that file, including from Chomsky, Makow, and people here.

Was LC a good man, or was he kind of debased like the normal in the top of the entertainment industry? Anybody know?

I have liked other audio of this song. Might have been a few tears. Seeing these theatrics though, ick.
