What's the Buzz: Saving Malaysia's Bees, One Nest at a Time





Placing his bare hands into a swarm of thousands of bees, a Malaysian man uses his fingers to gently guide some of them into a rattan basket.

Ooi Leng Chye is a member of a group that saves bees and their nests when they are discovered in cities, seeking to prevent the creatures from being destroyed by those who view them as pests. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt, trousers and sandals, Ooi—whose day job is as a software developer—was relaxed as he scooped up the bees with his hands into the basket.

"I'm not afraid of them," the 48-year-old said as scores of bees buzzed around his uncovered face. "Bees only attack out of self-defence. They won't attack you for no reason—you just need to understand their behaviour."

"If we do not manage the bees properly, then maybe one day (they) will not be here anymore. Then our future generations will curse us."

NGC 2359 is an emission nebula surrounding the blazingly hot Wolf-Rayet star WR7. Although NGC 2359 has traditionally been known as Thor’s Helmet, recently it’s also earned the nickname the Baby Yoda Nebula. After all, maybe the round dome of the helmet is actually Grogu’s head and the helmet’s wings are really his unmistakable ears?

Mons Veneris
ESA have just released this image of a 376 mile panorama of Mons Veneris, the solar system's largest volcano we know about. Lots to see on this picture, despite the obvious entrances on the bottom & side of the 'so-called' volcano. Take a look in the actual crater for example & check out the surrounding areas. Bear in mind this is 16 miles high so the entrance is really, really big.
