Haha BG, you are tripping! Your lush and brutal pictorial dismissal of CG is a gem example of emotional irrational expression.

I had this on the clipboard, and was aiming to post it on the ~Feel-good Thoughts thread (which I have recently bumped out of perplexing oblivionness), because it is such an optimistic take on basically the chaos apparent in random cascading thoughts (Sheldrake-speak). I think this critter has legs, so a ranch seems the place to beam it down.

Thanks for starting up what I guess is my homepage, the visitors’ comments (it appears to allow me to contribute too!). Cool post, and Johnny T. is wrecked but not done haha.

AudioBlog: A UFO and Occupants in British Columbia, Canada

The occupant report came from Miss Doreen Kendall, who worked the night shift at Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan. She was on the second floor and said the object, which she described as circular, was just above the children’s ward, which it on the third floor. It had a silver, bowl-shaped bottom and a domed top made of some sort of clear glass or plastic that was lit up from the inside, allowing her to see into it. There were lights around it “like a necklace.”

She said she saw two figures inside that were male-like, one behind the other. She described them this way: “They looked like fine, tall, well-built men. They were dressed in tight-fitting suits of the same (dark) material that covered their heads, but their hands were bare and I noticed how human they looked. Their flesh seemed just like ours.”

Krazy Kat - Not a Blue Moon

Well that big red halfpipe is intruiging!

Blue moon lol, never thought to ask when and how that expression originated, until now. Found a page on it.

    https://wordhistories.net/2017/06/21...e-moon-origin/

    Excerpt with old-style talk:

“The term blue moon in the sense of a long or indefinite length of time is first recorded in Real Life in London, or the Rambles and Adventures of Bob Tallyho, Esq. and His Cousin, the Hon. Tom Dashall through the Metropolis (1821), by the sporting journalist and author Pierce Egan (1772-1849):

Their attention was at this moment attracted by the appearance of two persons dressed in the extreme of fashion, who, upon meeting just by them, caught eagerly hold of each other’s hand, and they overheard the following—‘Why, Bill, how am you, my hearty?—where have you been trotting your galloper?—what is your arter?—how’s Harry and Ben?—haven’t seen you this blue moon.’
[footnote:] Blue Moon—This is usually intended to imply a long time.”

    .
    .
However, I think that there may have actually been a seen (by humans) true BLUE moon. My reasoning stems from talk like this, about possible huge (“planetary”) electrical events in the past:

    All Sky Fireball Network

Yikes. Its usually a handful. Or maybe the ET's heard about the Russians pulling out of the ISS and are punishing us.

Every night, a network of NASA all-sky cameras scans the skies above the United States for meteoritic fireballs. Automated software maintained by NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office calculates their orbits, velocity, penetration depth in Earth's atmosphere and many other characteristics. On July 26, 2022, the network reported 29 fireballs. (24 sporadics, 2 alpha Capricornids, 2 southern Delta Aquarids, 1 Perseid)

In this diagram of the inner solar system, all of the fireball orbits intersect at a single point--Earth. The orbits are color-coded by velocity, from slow (red) to fast (blue).

    Saturn in Infrared from Cassini

Many details of Saturn appear clearly in infrared light. Bands of clouds show great structure, including long stretching storms. Also quite striking in infrared is the unusual hexagonal cloud pattern surrounding Saturn's North Pole. Each side of the dark hexagon spans roughly the width of our Earth. The hexagon's existence was not predicted, and its origin and likely stability remains a topic of research. Saturn's famous rings circle the planet and cast shadows below the equator. The featured image was taken by the robotic Cassini spacecraft in 2014 in several infrared colors. In 2017 September, the Cassini mission was brought to a dramatic conclusion when the spacecraft was directed to dive into the ringed giant.

    Find the New Moon

Can you find the Moon? This usually simple task can be quite difficult. Even though the Moon is above your horizon half of the time, its phase can be anything from crescent to full. The featured image was taken in late May from Sant Martí d'Empúries, Spain, over the Mediterranean Sea in the early morning. One reason you can't find this moon is because it is very near to its new phase, when very little of the half illuminated by the Sun is visible to the Earth. Another reason is because this moon is near the horizon and so seen through a long path of Earth's atmosphere -- a path which dims the already faint crescent. Any crescent moon is only visible near the direction the Sun, and so only locatable near sunrise or sunset. The Moon runs through all of its phases in a month (moon-th), and this month the thinnest sliver of a crescent -- a new moon -- will occur in two days.

Russia to Leave International Space Station 'After 2024'

Moscow said Tuesday it was leaving the International Space Station "after 2024" amid tensions with the West, in a move analysts warned could lead to a halt of Russian-crewed flights. The confirmation of the long-mooted move comes as ties unravel between the Kremlin and the West over Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine and several rounds of devastating sanctions against Russia, including its space sector.

Space experts said Russia's departure from the International Space Station would seriously affect the country's space sector and deal a significant blow to its programme of crewed flights, a major source of Russian pride.

"Of course, we will fulfill all our obligations to our partners, but the decision to leave this station after 2024 has been made," Yury Borisov, the new head of Russian space agency Roscosmos, told President Vladimir Putin, according to a Kremlin account of their meeting.

"I think that by this time we will start putting together a Russian orbital station," Borisov added, calling it the domestic space programme's main "priority".

The ISS is due to be retired after 2024 anyway, although US space agency NASA says it can remain operational until at least 2030.
