The federal government no longer, including people at the Pentagon, no longer criticize or harass or stop promotions of people who report these occurrences. Brain Computer Interface Turns Mental Handwriting Into Text On Screen



Scientists are exploring a number of ways for people with disabilities to communicate their thoughts. The newest and fastest turns back to a vintage means for expressing oneself: handwriting.

For the first time, researchers have deciphered the brain activity associated with trying to write letters by hand. Working with a participant with paralysis who has sensors implanted in his brain, the team used an algorithm to identify letters as he attempted to write them. Then, the system displayed the text on a screen—in real time.

The innovation could, with further development, let people with paralysis rapidly type without using their hands, says study coauthor Krishna Shenoy, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator at Stanford University ...

First-of-Its-Kind Video Shows Giant Squid Hunting Their Prey Deep in The Ocean

Although the crushing pressures and darkness of the oceanic depths are hostile to us air-breathing humans, we've slowly but surely been learning more about them, thanks to the wonders of robotic technology.

The enigmatic giant squid is rarely observed in its natural habitat. In the first videos of their kind, marine scientists have caught its hunting behavior in the wild - revealing how these monsters of the deep stalk and attack their prey.

For giant squid, the bright lights mounted on underwater vehicles can be uncomfortable for their sensitive, low-light eyes, which can grow to the size of dinner plates; the sound and vibration can also scare off more mobile animals. And, of course, bringing giant squid to the surface won't record their behavior in their natural environment. That's why a team of researchers led by Nathan Robinson of the Oceanographic Foundation in Spain devised a different solution: a passive deep-sea platform, equipped with a camera. Because giant squid eyes are optimized to see shorter-wavelength blue light, they used longer-wavelength red lighting that won't annoy them, in order to see the animals on video ...

Tonight's Sky: Meet Corvus the Crow in May

A favorite constellation for many, little squarish Corvus the Crow can be found after sunset this time of year. It’s not far from Spica, the only bright star in the constellation Virgo. Once you find Spica, you’ll recognize Corvus easily. It’s always near the star Spica on the sky’s dome and recognizable for its compact, boxy shape. Spica is supposed to represent an Ear of Wheat, held by Virgo the Maiden. The four brightest stars are Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, and Beta Corvi.



Use the handle of the Big Dipper to locate the star Arcturus, follow the arc in the Dipper’s handle, and "Spy to Spica.”



After you find Spica, Corvus is easy. It’s right next to the bright star, a small boxy pattern that’s noticeable to the eye. Because Corvus is such an easy and fun constellation to pick out in the sky, there are many legends in skylore about it. A lovely one comes from China, where this grouping of stars was seen as an imperial chariot, riding on the wind. In ancient Israel and Greek mythology, Corvus was said to be a raven, not a crow.
