Sun Activity: Busy Sun Today

Today’s top news: Sun activity has decreased to low with only C flares. But it’s busy on our star nonetheless! We currently have six numbered sunspot regions on the sun’s Earth-facing side that have produced 10 C flares. And there are at least three solar filaments that, if they erupt, would possibly produce Earth-directed CMEs. Finally, we have a transequatorial (equator-crossing) coronal hole near the central solar disk, whose location will soon be geoeffective, that is, positioned such that its high-speed solar wind will reach Earth in a few days.

I had just gottten off from work about an hour before this happened I was changing out of my work clothes when I heard an odd noise and my cell phone beeped because it detected “movement” in the cameras view when I reached for my phone I saw the bright light and it was coming between my neighbors houses across the street from me- by the time I realized I wasn’t looking at any kind of “airplane” we have in the World - I raced outside to get a look at it with my own eyes but unfortunately by then it was gone. But in the video it appeared to move slowish blink a few times then stop blinking and then it kept its flight path and it was gone. Aside from the odd noise I heard - like a higher pitched blowing sound. I lived in this neighborhood for many years and I have NEVER seen any kind of airplane or helicopters go as low as this thing did.

In this case it began with a simple suggestion during a Skype session between a group of friends that was at the same time goofy, bold, hilarious, visionary, iconoclastic, radical, overwhelming in scope, and (in more ways than one) deeply esoteric all wrapped into one: what if we used famous figures in the history of UFOlogy as reimagined archetypes in a Tarot deck?

Several years and one unexpectedly successful Kickstarter campaign later, we are proud to announce that the idea has finally materialized into our world, and that the 22 cards in the Major Arcana of the UFOlogy Tarot project have been completed.

CHINESE ROCKET - Shenzhou-15

On Nov. 29th, China launched one of the most important missions of its young space program: Shenzhou-15. The spacecraft carried three astronauts to China's new Tiangong space station, where they would begin its permanent occupation. Amateur astronomer Zheng Zhi was in Beijing when the ascending spacecraft flew overhead, and he captured some spectacular video.





“This shows Shenzhou-15 passing below Jupiter and a couple of Jovian Moons just before the second stage's Main Engine Cut Off," said Zhi. "This event was captured on video by many astrophotographers in northern China."

Less than 6.5 hours later, Shenzhou-15 reached Earth orbit and docked with Tiangong -- a remarkably fast automated rendevous and docking.

Physicists Create a Holographic Wormhole Using a Quantum Computer





Physicists have purportedly created the first-ever wormhole, a kind of tunnel theorized in 1935 by Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen that leads from one place to another by passing into an extra dimension of space.

The wormhole emerged like a hologram out of quantum bits of information, or “qubits,” stored in tiny superconducting circuits. By manipulating the qubits, the physicists then sent information through the wormhole, they reported in the journal Nature.

The team, led by Maria Spiropulu of the California Institute of Technology, implemented the novel “wormhole teleportation protocol” using Google’s quantum computer, a device called Sycamore housed at Google Quantum AI in Santa Barbara, California. With this first-of-its-kind “quantum gravity experiment on a chip,” as Spiropulu described it, she and her team beat a competing group of physicists who aim to do wormhole teleportation with IBM and Quantinuum’s quantum computers.

When Spiropulu saw the key signature indicating that qubits were passing through the wormhole, she said, “I was shaken.”
