I bought two pounds of the seeds - planning to use one pound and plant the other pound. It looks to me like a hot weather plant, so here in the Colorado Rockies, I'll probably need to plant them under plastic.

I bought three bottles of Black Seed Oil. The stuff tastes terrible, leaving an awful after-taste for some time. It had best work miracles in order for me to suffer that taste over and over.

Potential implications of black seed and its principal constituent Thymoquinone in the treatment of COVID-19 patients

    Abstract

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative agent of the current pandemic of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). The progression of COVID-19 is related to an excessive host inflammatory immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection, which is considered a major cause of disease severity and death. Dysregulated immune response produces huge amounts of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines called 'cytokine storm'. Moreover, the activation of microthrombi formation plays an important role in multiple organ failure.

Methods: Keeping into the consideration of the potent anti-inflammatory activity of black seed and its major constituent thymoquinone (TQ), we hypothesize their potential implication in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. A literature search was performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google scholar and Scopus electronic databases by using the terms, including black seed, N. sativa, thymoquinone, SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19 and inflammatory immune response. Results: Various studies confirmed that Black seed and TQ reduced the thrombus formation, the expression of tissue factor and the immune activation. Furthermore, TQ demonstrated the broad spectrum antimicrobial activity that may be effective in controlling the secondary infections in COVID-19 patients.

Conclusion: Keeping into consideration the multi-targeting nature of the black seed and TQ, they may be used as a potential therapeutic formulation or as an adjunct therapy in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

I made that connection in treatment using Black Seed Oil, back in March, '20, when responding to a film union request to it's members on the efficacy of masks, etc.. in relation to viral spread.

Knowing the high likelihood that proposing common sense responses to unhealthy mandates that the union would accept from the producer's guild, white papers from the dark side, acts commonly known as collusion, and that I would get blacklisted from work I had been offered earlier in the year, I went all out and included my studies on prevention and treatments, all referenced and cited from the experts in these health and safety fields.

Since I knew that whoever would read it would pass my strong objections along to producers and their fellow union officials, the high desert rats, I knew that at least the person reading my response would gain some knowledge and pass it on.

In response to viral outbreaks I saw the historical connection from the use of QUININE in treating malaria, the effectiveness of HydroxychloroQUINE in malarial treatments, lupus treatments, etc. and then the use of BlackSeedOil, which is Cumin, with it's .6% concentration of thymoQUINONE.

Black Seed Oil is also a vaso-dylator, a blood thinner and as such should be used in moderation, thus the seemingly low concentration, 0.6%, of it's most active constituent. Along with the use of zinc it offers promise when used as a prophylactic/preventative in strengthening the system's immune response mechanism.

    Added Comments...

I quickly responded to the report in Sue's post above, and then went to the first post, created on Jan.8th 2012 by our member "Childs Hood End", just to see, not at all surprisingly so, the wealth of info on the subject. Isn't this Forum Awesome!

Black Seed Oil is a reminder to me to be very perceptive and informative when I tell, not ever recommend, any of my friends about a natural herb or treatment, as well as being aware that I am not the average joe. The affect of one thing on me may not be the outcome for someone else. For some men BSOil may be their viagra. How was I to know that those who need it would react that way?

I have found that Black seed oil is also good for clearing radiation/EMFs out of the body. I feel almost instantly better on one teaspoon. The taste is interesting though.

    Greetings All,

I searched for a thread on this but didn’t find one so I thought I’d post this information, new to me after all my years of interest in alternative medicine, I’m surprised I was unaware of one of the oldest therapeutics, known as ‘the blessed seed’ and apparently referred to by the Prophet Mohammed as the ‘cure for everything but death’.

Just started using it myself, for blood pressure, so I’ll monitor and report back any improvement. Determined not to take beta blockers! It has many apparent benefits, immune support among them. I’d be interested if anyone else uses it. Here’s a link to the article that piqued my interest.

Well I did not realise it had so many health benefits but bought it recently to use in cooking- called Nigella seed on the shelf here. You can grind it onto food like you would use pepper, or sprinkle on bread/ pies etc like you would use sesame seeds, or throw in a curry.... It has a mild flavour like a cross between black pepper and cumin.

It seems a good time to bump this thread as we’re all going to need the immune support with the vaxxed very likely delivering the endless variants big pharma is rubbing their palms about. I’m surrounded by the vaxxed now, who, of course think I’m very selfish not to take it because the Queen said so. Ho hum.

Doug, you got interested in this seed way back, did you grow it, did you use it? Not much feedback on results on the thread so far. I’m getting a blood pressure monitor for my birthday, oh how gifts have changed in my old age! LOL so I’ll be able to monitor progress in that regard. Last time I saw a doctor several years ago I was told to take cholesterol and blood pressure drugs, I haven’t and I’m still here. Been trying to positively affect both with natural methods. I will report back.

    Wishing vibrant well-being to all.
