This series starts streaming on 07/27/22. It's about the people at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).
Quote Lucas wanted his 1977 film Star Wars to include visual effects that had never been seen on film before.[7] After discovering that the in-house effects department at 20th Century Fox was no longer operational, Lucas approached Douglas Trumbull, best known for the effects on 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Silent Running (1972). Trumbull declined as he was already committed to working on Steven Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), but suggested his assistant John Dykstra to Lucas. Dykstra brought together a small team of college students, artists, and engineers, and set them up in a warehouse in Van Nuys, California. After seeing the map for the location was zoned as light industrial, Lucas named the group Industrial Light and Magic,[8] which became the Special Visual Effects department on Star Wars. Alongside Dykstra, other leading members of the original ILM team were Ken Ralston, Richard Edlund, Dennis Muren, Robert Blalack, Joe Johnston, Phil Tippett, Steve Gawley, Lorne Peterson, and Paul Huston.

This is a teaser trailer for John Wick 4. Donnie Yen is in this installment along with Scott Adkins & Clancy Brown. Donnie was in Highlander: Endgame in 2000 and Clancy was in Highlander in 1986. He has an amazing 311 credits on imdb.

Pretty full of gratuitous violence, wouldn’t you say? Why would anyone want to watch that?

For me it's the operations of the hidden society that's of interest.

Quote Action movie fans have calculated the bodycount of John Wick 3: Parabellum and added it to the previous films for a staggering total.

John Wick has now killed a total of 299 people on-screen.

That's more than the combined total of Jason Voorhees in all the Friday the 13th movies and Michael Myers in all of the Halloween movies.

"Moment of Contact is about an exploration of extraterrestrial encounters, this one centered on a series of events in 1996 when citizens of Varginha, Brazil, reported seeing one or more strange creatures and a UFO crash.

A number of locals, including a group of girls ranging in age from 14-21, had a close encounter with a being described as about 4 feet tall, with brown oily skin, a large head and huge red eyes.

The town of Varginha was cordoned off by military and emergency response teams and two creatures were captured.

Local military policeman Marco Cherese died under mysterious circumstances after allegedly handling one of the creatures.

Fox’s documentary features interviews with key eyewitnesses, experts and officials including nuclear physicist and professional ufologist Stanton Friedman, Brazilian Air Force General Jose Carlos Pereira, Brazilian ufologist Ademar Jose Gevaerd. Peter Coyote."

    I haven't seen a sci-fi movie with a rating above 8 in a long time

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led..

Everything Everywhere All at Once Wins Two Big Golden Globes

Is every mind connected to form a peer to peer network that creates the illusion of a shared reality, making the appearance of material reality a simulation created through shared beliefs?

Now this looks good. Love big sweeping epics! Ridley Scott's Gladiator is one of my favourites, and here he is again, and with Joachim Phoenix again in the title role.

Let's hope for true historical accuracy, and no wokeness!

    Oppenheimer

Not much word on this one yet but it opens today. Cillian Murphy looks made for this role, and judging by Christopher Nolan's previous offerings this look very promising. In fact better than that. The word "masterpiece" has even been bandied around among those who have seen it (allegedly).

I just came across this and was left speechless. I am being absolutely sincere when I say this may be the single greatest film of all time, or trailer as the case may be.

The man who killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot.
Starring: Sam Elliott, Aidan Turner, Ron Livingston
