Last friday May 11 was the day Bob Marley died. He was born in 1945
and he died in 1981. He died at the young age of 36. In the Netherlands
they released a documentary about his life last friday:

He was a stong and brave guy. He was attacked by gunmen in 1976.
In December 1976, two days before "Smile Jamaica", a free concert
organized by Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley in an attempt to
ease tension between two warring political groups, Bob Marley, his wife
and manager were shot at by several unknown gunmen inside Marley's home.
Bob had minor injuries to his chest and arm and while the shooting was thought
to be politically motivated, he still performed the free concert as scheduled.
When they asked him why he still performed in spite of the shooting he said:

I had never heard of this before, but I can't say I'm surprised. If this is true, and I can easily imagine it is, even in this deathbed confession this murderer still served his masters, not "America" as in "I did it for America", but the cabal. This is purposely creating hatred against America.

Bob Marley was such a beautiful soul, so peaceful and so charismatic that he could turn political enemies into partners.

I loved that man and his beautiful music, especially "Redemption Song".

No.
His mother was a christian. He became interested in rastafarianism and is still seen as a representative of that religion today, even though 8 months before his death he was re-baptized into the the orthodox christian church of Ethiopia. That happened in Miami and apparently his mother had asked him to do that.

Some sources say his white British father's mother was Jewish, but his father was not in his life.
