Absolutely agree about District 9. Simply great!

Now, if you want a more gentle, cerebral, spiritual kind of movie try Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter....and Spring. The most gorgeous, sensual movie I've ever seen. Bewildering in it's elegance and simplicity. No discription can do service to this masterpiece.

    Iron Man 3

well hat can i say , i really like Robert Downey , he is totally cool and his dialogue is well done. Doney is alays Downey but it just works. Gwenneth Paltrow is annoying as usual and i missed Scarlett Johansson .. she still hasnt called me ... hmm , anyways It was your typical Iron Man classic , lots of explosions , nice cars and lavish parties.

and for those who missed Scarlett in iron man 3 .. here she is .. aaah

PS she totally did all those stunts in one take .. .ya..

    The Trip

what can i say , i simply adore steeve coogans sence of irony and his absolute dis regard for political corectness. i saw this movie twice at the cinema. English movies truly got it down. Simple and script driven without one explosion or gun in sight .. love it

    Highly recommended !

Its a western , its a good one , challenging to watch , graphic but not too much .. the dialogue was meticulously captured by tarantino , hats off

leonardo di caprio was awesome , jamie foxx and christoph waltz were splendid !

    id watch it again

PS , my apologies i was going to post a trailer but i had to endure a tv commercial and what seemed an eternity of a news anchor talking for about 4 seconds... i had to shut youtube down, sorry .. but advertising seems so stupid these days.

Dutchsinse just posted this on Facebook
Of interest is the movie's premise that HAARP is responsible for causing tornadoes. It came out in 2011, I think, and it's the first time I've seen anything about it, but it might have been a good way to bring HAARP to the public's attention.
    Has anyone seen it?

Michael (played by Lou Diamond Phillips), is a prominent electromagnetics expert. He is the lead scientist on a project to transmit / receive high frequency pulses of WIRELESS ELECTRICITY at a Rectenna Array in the United States (literally at what appears to be the HAARP IRI antenna array).

The plot of the movie revolves around Michael’s discovery of a problem within the system. His discovery, this process of wireless energy transfer is causing electromagnetically formed tornadoes at the base receiver stations.

No one believes Michael when he tries to warn them, he is laughed at and ridiculed, and also intimidated by “higher powers” who refuse to listen… even when damage from the tornado begins to actualize.

Michael, his Geologist friend, and a few concerned scientists, are the only thing standing in the way of the..

Nanoo, next time just buy Dark City, don't settle for less. You will understand why after you watch it.
Not only I have met the designer of the film (interesting person to know), but the concept and the story are in almost complete alignment with some of the themes in this forum. In my humble opinion.

    The Hobbit

Tolkeins prelude to the lord of the rings trilogy.. I must say the direction is different to the rest By Peter Jackson and i like it .. just a tiny difference to give it authenticity of an earlier time. It was enchanting but not too much and some good moments. I enjoyed watching it ! Kate Blanchetts role was minimal which was great ! and Hugo Weaving actually should consider being an elf full time , he makes an awesome elf !

excellent cinematogrophy and telecine grading was just right

costumes were fantastic and scenery .. well , i wanted to live there my self ... made me home sick ..

    Very nice

Ok , i dont know how i missed this one. The movie is a camel ride , you get on board and sail off for a loooong journey. Its suspenceful and very well acted ( for the 80's that is )

I did drift of at times and it took me two sittings to finish the movie but the twist at the end was well worth it ! in my opinion the most accurate picture of our true state of affairs with regard to our extra terrestrial involvement. Mary Elizabeth Mastroantonio was great in this movie ( even tho she took up 90 % of the script ) Ed Harris gets the prize. He was extrodinary in his role and the direction was , for an 80's movie , excellent. ( directors were still finding their footing in the 80's )

If you like suspence and have had a few coffees then this movie is for you.

    Alien Star Rating 9

( sorry about the trailor , it was the 80's where every trailor started with the words " In a World " with a deep creepy voice over .. ugh )
    Good Thread Nanoo

Hey Nanoo Nanoo, have you ever seen the original Dune movie by David Lynch ?

It is one of my all time favorites. It was way ahead of its time, filmed back in the 80s I think.

By the way, what is the max score on your rating scale?
I recently worked with David Lynch ; 0 ) Yes Dune is an awesome movie but i just cannot stand sting .. what a wanker. sorry i know he is a great guy but he comes across like his poop dosent smell ... and thats turns me off watching it ..

and i was wondering when someone might ask me the scale of the Alien Star Rating. It is out of 13 : 0 )

I thought id make up a segment called

Nanoo's favorite funny scenes section or " NFFSS " for short. Its got moments that made me laugh so god damn hard it hurt my entire little ant body ! Now i know these may not be funny to all but to me these moments truly mark brilliant and subliminal comedic architecture.

First ( not in any order of preference )

Yes Man , 4 min 30 where terrence rubs the microphone on jims nose ... that just absolutely made me spit chips !

Another movie i adore in every way possible , Throw Momma From the Train for Dan33 ( criss cross ) he'd love that , i know ...

When de vito hits crystal in the head with the frying pan i just lost it to the point of tears ! something about the romance of slap stick so bravely attempted and geniously pulled off gets to me .. love it

And i have to save the best till last .. i know i said i wouldnt put these in order but i think by devine design its hit me now .. two of my favorie writers on this planet Matt Stone and Trey Parker. When it comes to being wrong i dont think anybody could possibly do it better ... they hit paralells of nutty thinking that truly get me in a place that i still cannot define .. and i love being on that edge of nowhere..

Warning for the next one , it has graphic depictions of marionettes having sex .. but when they finish and he tells her how he feels , she asks him to be quiet and pokes him in the eye .. and they keep it in the movie on purpose ... that just kills me ! LMAO !

    The tuk ur jebs !

i have to go to the toilet ... ill be back with more ... maybe

    lol
