Yes Caren, aren't they beautiful...!, and I had a similar emotion seeing the ant with a microchip.

The wonderful, marvelous Micro-World, we stand to be impressed for a while...!

    - thanks.
    amazing, and intriguing.

Photo technique can get you a lot closer
or farther, or into something the everyday eye
would not normally be privy to see, because it
is not used to, and has limitations.

And give insight into very slow or
    very rapid developements in
the history, and factual, physical world.

In 1996 astronomers pointed the Hubble telescope to a seemingly
"empty" spot into space, and got some interesting results...

Is this relevant, or even true ?
I do not know, but find it both beautiful and
a stimulous for thought and imagination.

Goes well with this norwegian classical song:

    - here a treasure of an animation movie.
from the open archives of National Film Board of Canada.
Realy worth some time, at least for film-enthusiasts:
    http://www.nfb.ca/

    Cosmic Zoom, 8 min.
    - a 1968 short film drawn and directed by Eva Szasz :

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=VgfwCrKe_Fk
    http://www.nfb.ca/film/cosmic_zoom
Quote This short animation transports us from the farthest conceivable point of the universe to the tiniest particle of existence, an atom of a living human cell.
The art of animation and animation camera achieve this exhilarating journey with a freshness and clarity.
    Without words.

    Thanks Xbusymom,

Loved the video you suggested, from the furthest point of the Universe coming our way to a micro cell on Earth, wouha!, great!

What I had in mind was Biomimicry, I looked it up, it has become a commercial venture, using the micro-world to do business.

But I find another site, where micro-cellular have a say at http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com...pic-world/3275

    All my blessings.

Time-lapse is another interesting photo technique.

    -Here a funky eksample:
(spring just around the corner here)

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=Cz3ws...eature=related

-and , same, same, but different, (autumn), more slow:

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=UQ_QqtXoyQw

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=-bUDy...eature=related

    and snow-lapse:
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=EMhUZAq5IxQ

    - something spacerelated, using same technichue:

    ..
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=4zFRZ...layer_embedded
    ..

    More of the time-lapse :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-lapse

    - and some how-to: (easy on most computers, cameras)
    http://www.sciencephotography.com/how2do2.shtml

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/12323...pse_movie.html

    - an electromechanical model for singleframe photocameras:
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Time...mera-The-Easy/

    - more faq
    http://www.time-science.com/timescience/timelapse.asp

    and for inspiration:
    http://www.timelapse.com

    http://www.velocityreviews.com/forum...ime-lapse.html

Search for (free) software on the net, and ask a friend.
    Keywords are time-lapse (or stop-motion)

This you should try at home.

I absolutely love this - can't get over the peacock butterfly wing. Reminds me of a time years ago, we were having a picnic in Nuwara Eliya and my son became fascinated with something on the lawn of the tea house we had visited. He suddenly bent down and picked up the tiniest tube of grass, he said he had watched a tiny little bug saw off the tip of a blade of grass and then roll itself up in it Cleopatra-style. It used two front legs to propel itself along, in a perfectly disguised suit of armour. We put it on the table and watched it in complete amazement for a minute before he gently placed it back on the lawn. Tiny miracles, just as jaw dropping as huge ones.
