Jackie notices that everyone who goes into the town's lake come out different. As the movie progresses, Jackie first-handedly witnesses what is happening to everyone around her as .......

Quote An enigmatic cult classic mini-series that has left an indelible mark on everybody from J.J. Abrams to Matt Groening.

Video Description: After handing in his resignation, the Prisoner heads off to his London home to pack for a holiday. He begins to feel faint and ends up unconscious. He awakens not in his house but in a strange village.

    Series Description:
The Prisoner remains unique in the world of television: a taut psycho-thriller about a secret agent who retires and finds himself thrown into a Kafka-esque world of mindplay and enigma - a man known only as No. 6. A major cult following has built up around this extraordinary series one of the most inventive and ground-breaking ever produced. Multi-talented and twice winner of an Emmy, Patrick McGoohan who stars, also created and produced the series and wrote and directed many of the episodes.

Quote In 1974, cult film director Alejandro Jodorowsky attempted to create a big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's seminal science fiction novel "Dune." While the ambitious production collapsed after two years, Jodorowsky's team of then relatively unknown concept artists continued exploring the themes and styles started on the project and ended up changing modern science fiction forever.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1935156/

Yeaa! I found more new and old thoughtful Sci Fi....

    "COHERENCE (2013)"

Quote Deploys twisty sci-fi concepts to warp the almost-clichéd dinner-party soap opera into a horror story of the human condition in the face of quantum philosophy. Flick Philosopher
    Quote
On the night of an astronomical anomaly, eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of reality bending events. Part cerebral sci-fi and part relationship drama, COHERENCE is a tightly focused, intimately shot film whose tension intensely ratchets up as its numerous complex mysteries unfold. Here is one on you tube I had never seen before

    "Miracle Mile (1988)"

Quote “Miracle Mile” has the logic of one of those nightmares in which you’re sure something is terrible, hopeless and dangerous, but you can’t get anyone to listen to you. Besides, you have a sneaking suspicion that you might be mistaken. The film begins as a low-key, boy-meets-girl story, and then a telephone is answered by the wrong person and everything goes horribly wrong." Roger Ebert
Quote Originally intended as a segment in the Twilight Zone movie released in 1983, director Steve De Jarnatt battled for nearly a decade to get the film produced and released. Originally a flop at the box office, it has since gained some minor-popularity over the years. Coming in at just 87 minutes, it’s a very quick, but memorable suspense story. Miracle Mile also features a brilliant soundtrack by one of the greatest ambient music bands of the time – Tangerine Dream. http://most-underrated-movies.blogsp...natt-1988.html

    Ramone,
Thanks! I enjoyed the movie Electric Dreams. My favorite movie reviewer Roger Ebert (I miss him) gave it a 3.5/4.

"The guy in the movie is one of those cases of chronic disorganization: He's right on time but this is yesterday's training session. Somebody tells him he ought to get a computer to help him keep track of things. He buys a computer and, predictably, drops it while he is taking it out of the box. Apparently that was just what the computer needed to upgrade itself to a level of sophistication far above anything ever dreamed of by the folks at the computer store."

Here are short films I found...lots more on you tube...love it.

Happenstance (2000) .....original title: "Le Battement d'ailes du papillon"
Audrey Tautou of Amelie, and about chance effects of small actions that lead to larger consequences.
Quote "Sliding Doors" was a shaky but interesting romantic comedy, and "Run Lola Run" was frenetic and full of visual gimmicks. But the slower-paced, more forthright "Happenstance" may be the most interesting look at how little things can change our lives -- it's not just one person's life, with a few people affected around him or her. Instead, it's a dozen or so, whose lives change for better or worse because of little things.Happenstance (2007)"

    Undermind (2003)
Derrick, a corporate lawyer with a large trust fund, and Zane, a criminal never meet BUT their lives are entangled, more than either one of them could ever imagine.

Quote The show's basic premise is that in the near future – a fictional version of 1980 (a date indicated in the opening credits) – Earth is being visited and attacked by aliens from a dying planet and humans are being covertly harvested for their organs by the aliens. The show's main cast of characters are members of a secret, high-technology international agency called SHADO (an acronym for Supreme Headquarters, Alien Defence Organisation) established to defend Earth and humanity against the mysterious aliens and learn more about them, while at the same time keeping the threat of an alien invasion hidden from the public.UFO (TV series)
Quote In 1970, the US Air Force gets documented proof of alien UFO attacks. These aliens wear red space suits and breath a green liquid, which makes their faces green. They mutilate their victims - harvest organs. Several recovered alien bodies have been found to have Human organs implanted, but we have no idea why.http://www.yuchtar.com/FanFic/fansum.html
Quote Many of the storylines and ideas are still doing the rounds today on TV shows (key personnel replaced with clones/impostors, your job wrecking your personal life, people who can see into the future, government cover-ups). Anyone thinking of The X-Files here? Review of UFO
I love the staging and love purple hair...very fab.

    "House of Flying Daggers (2004)"

Quote Forget about the plot, the characters, the intrigue, which are all splendid in "House of Flying Daggers," and focus just on the visuals. There are interiors of ornate elaborate richness, costumes of bizarre beauty, landscapes of mountain ranges and meadows, fields of snow, banks of autumn leaves and a bamboo grove that functions like a kinetic art installation.........The plot is almost secondary to the glorious action, until the last act, which reminded me a little of the love triangle in Hitchcock's "Notorious" (1946).Roger Ebert
Quote Dance scene from House Of Flying Daggers. A romantic police captain breaks a beautiful member of a rebel group out of prison to help her rejoin her fellows, but things are not what they seem.

    "Ladyhawke (1985)"

Quote IN the 13th century, somewhere between Navarre and Anjou, there was the walled city of Aquila, ruled by a wicked bishop who lusted after a great beauty named Isabeau.

However, Isabeau loved - and was loved by - Etienne, the handsome captain of the bishop's guards. When the jealous bishop cottoned onto the truth, he struck a bargain with the devil, who obliged his latest convert by putting a terrible curse on the lovers. Ladyhawke NYT review
