For anyone who prefers NOT to sit through a 3 hour interview (or several of them!), here's a respectful and interesting 12 minute summary by Dom Burgess, an experienced motion graphics designer, of the issues (or otherwise) with the purported videos. It was published just a few hours ago.

In brief: Burgess recreates one of the videos in an hour and a half (the plane flying above clouds), and becomes certain that the much debated 'implosion' frame from the 'thermal image' video did come from existing stock footage of an explosion. But he also states that there's much about the entire affair that's more than highly weird... which is true.

Bob Greenyer explains in his video (posted several times in this thread) that he could have faked the actual videos about 20 years ago (him having had a graphic-design company), but for someone to fake them exactly that way they'd still need to have an understanding of the underlying physics (which he says exist, no matter if the videos themselves are faked or not).

Then Forbes was a very odd choice for spokesperson.
One would think, if that is the case, "they" would have found someone with more credentials at the very least...in order to be more convincing and less controversial.
Although in this case, imho, it kind of serves to make him more convincing since he doesn't appear to have any professional credibility to protect.

I think Forbes is just the latest front man for an operation that's been underway for a considerable time. The patents filed by the US Navy under the name of the possibly fictional Salvator Pais laid the theoretical groundwork.

I don't think the intention is to be more convincing and certainly not less controversial. I think this sort of stuff is what you get when a fourth generation world war is underway and one f the aims is to sow as much confusion as possible and poison the information well in the process. Smoke and mirrors.

Has there been any logical explanation about where the crashed plane might have ended up?
It seems unlikely that even a psyop retrieval would have gone unnoticed.

Another interesting update. It seems we have a slam-dunk here. This short (18-minute) video below, posted yesterday, is from the guy who took the photo of the clouds, for a professional stock photo website, that were used as the non-moving background of the first faked video. (And I do think we now have to agree that it was faked. )

I have to say, it was an impressive piece of dedicated research that led to this. Someone spent hours (or days!) searching through thousands of cloud photos on the internet until they found the one that matched, then did more research to find the original 2012 photographer.

Then this poor guy (who posted the video below) suddenly found himself with an avalanche of messages asking him to comment. He'd not heard a thing about all this, and so had to familiarize himself with it quite quickly. In the video he shows exactly how his own cloud photo was used.
