Default One-way Ticket to Mars 4 men & woman scheduled for 2023....... (RT Documentary)

This is a interesting look at one of the potential candidates for the mission to mars,
she gives her insights why she would like to go, her families reaction and some
info about the project. There was a lot of talk about this earlier in the year and
I put up threads about it , but was not sure how serious they were ? It seems very.

One-way Ticket to Mars 4 men & woman scheduled for 2023....... (RT Documentary)

    Published on 29 Nov 2014

The Mars One mission is a one-way ticket to the Red Planet. It’s scheduled for 2023,
when the first group of 4 men and women will land on Mars. There, they’re expected to
collect data, plant oxygen-producing vegetation and prepare the planet for human
colonization. Despite the obvious dangers of this enterprise, over 200,000 people from
around the world have applied. Anastasia, from Moscow, has made it to this daring
project’s short-list. What draws her towards the fourth planet from the Sun and away
from Earth? She’s always felt she’s lacked a purpose in life, as she’s whiled away her
years waiting for ‘real life’ to begin. When she heard of the mission, she knew it was
what she’d been waiting for. Even though most of her friends and acquantances don’t
support her decision to take the one-way trip to Mars, she’s determined to make her dream come true.

Haha, we've had bases on the Moon and Mars, Adama and Eve, since the 1960's. There's already quite a few folkes on Mars already

yeah we suspect that on here and I have done several threads on that. I wonder the motive for this ?
Its a massive leap for a private company to go to Mars. Virgin is having problems getting a craft in
Earths orbit. So who is really backing this project ? The Indians have just sent a budget probe
to the red planet, and the survival rate of probes seem to have improved. But to send humans
on a spacecraft that does not seem to have been designed let a lone built seems a bit optimistic.

Obviously they could have a tow by a cloaked TR 3B ...LOL. The search for volunteers could be
for other reasons, sifting them out for possible use on other existing black space programmes.
This would be cover for eventual disclosure of Mars bases later this century. It could be genuine
but seems a odd way to do it with all the potential risks of flying conventional tin can space
craft to Mars. Not sure what to think about it yet , but will see how it goes. The reality show
part of it seems a bit vulgar and this does not feel right to me ...LOL

Ok so what happens if the aliens or human colonies there don't like them and they

get an eviction notice lol. Where will they go? Hmm maybe this will help expose

alien life. They will technically be there own little civilization. Our leaders here

made contact and sold us out maybe they'll have better luck.

One Giant Leap: The One-Way Journey to Mars

    Published on 30 May 2014

One Giant Leap documents the ambitions of the Mars One programme, a unique private
enterprise that aims to put the first four humans on Mars within the next ten years. What
is particularly unique about the programme is that they do not plan to bring anyone back
home to earth. Instead, the astronauts, volunteers from the public, will live and function
    on Mars.

Through interviews with mission applicants, experts and a look at space missions of the
past, this documentary explore the reasons behind this ultimate sacrifice.

This is a recent interview with the project leader doing a Q & A and certainly upbeat
and answers some questions , but still a bit vague and confirms they have not
got a launcher or craft designed yet. The reality TV bit of this is a major part
of the fund raising it seems , so if it flops he did not say how that would effect
the project , some other interesting questions also.......

200,000 candidates applied for the silly Mars project in world wide. I think all of them genuinely believe in space technologies that released by proxy scientific instituteds over decades, i.e. NASA.

That's the last attempt of TPTB to distract, dumb down entire human race for another decade.

I had donated hundreds hours of my spare time for SETI project. And I realized that speed of electromagnetic wave as communication in vast space is too slow. Interstellar civilizations must have alternative means of communication. That was one of my small awakenings.
    For free society!

I remember some time ago coming across some of their promotions, and they were describing the show as the main means of funding the project. I recall them saying they were going to be heavily relying on merchandise and crowd funding (and the show for awareness), and there would not be an expedition if the necessary funds werent raised.

I am trying to find where I read that, but I am not having much luck. So I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure of this.

Mars is an alien settlement. One way is for a reason. You don't want to go there. It won't be nice. Take it to the bank.!!! There is supposedly a human settlement/refuge on the Moon. Mars is for the aliens.

Nasa's Orion 'Mars ship' set for test flightComments (253) By Jonathan Amos

Science correspondent, BBC News, Cape Canaveral

    short vid on link...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-30234625.
    LIVE: Orion 'Mars ship' launch

A US space capsule that could help get humans to Mars is about to make its maiden flight.

Orion will be launched on a Delta rocket out of Cape Canaveral in Florida on a short journey
above the Earth to test key technologies.

The conical vessel is reminiscent of the Apollo command ships that took men to the Moon in
the 1960s and 1970s, but bigger and with cutting-edge systems.

Given that this is a first outing, there will be no people aboard.

Nonetheless, the US space agency describes the demonstration as a major event.

Nasa has a window in which to launch Orion of about two-and-a-half hours, which began
at 07:05 local time (12:05 GMT).

The launch preparations had to be stopped shortly before the opening of the window because
a boat strayed into the eastern part of the launch range. The countdown was held again
    because of strong winds.

But Nasa says that there are no technical issues with the rocket.

"This is huge; Thursday is a giant day for us," said Nasa administrator Charlie Bolden.

Orion is being developed alongside a powerful new rocket that will have its own debut in 2017 or 2018.

Together, they will form the core capabilities needed to send humans beyond the International
Space Station to destinations such as the Red Planet.

Jump media playerMedia player helpOut of media player. Press enter to return or tab to continue.
Lockheed Martin's Orion programme chief Mike Hawes describes the flight profile

For Thursday's flight, the Delta IV-Heavy rocket - currently the beefiest launcher in the world
    - is being used as a stand-in.

It will send Orion twice around the globe, throwing the ship up to an altitude of almost 6,000km (3,600 miles).

This will set up a fast fall back to Earth, with a re-entry speed into the atmosphere close to
30,000km/h (20,000mph) - near what would be expected of a capsule coming back from the Moon.

It should give engineers the opportunity to check the performance of Orion's critical heat shield,
which is likely to experience temperatures in excess of 2,000C (4,000F).

They will also watch how the parachutes deploy as they gently lower the capsule into Pacific
waters off Mexico's Baja California Peninsula.
