Just a foot note .....After this thread had started there was an article about
human head transplants from the patient , victim or meglamaniac. To
a willing or unwilling 'donors' body , and I put up a thread about it.

Then another article below.....First full body transplant is two years away, surgeon claims

    THE GUARDIAN......

First full body transplant is two years away, surgeon claims

‘A surgeon says full-body transplants could become a reality in just two years.

Sergio Canavero, a doctor in Turin, Italy, has drawn up plans to graft a living person’s
head on to a donor body and claims the procedures needed to carry out the operation are not far off.

Canavero hopes to assemble a team to explore the radical surgery in a project he is due
to launch at a meeting for neurological surgeons in Maryland this June.

He has claimed for years that medical science has advanced to the point that a full body
transplant is plausible, but the proposal has caused raised eyebrows, horror and
    profound disbelief in other surgeons.’

Bionic eye to 'restore sight', Newcastle scientists say

26 February 2015 Last updated at 10:35 GMT

Scientists at a North East university are working to help "restore sight" to people who have lost their eyes.

Experts at Newcastle University are developing a microchip implant for the brain which receives signals
from a camera in a bionic eye.

The technology is currently being tested and the team behind the project estimate human trials could
get under way in the next 10 years, as Look North's Sharon Barbour reports.

Those robots give me the creeps, even before they mount weapons onto/into them. In a sane world, they would be some sort of rescue robots - but in our real world, those will be weaponized, and used against whomever has been determined to be the enemies of Elite Empire. Those quasi-dog-shaped robots are not "man's best friend."

What is basically happening our true human being , the non - physical eternal gods
we all are, have created in this physical reality where we all are the 'GOD'
contributor thru the frequencies of our thoughts and ideas and manifested from the
frequency of the mouth/spokenword, that is the trigger for maitrix of the universe
to allow it to be created from the atoms of other materials previously generated
into existence. What we cannot recreate is what we truly are our eternal
essence. Some call it the Soul . Although that is something else accordingto
ION .Which you could call a sort of AI though they describe themselves as being
    an 'Enviroment'.

This proccess has happened many times before and is happening now and in the
future because as there is no such thing as time just one gigantic now . Everything
that has ever or will ever happed has already happened. You may think this is
all 'hokum' but this and much more other bits of info is making more sense
of the 'Meaning of Life ' question as we go along on this journey.

Basically its all here or on the blue print , how the God/creation manifestation into
this reality works is one or more of us 'Gods' has an idea it may be practical and
patented or used generationally or put into fiction or wherever. That is the firt
phase of the process of creation then sooner or later it is destined to come into
reality if picked up on in one of billions of different versions of multi earths. Then it
gets more weirder and simpler at the same time depending on your mindset and
how it resonates with you. Remember you are a 'god' so this does not have to be
    your reality.....LOL

Events have certainly speeded up over the last century and thelast 20 years or so
since the wide spread use of the web is dramatically bringing all these concepts and
Ideas to life.As David Icke said connect the dots and I find like most of you
probably more and more things are connected.....

Some of this is scary and creepy , but its here now in various forms It has been put
out in many movies from 'Robbie ' from lost in space to Data , Kryton , 7 of 9 and
others and the issues of 'Robot/Android'and other basic issues have been brought
up. To the sinister Hal in 2001 The Borg , Terminators and many other evil
robotoids. That want to kill off or assimilate all carbon based life forms...

Another Boston Dynamics video, showing the two-legged humanoid robot... now in the woods, albeit connected with an umbilical.

“We're interested in getting this robot out into the world. Out in the world is just a completely different challenge than in the lab. You can’t predict what it is going to be like,” said Marc Raibert, the founder of Boston Dynamics.

That one-minute video is an extract from this hour-long presentation:

This isn't too unexpected, that robot was too clunky; I'm sure the one that is eventually adopted will be terrifying.

Quote US Marines drop Google's robo-dogs for a simple reason
Technically Incorrect: In the end, it came down to sound logic for the warfighters. These were not the dogs of war you're looking for.

Some ideas are so enchanting that it's easy to overlook small but frightfully important details.

When first seen in the wild, the LS3 robot dogs created by Google-owned Boston Dynamics seemed like they could be very useful dogs of war.

The mere sight of them on the battlefield ought to be enough to scare the enemy. Beyond that, the techno-canines could carry equipment and perform other onerous tasks.

It seems, though, that these robo-dogs have one small problem: Like quite a few real dogs, they make too much noise.

As Kyle Olson, a spokesman for the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab, told Military.com, the Marines drew the line at "the limitations of the robot itself. They took it as it was: A loud robot that's going to give away their position."
he whole project cost around $42 million and was a collaboration between Boston Dynamics and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon initiative dedicated to stretch-the-imagination ideas ranging from laser weapons to synthetic bacteria. The Marines last tested the four-legged devices, also known as robotic mules, in 2014.

A US Marines spokesman confirmed that the noise levels suggested the robot dogs couldn't be used in real-world operations, but contended that was never the goal. More important, he said, was to learn about autonomous navigation and the challenges for an "operationally suitable quadruped robot" in terms of foot placement and dynamic control.

Boston Dynamics founder Marc Raibert told me: "LS3 is a research program to show the feasibility of legged robots, not a candidate system to be deployed. So framing the program as 'shelved' is not how we think about it."Let's hope this lesson sinks in: Technology sometimes achieves so much, yet still fails at things that appear quite basic.

In warfare, stealth is a virtue. Clunking your way through a patrol isn't going to be productive. Indeed, listening to the noise emitted by these dogs (video above), you really think that your most annoying neighbor is mowing his lawn at the crack of dawn. Raibert characterized LS3 as "about as quiet as a typical motor vehicle, such as a car or Humvee."

Boston Dynamics did make a smaller, quieter robo-animal, nicknamed Spot. The problem, however, is that Spot couldn't carry much -- around 40 lbs, or one-tenth of what the bigger versions could tote.Spot might have been useful in reconnaissance, except that it lacked the autonomous capabilities of the larger robo-animals, relying entirely on a human controller.

About the noise, Raibert described improvement: "LS3 is about 50 times quieter than BigDog, its predecessor, and Spot is 10-20 times quieter than LS3, depending on the mode of operation. They are not as quiet as people and animals, but we are making good progress."

A large, quiet engine seems as hard to create as a phone battery that lasts for more than a few hours.
This has caused them to be retired before they had a chance to become regular members of battle squads.

    Quite amazing and very creepy.
That device is very advanced in it's dexterity.

At vid point 3:34 seeing the biped and four legged robots having a nice trek in the woods, creepy.

Wonder what they look like with skin-bodies.

Wonder what the top line military versions might be right now?

It could be a very effective weapons system, it could run along over rough uneven ground and keep a weapon aimed.

This may be stating the obvious, but you know, if you equip these gadgets with decent armour, load it with AI and give it weapons, you've got a pretty lethal super soldier. I read somewhere that the blackops stopped the supersoldier (human) programs because they developed superior AI soldier robots. Notice that the flow of super soldier whistleblowers has dried up?

Boston Dynamics - the name has that ring to it that many sci if movie fans could identify as "the company where the problem started".

    The connections that come to my mind when I see this;
    >owned by Google
    >google also big into Dwave sentient computers
    >"hey! Let's get Dwave to make the robot better!"

The work that is being done is obviously "incredilbly inspiring" to the people who are working on the projects themselves. The work will advance so fast that things will be done before thinking if you really should do "this" or "that". I have worked many years in the tech industry and things move so quickly that a large portion of your time is trying to keep up with the pace of advancement. Projects are re-designed on the go constantly due to these advancements. When it is departmentalized, your input gets tweaked and tuned into something you didn't even imagine just a few weeks earlier.

I remember seeing this dog robot a while back and it would just fall over - look at it now - and what will it look like next month? Oh yes, there are so many great things that this type of technology could do for us. Truely inspiring!

I have seen computer code do things that the programmer had no intention of it doing - and that was quite a few years ago. I hope the programmers of the new sentient artificial intelligent d-wave really have the perfect fale safe lines of code to keep the program under their control - - but wouldn't the A.i. be aware of it's own code? Yeah, it would. Freaky times times ahead my friends!

    Loosely releated:
U.S. Army Report: Terrorist and Insurgent Teleoperated Sniper Rifles and Machine Guns:
    https://info.publicintelligence.net/...iperRifles.pdf

This data set consists of twenty-one teleoperated weapons systems used by terrorist and insurgent groups. It is worth noting that there are many more systems’ images available, but no group affiliation could be associated with them, which is why they were not included in this research project. The plethora of videos and photos on social media indicates that terror and insurgent groups are increasingly turning to improvised weaponry use on the battlefield. One class of improvised weapon that is emerging is remote controlled sniper rifles and machine guns. They are being used across Syria, Iraq, and a lone case in Libya as early as 2011. Typically, rifles or machine guns are improvised to be secured on a base—either mobile or stationary—and linked to cables, which are connected to a remote and screen. Some systems are more refined than others, such as with cameras, but all have at least proven to be somewhat effective. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) was at the forefront of using improvised weaponry for the better part of 2013, based on what is still available on social media. But other rebel groups as well as Islamic State and Al Qaeda affiliates caught on to the trend quickly. In early 2016, videos and Twitter images even surfaced of improvised weaponry developed by Iraqi military forces. There is a level of sophistication and practicality of these groups to use what is available and create a weapon that can cause a great deal of damage. Social media outlets like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube take down undesirable content periodically, but the majority of these system videos have remained online.
While there is an abundance of teleoperated weapons in the hands of Islamic militants, they are certainly not of the quality one would see fielded by developed nations with sophisticated research and development teams. In Daejeon, South Korea, engineers developed a belt-fed .50 caliber machine gun turret known as the Super aEgis II, which was unveiled in 2010 and has since been improved as of 2016. An Ethernet cable runs from the turret’s base to the back of a computer with the rifle controlled by a joystick. With a four-kilometer engagement range, the joystick gives the operator the ability to maneuver the weapon and aim, while adjacent buttons control distance, chamber loading, and firing. The system will not fire without the command from a human operator. The Super aEgis II costs $40 million and has had a number of buyers, mostly in the Middle East: airbases across the United Arab Emirates, the Royal Palace in Abu Dhabi, and an armory in Qatar. Others have purchased the system for use at airports and military bases. This is the most recent debut by South Korea who have also created more improvised—and less costly—weaponry to protect their border with North Korea.
Similarly, Israel has developed a slew of improvised weaponry, given its unfriendly neighbors. Israel is under constant threat of Hezbollah and Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip. In 2010, Israel made headlines with its female-only operated “spot and shoot” technology. Officially known as “SentryTech,” the system resembles a video game. A mounted weapon can be operated by a remote control and targets are spotted on a computer screen. Additionally, as early as June 2016, Israel debuted small “combat robots,” which can climb stairs and maneuver through almost any terrain. The mini-robot is also capable of carrying a fully loaded Glock with 14 rounds. Called Dogo, it weighs a little over 25 pounds, has eight cameras to provide a 360-degree view, and possesses enough battery life for up to five hours of operation.
Russia is also building up its teleoperated technological arsenal. At the beginning of 2016, the Russian military developed a remote controlled 30-mm auto cannon turret. The system is called ABM M30-M3, developed by Impuls-2, a Crimea based firm. It can be linked with Strazh-m, which is a computer system to remotely control the turret as well as assist with tracking and targeting. The system can be as far as 50 kilometers away from the turret for it to be remotely controlled by an operator. The turret can be installed on warships, military boats, and armored vehicles. Additionally, the Russians have built Uran-9, which is used mainly for reconnaissance. It is not necessarily an improvised rifle like the previous example, but it is an improvised tank that is unmanned and can be remotely controlled. Uran-9 was developed by Rosoboronexport, a Russian defense contracting firm. The turret attached to this armored vehicle is a 30-mm cannon that has a rate of fire of up to 400 rounds per minute. A 7.62mm machine gun is also mounted adjacent to the cannon. Interestingly, the tank consists of four 9M120 Ataka anti-tank missiles and four Igla-S surface to air missiles. Russia has reported that they intend on exporting this mini-robot tank for missions abroad.
With the context provided, the accompanying teleoperated weapons data set serves as a baseline resource concerning emerging terrorist and insurgent capabilities in this area. It has been pieced together drawing upon open source social media and news reports to provide insights into an understudied operational environment threat that has been gradually developing in the Middle East.

Well I'm certainly not a professional robot killer (yet...)

    But,

Were one to damage/destroy the LIDAR sensor package where the "head" should be would make it pretty functionally uselss; but this isn't built with any defense in mind... the robot ninjas will have that I'm sure.......

Scientists build army of 1 million microrobots that can fit inside a hypodermic needle
First published on Aug. 26, 2020
A four-inch wafer of silicon has been turned into an army of one million microscopic, walking robots, thanks to some clever engineering employed by researchers at Cornell University in New York.

In a paper, published Wednesday in the journal Nature, a team of roboticists detail the creation of their invisible army of robots, which are less than 0.1mm in size (about the width of a human hair) and cannot be seen with the naked eye. The robots are rudimentary and are reminiscent of Frogger, the famous 1980s arcade game. But they take advantage of an innovative, new class of actuators, which are the legs of the microrobots, designed by the team.

Controlling movement in these tiny machines requires the researchers to shine a laser on minuscule light-sensitive circuits on their backs, which propels their four legs forward. They've been designed to operate in all manner of environments such as extreme acidity and temperatures. One of their chief purposes, the researchers say, could be to investigate the human body from the inside.

"Controlling a tiny robot is maybe as close as you can come to shrinking yourself down," Marc Miskin, now an engineer at the University of Pennsylvania and the study's lead author, said in a statement.

"I think machines like these are going to take us into all kinds of amazing worlds that are too small to see."

But shrinking down robots to this size and enabling them to move through the microscale world is a challenging technical task. It's much more difficult to move through the world when you're about the size of a Paramecium.

The team was able to build incredibly small legs, which are connected to two different patches on the back of the robot -- one for the front pair of legs, one for the back. Alternating light between the patches propels the microrobot forward.

As you can see in the GIF to the right, it's not graceful, but it does the trick.

These types of devices are known as "marionettes" because their power source is not on board the device and their functions are controlled remotely, note MIT researchers Allan Brooks and Michael Strano in a related article published in Nature.

Without the external input from researchers, the devices don't have the capability to move around. But Brooks and Strano said the marionettes are important because they provide a stepping stone for future devices that can work autonomously. The microrobots are more tech demo than functional product for now, but they show what is capable in the microscopic world.

The research team were able to show the microrobots devices could fit within the narrowest hypodermic needle and thus, could be "injected" into the body. That kind of capability isn't worthwhile right now and not possible. The machines aren't intelligent enough to target a diseased cell or respond to stimuli, so there's no application for this invisible army. However, the researchers said that "their capabilities can rapidly evolve" and suggest that future production costs could be "less than a penny per robot," making them a valuable ally in the battle against disease.

The researchers are now trying to program the robots to perform certain tasks, using more complex computation and autonomy. Improvements could pave the way for swarms of robots to head inside the body and repair wounds or go on the attack against diseases like cancer, but that future is years -- or potentially decades -- away.

Even with the future years away, it should be noted that any potential treatment options using such devices would require stringent safety checks, have to overcome significant regulatory hurdles and would need to be trialled extensively before they were ever used inside human beings.
