To address the other point that former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard raises--about the need to break up the power that big tech companies have amassed by executing legislative changes and reforms, this, IMO, is a passive and high risk solution at this point due to the weakened power that the US representatives who see this as a solution actually have.

The American people have, right now, a small window of opportunity to execute reforms themselves--by electing to not support big tech companies that amass power that takes away basic rights. This means moving to alternative, truly free-speech platforms, and doing so as often as needed.

It also means putting his/her money into other tech companies. As Katherine Austin Fitts says, a new monetary (transactional) system may soon be put in place whereby the people's individual decisions about where their money goes, or whether it's even accessible, can be controlled on the turn of a dime if he or she doesn't behave in the "right way".

And then, yes, the shell of the federal government that still stands on the constitution MAY continue to exist if Americans choose to vote in the right people. And about that, Tulsi makes an important point (if I understand her correctly)--that it's not about supporting the voices of candidates who we agree with, but rather voting for those that recognize the country that the founders envisioned.

Granted, well-talked about solutions, and only partial solutions at that, but they should be kept in the foreground.

Facebook and Twitter are de facto examples of how socialism works.
If promoted, praised, advertised, applauded, critically acclaimed and especially "free", be wary.
Seldom is anything worthwhile "free" - with the notable exception of Project Avalon of course - and even that's far from "free" in the sense it needs conscientious contributors, moderators, administrators, documentarians etc.
If you want something for free, then that is what it is worth.
You will have no say in how it works.
The guy who runs it will control how you use it.
You will have no privacy, and if you say anything they don't like, they will close you down.

Anybody using GAB? I signed up last night and it seems to be pretty good - kinda slow, but the interface is nice and there are lots of groups to join to connect with likeminded people.
I'm impressed thus far, however, will not be shocked when the site gets targeted for destruction like Parler.

YouTube suspends Trump channel over concerns about ‘potential for violence’
 
YouTube announced late Tuesday night that it was suspending Trump’s channel for at least seven days.
 
“After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies. It now has its 1st strike & is temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a minimum of 7 days,” YouTube said in a statement.
 
“Given the ongoing concerns about violence, we will also be indefinitely disabling comments on President Trump’s channel, as we’ve done to other channels where there are safety concerns found in the comments section.”

Conservative Commentator Says AIG Canceled His Insurance Over His Social Media Posts

Deplatforming reaches new heights of absurdity.

Conservative commentator and former baseball star Curt Schilling says that AIG canceled his insurance policy over his “social media profile,” a new level of deplatforming not yet seen.

“We will be just fine, but wanted to let Americans know that @AIGinsurance canceled our insurance due to my “Social Media profile,” tweeted Schilling.

“The agent told us it was a decision made by and with their PR department in conjunction with management,” he added.

While innumerable Trump supporters have lost their Twitter and Facebook accounts due to social media censorship and cancel culture, cases of individuals being cut off by banks and other financial services are now growing too.

The purge has gone beyond the realm of simply silencing people on major platforms for their opinions, but punishing them for expressing them by trying to make their lives unlivable.

Numerous respondents pointed out the obvious – that without insurance it’s impossible to mortgage a home or register a vehicle.

However, other leftists applauded the move and said that Schilling deserved it for his support of Trump.

“You’ve definitely earned it,” remarked one.

“I mean…. capitalism right? They calculated the risk and decided your premiums weren’t worth the long term exposure?” added another.

What happened to Schilling is yet another chilling example of how Chinese Communist social credit score system is being implemented in America.

In August 2019, the Communist state bragged about how it had prevented 2.5 million “discredited entities” from purchasing plane tickets and 90,000 people from buying high speed train tickets in the month of July alone.

Oh the car insurance thing happened here in Ontario Canada 13 years ago now. Here we called it 'no fault' insurance. Meaning, everyone had to get their own coverage because no one would be at fault in an accident, regardless. This means that in an accident, fault is not an issue as far as property damage goes, your own insurance pays. So if I am hit and I only have minimum coverage, too bad for me.

In this law we also have a limited damages suit. This means that body parts have a predetermined value - $200 for a baby finger, $2000 for a thumb - like that.

And since insurance is protected by law, the cost of insurance has almost doubled, compared to other jurisdictions without 'no fault' terminology. The official number from five years ago was 15%, which most believed to be very low by half. Today it is far worse.

My own insurance went from $78 before the change to $128 immediately after. Then when I said no, they upped it to $200 as a bonus. And when I still said no it went to 300, 400, 500, 600...and finally ended up at $700 per month! And I was out of insurance for life. Then after two massive fines that had been $400, but was changed after 'no fault' to $6,500!, and $13,000 in debt, I gave up driving forever.

But we had our communist take-over early here in Canada, so it doesn't even matter anymore.
