    Default What is spirituality?

I've been thinking about things lately or I could say questioning things, its just been about what spirituality is. Well to me at least, I've seen it as a way to control people's will if it was ever used against them and you can bet that this has been done before. But now some people are realizing this if they already haven't that without spirituality what are you really? Is it any different than not identifying yourself with a religion or type of science you know. Because when you pull yourself out of that you start to see things from the other side. And this is where all the majic starts to happen.

I do not really believe in "spirituality" as people make it out some kind of eastern experience that started with the "Buddha" and now with "Tibet" being the center piece of this theology.

For me spirituality today is another form of religion to control people. An example of this is the falun da sect in China.

So I do not accept spirituality as most people accept it. I cannot accept any form of organized theology.

Whatever spiritual enlightenment is shared with others and starts appealing will soon become organised.

Must it at that point be rejected?

There was an Asian man, maybe some sort of chi-master, I don't know his name; chanced upon it when YT-ing, he showed to a team of Western scientists what the chi in his body enabled him to do. Electrically spectacular results. In this research at one point he makes a mistake and (minor) injures one of the researchers. That's when he starts questioning whether opening up was such a good idea. Apparently he disappeared after that, and was never to be seen again. If anyone can fill in the blanks here, would be great.

What do you mean with sharing and keeping things for yourself at the same time? If you only share theoretical knowledge (and not your practical experience) you can't prevent the formation of followers.

Sometimes when I read extraordinary experiences it is difficult to see whether someone is telling it to sincerely share and have listeners explore deeper depths of life or whether someone is trying to be lauded for having abilities others don't have. But that is judging,...so I do listen and see if there's anything that makes sense. In my experience the coffee is usually tastier than the pouch it came in.

^ arguably the most important question one could ask one's self. leads to the question of "the meaning of life". if you lived your entire life without asking what you in the end wanted to achieve you just might find yourself on your death bed realizing that you just wasted your time here; you lived a life without import.

Andrew Bartzis and others have stated that there are multiple universes in the omniverse. the original creator conceived a thought and that thought is continuously manifested via an infinite extrapolation. these extrapolations can be grossly divided into planets, stars, galaxies, universes. then, there are actually two omniverses; physical, spiritual. even higher dimensional entities ( ed's) don't know much about the other omniverse; the spiritual worlds, universes.

many sage spiritual advisers even today are telling us that we are children of gaia (mother earth). out of love and a desire to experiment she made us in her image. we are her chosen ones. we are drops from her ocean. we are capable of god like creation abilities once we escape the slavery matrix imposed upon us here on earth for the last 20,000 or so years.

raja yoga teaches hat we descended and now it's our time to return. the return is called ascension. in raja yoga it's called "getting realized". realization brings control, control brings results; yoga ramacharaka.

I do sahaj marg yoga. it is actually one level above raja yoga. babuji's task is to assist the spiritual development of mankind. he is our spiritual servant if we desire it. free will. can quit anytime. the spiritual development is achieved via pranahuiti; directing high octane spiritual energy into our chakra system for spiritual cleaning and then empowerment.

spiritual gurus liberate. anti-spiritual gurus enslave.

there are spiritual laws. these have not been completely revealed to man but the golden rule ( not the one where 'those with the gold make the rules' ) and the term 'righteous' are very close to the "bulls eye".

we are gods is the message. we are each in different stages of spiritual development in our own personal development. a little different take than what our reptilian would be masters would have us believe.

    interesting stuff, no?

Its easier to say what spirituality is not.
Nothing to do with being a saint or having positive qualities like kindness or compassion though these may happen as a side effect of "progress"
Its not about saving the world, being the good Samaritan

It is solely the endeavour to find the True Self, Self realisation--call it what you will.

The truly enlightened are in service to mankind, just by being what they are, that can manifest through giving talks, writing books or just leading a seemingly normal life. The Divine works through their form--the persona remains but the person is realised to be an illusion.
The person never existed except as an illusion.

There is only "One without a second"

Not saying Im right but that is the understanding of the moment.

Spirituality is the knowledge of Spirit.
At the beginning of ones path one may first perceive it as separate from physical life, gradually it is seen that all is Spirit.
When this is seen it becomes redundant and illogical to call yourself spiritual since
all you see is various perceptions thereof and nothing apart from it.

Religion is the evil controlling/brainwashing type. Spirituality is when you work with the spirit body to achieve some kind of result in improving your experience of life. But the holy grail of life, the meaning of life and a path to immortality is called life or living life. The life, the truth and the way is a way to describe the one and only path that exists. Unfortunately, when you stray from that path and engage practices or beliefs that you think is it you only slow down your progress.

Its just a determined search for truth & reality...

I think most of it is 'scientific externality'

Spirituality is self discovery and the way of realizing this is through detachment. Detachment from materiality, detachment from thoughts, detachment from identity and detachment from occurrences. Detachment is spiritual when one realizes the law of impermanence and the law of unity. Controlling the mind to be detached is not spiritual. Spirituality brings a certain bliss, freedom and wisdom to it.

I would say that when spirituality begins to dwell in you, your view of the world changes, I would say gradually, but not continuously. It is our experiences which are indicators of this awareness which goes so far as to modify its forms.
True spirituality is lived on a daily basis, taking an example from the life of a nun in the service of God, but without losing contact with daily life. Each gesture is the work of God and it will nourish thoughts, intentions and life in community and who will not be better than an ordinary person in appearance, but from the inside.
