Seems like McKenna could see the future unfolding before he died and was just forewaring us:

'"Culture is a plot against the expansion of consciousness. And this plot prosecutes its goals through a limiting of language. Language is the battleground over which the fight will take place. Because what we cannot say, we cannot communicate. And, by "say", I mean dance, paint, sing, meme. What we cannot say, we cannot communicate, and what motivates me to talk to groups like this is the belief that we do not have centuries of gently unfolding time ahead of us in which to gently tease apart the threads of the human endeavor and create a bright new world. That’s not our circumstance. This is a fire in a madhouse. We want to catalyze consciousness."
    - Terence McKenna'

I definitely think that there is a process that has been long underway gaining momentum since its very beginning. It is the process that formed the planet, that called life out of the ocean, that called higher animals out of the lower animals, that called humanity out of the primates, and that called history out of tribal, sacral, timeless existence. What it is leading toward is some kind of transcendental, transformative flowing together of everything that is beyond our language system. It is the umbilicus of being; it is where it’s all tied together, and therefore it’s very hard to describe.
I think that all of our science and religion and history are patterns thrown across a limited set of dimensions by the hyperdimensional presence of a certain object at the end of history toward which we are moving and toward which we are being drawn. I think that most things about human beings are mysterious and that what is happening to us is mysterious.'
    Terence McKenna

    When I forgot to love
    The ghost of regret whispered
    incessantly into my ear,
Reminding me of all I had said or might have said,
    Of everything hated and misunderstood
And how my place and purpose in the world
Was unwanted, and how wishes were unfulfillable.
    When I forgot to love
A strange twitch entered my sinews,
Contracting my face into a stern expression,
Tightening around my eyes and forehead
And pulling everything in towards the centre,
Like a hole in my belly and a band in my ribcage
    Sinking like a stone, endlessly.
    When I forgot to love
Each and every encounter felt draining.
A burden or requirement to explain
    Some kind of endless apology
For something that ought or ought not to be there.
And so I hid my true self away,
My true heart, that sees and knows itself
In each pair of eyes and every encounter it meets
And in its place sulked a half-life of resentment.
    When I forgot to love
The main thing I forgot, was that even in all this
Fighting with myself, pushing and pulling
    Desperately longing to be held,
    To understand and be understood,
    Twisted up in bitterness,
    Even in all this
    Love did not forget me.
In the play of sunlight on water,
In the bright open eyes of an infant,
The wagging tail of a dog,
The grateful patient stranger on the street,
    The kind friend listening intently,
    The woodburner glowing golden,
The nourishing hearty meal just eaten,
    Love said to me
"Welcome back. I'm here for you
In all these things and more”.
    Will Softmore

“We have a tendency to think in terms of doing and not in terms of being. We think that when we are not doing anything, we are wasting our time. But that is not true. Our time is first of all for us to be. To be what? To be alive, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be loving. And that is what the world needs most.”

Rivers do not drink their own water, trees do not eat their own fruit, the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature.

We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is, life is good when you are happy but it is even better when others are happy because of you.
