A different kind of gift given here, something gorgeous and extremely moving. Alice Barker, aged 102, is shown a film of herself dancing in the 1930s and 40s.... for the very first time.

The video is presented on a split screen, recorded as she watches her younger self. It has 38 million views.

I wonder how quickly the world would take on a brighter appearance if they broadcast this every day to replace the doom and gloom of our news media channels. I swear everyone would begin to feel better about life.

PS: This IS the way the world is, all the time. The negative behaviour is always a minority but it is continually shoved in our faces.

Icare, thank you so much for bumping this thread. It was a timely reminder to never lose faith in humanity. I have lost count of how many times my throat constricted going through this thread including breaking down twice.

I really do hope more people find this thread over the next few days, it deserves a sticky to leave it at the top all the time.

    Dear Ewan,

I feel exactly the same as you.

Yes, that's what humanity is really like. T teared up a few times too. I spent the best part of last night going through google to find good examples and amazingly that was the first night in months that I went to bed without feeling weary. "They" do everything they can to make us forget who we really are and what we really are like. The so-called news programmes play a big part in "their" show. Every now and then a heart-warming story is thrown in in order to keep people watching.

I believe people are getting fed up with the constant barrage of negativity aimed at all of us, simply because a lot of what is reported goes against human nature. In my parents` house we all watched the news every night and in recent months my mother has stopped watching the news telling me she is fed up with all the wars and violence and fear that is being spread.

I see something similar happening with the press. Before the internet became a big thing, just about every household used to buy a newspaper every day. Now that number is rapidly declining and in order to survive those papers must now make changes to keep their once loyal customers. In my area the biggest paper has stopped using the Ukraine conflict in their front page news because they have realized people are getting fed up with the subject of war.

Going through all those examples of people's inherent goodness I posted last night, I realized that I would have a few examples of my own I could mention. I have received kindness so many times and I have also been kind to people in unexpected ways as well. I believe we all find examples if we think about it.

I also agree with you about the sticky. Remembering what humanity is really like will help lift our spirits.

Forgiveness is one of the things we are meant to learn here in our incarnations on earth. I consider it one of the toughest lessons, but it is one of the qualities that makes us humane.

Some people cannot stop holding onto grudges, some people struggle with it but can forgive.
There are several examples of people who have been able to forgive the murderer of a loved one.

Let's not forget we have all been culprits in some of our incarnations and really need to look at the big picture.

Just watch the face of this serial killer when the father of one of his victims forgives him. He can bear the hatred of those wishing him a slow and painful death and hell after his own death, but the forgiveness of that one father reduces him to tears. To me that shows there is still something in him that can be redeemed, there is still hope for his soul. And there are still people in this world that take the message we were given about 2000 years ago seriously.

    Love this thread

Adding my part here - so many examples of love and humanity. But also genius. This is my current favorite artist. It is not just his incredible exquisite voice - he has a voice range of SEVEN octaves - but also the joy and the beauty he draws from his audience as they respond to his angelic voice.

There is so much purity, joy, beauty, innocence and love in these videos. They make me happy whenever I watch them. I think it helps considerably that both Dimash and his audience are not in a culture that celebrates depravity, but rather beauty and divinity. (Dimash Qudaibergen is from Kazakhstan).

This one brings tears to my eyes - SOS - A call from the soul of an earthling in distress (literally translated)

And my other favorite of his - this one is more playful and again I LOVE the responses from his beautiful audience:

And here he is, 5 years later, still looking the same, and despite the world fame and the wealth he has attained, he is still as pure and unspoiled as ever. A combination of growing up in a more advanced culture than the West, with what I also sense - he is a very wise, highly evolved, spiritually mature Being.

This last one showcases that mind blowing 7 octave range and is also very beautiful:

Thank you for this thread - humanity is so awesome when not interfered with

Juliette of the Herbs - Juliette de Baïracli Levy

Quote Juliette de Bairacli Levy (1912-2009) was a pioneer of holistic animal health, a prolific writer, and a proud Gypsy, a term she considered to mean person of the earth. Deemed one of the grandmothers of contemporary herbalism, de Bairacli Levy’s life, practices, and legacy of teachings fully embody the natural rhythms of the earth and all its inhabitants, with special nods to animals and young children. Worldly in her perspective and global in her sphere of influence, de Bairacli Levy’s spirit flourishes today through her 14 books, approaches to “natural rearing” of pets, and diverse body of work promoting earth-based approaches to everyday challenges. Born to an Egyptian mother and a Turkish father of Jewish heritage in Manchester, England, de Bairacli Levy was raised in a considerably wealthy family. She attended some of the best schools in England, eventually settling on veterinary programs at the University of Manchester and the University of Liverpool. Her time studying veterinary medicine was short-lived as she found her values of natural health and kindness to all living beings in fundamental opposition to those of the universities, and would not take part in the cruel animal research.
