Letters from the Big Man (2011)

This is a contemplative, spiritual movie about Sasquatch / Bigfoot & nature, which I really enjoyed.

One viewer's comment (from IMDB) which sums it up for me...

    https://www.imdb.com/review/rw2947169/?ref_=tt_urv

Quite possibly the best Sasquatch movie out there.

    22 January 2014

Quote This is honestly one of the best movies involving Sasquatch that I have ever had the pleasure of watching. The acting is great (the director made an excellent choice casting Lily Rabe for the lead), the locations being filmed are beautiful and the Sasquatch is a breath of fresh air. It is about time that they portray this creature as something other than a blurry shadow or blood covered angry monster stalking campers out in the woods. Seriously, the special (practical) effects on this costume are amazing. In some shots, it almost feels like they actually filmed the real thing instead of an actor in a suit. You sit there thinking, "I wouldn't doubt that this is what it would really look like if I stumbled upon one of these creatures."

I really hope that more people have the opportunity to see this fantastic piece of work and spread the word to other movie lovers after they are done watching. This is a very relaxing and calming movie that will stick with you long after you view it and may even change your mind about whether you believe in Sasquatch or not.

One By One, the independent 2014 small budget film from first time director Diane Miller and produced by Boiling Frog Films.

It covers much of the subject matter often discussed on Avalon. For example Plato gets an honourable mention and 9/11 is focussed on. Curiously enough the film also ends with a sudden lockdown, martial law and global societal reset.... predominantly as a result of a depopulation agenda featuring bioweapons and vaccines!

You'd imagine most of the tiny budget would have been spent on Rik Mayall's fee. At the time he was the top comedy actor of the BBC and died (?) a mere six months after the release of the film at only 56 years of age. It is effectively an infomentary film to warn about the parasites and wake up more zombies with Mayall as the big draw.

This is where things quite possibly go off piste in the worst possible way. I won't dwell on that. Personally I was very fond of Mayall's work from the early days onwards and just want the guy to rest in peace now.

But I will give Avalonians not in the know about Mayall's work a brief summary and you'll clearly see that, give or take, he knew the score.

He was a rare and precocious jewel in the BBC comedy crown for decades. He did big tv shows and Hollywood movies. The New Statesman was all about serious UK government and politics dressed up in Mayall's anarchic comedy. Believe Nothing was about Mayall's character (a turbocharged deviant and tarted up Oxford scholar) who joins a shadowy organisation called The Council who secretly run the world.

Much like my other favourite awakening genre film (La Belle Verte) this movie is kinda hard to find online and links don't tend to stay active for long.

In truther terms this film was written halfway between the 2012 London Olympics (weirdest flippin' opening ceremony of all time) and the Brexit vote/ Trump's presidential election victory. The scriptwriter, like La Belle Verte, was obviously very clued up in Avalon type matters as so many were written in to the film.

    Primer (2004)

    Primer (2004) Official Trailer(1:37)

Four friends / fledgling entrepreneurs, knowing that there’s something bigger and more innovative than the different error-checking devices they’ve built, wrestle over their new invention.

It's about A magic time travel box, but more than that the coolest time machine in all existing fiction.
"Abe: Look, everything we're putting into that box becomes un-grounded, and I don't mean grounded like to the earth, I mean, not tethered. I mean, we're blocking whatever keeps it moving forward, and so they flip-flop.Inside the box it's like a street - both ends are cul-de-sacs.I mean, this isn't frame dragging or wormhole magic, this is basic Mechanics and Heat 101.
Aaron: This is not Mechanics and Heat.
    * Still, Aaron: Are you hungry? I haven't eaten since later this afternoon. "

I like this movie because I can always re-watch it.

    The 11th Green (2020)

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10151656/?ref_=tt_urv

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/11th-Green-...sr=1-1-catcorr

This is well worth a watch for anyone interested in the ongoing alien visitation disclosure process.

It's an intelligent movie retelling Ike's meeting with off-world being(s), but also fills in detail on the subsequent cover up by the mil/ind complex and the reasons for this. The death of US Sec of Defence James Forrestal (it's dedicated to his memory) figures too, and also the failure of successive presidents to disclose & their reasons for doing so (with a particular focus on Obama), and much else surrounding these events.

Why this should be released at this time would seem to me obvious in that it's another small step in 'normalizing' the idea of alien life in the population at large, leading up to disclosure in the not too distant future (the movie actually discusses disclosure & how it's to be achieved throughout).

This is mostly, however, a serious look at the possible/probable events that've gotten us to the position we're in now regarding all of this.

The IMDB reviews are split on it, but I found the movie really excellent, piecing together the narrative very well as it does, and blending in many of the significant related events since WW11, all with great direction & acting.

Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the topic...

    'A Night at the Garden':
'In 1939, 20,000 Americans rallied in New York’s Madison Square Garden to celebrate the rise of Nazism – an event largely forgotten from American history. A NIGHT AT THE GARDEN, made entirely from archival footage filmed that night, transports audiences to this chilling gathering and shines a light on the power of demagoguery and anti-Semitism in the United States.

A NIGHT AT THE GARDEN was directed and edited by Marshall Curry and was supported and released by Field of Vision. The film was nominated for a 2019 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short; it was also an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival and was part of a special screening and panel discussion at the New York Film Festival. It was released on 22 Alamo Theater screens across the country and at The IFC Center in NYC.'

There is another one I would like to share, it is a Bhutanese movie and it is packed with life lessons.

    Travellers and Magicians from 2003

This is a Japanese movie made in Burma in 1956 after the second war, the movie is about a Japanese soldier goes missing after the Japaneses surrendered, the platoon decided to go search for the missing soldier to find out a monk playing an harp.
The main language in the movie is Japanese with parts in Burmese and what sounds like Pali. This movies is available in torrents.

Interesting end, I mean it is sad and beautiful at the same time.

The Burmese Harp (aka Harp of Burma), the original name is ビルマの竪琴 (romanized translation Biruma no Tategoto)

    The Gods Must be Crazy.

When I went to see it in a theater in San Francisco in 1982, the very final scene was so inspiring and unexpected the entire audience rose to their feet and cheered.

I was so delighted, I went to see it a second time the very next evening. And again, at the final scene, the audience all stood and cheered. To this day, it remains one of my favorite films of all time.

    The way home

A young boy is left to stay with his grandmother in the forests of Korea with no electricity, running water and other mod cons. He is not a happy chappy and gives his poor grandmother hell. This is such a touching film. The woman who plays the grandmother had not only never acted before, she had never seen a film

From acclaimed actress Robin Wright comes her directorial debut LAND, the poignant story of one woman’s search for meaning in the vast and harsh American wilderness. Edee (Wright), in the aftermath of an unfathomable event, finds herself unable to stay connected to the world she once knew and in the face of that uncertainty, retreats to the magnificent, but unforgiving, wilds of the Rockies. After a local hunter (Demián Bichir) brings her back from the brink of death, she must find a way to live again.

I watched a movie that I really like "Paterson" with Adam Driver from 2016.

Quote Slowly but surely, the gentleness of Jim Jarmusch’s lovely new film steals up on you. It has an almost miraculous innocence. I can’t remember when I last saw a movie whose adult characters had so much simple, unassuming goodness, goodness that breaks everything in the modern culture rulebook by going unironised and unpunished. And Adam Driver’s face is something to fall in love with. An Easter Island statue reborn as a sensitive, delicate boy.
I agree. Here it is on youtube.

"The River" is Rumer Godden’s beautiful tribute to India and childhood, made into a film by the great French Director Jean Renoir.

There is another one I would like to share, it is a Bhutanese movie and it is packed with life lessons.

    Travellers and Magicians from 2003

Looked for this but it is prohibitively expensive due to its apparent rareness.

Saw the Elephant Man (1980) with a friend - brought him to tears. Quite a touching movie.

Groundhog Day is something I'll keep recommending - topic of reincarnation. And it's never too late to change
