    This is an English-language Ecuadorian article, but it's relevant for everyone. El Niño is creating havoc in weather systems all round the world.
    Here in Ecuador, we have two seasons, wet and dry. 'Dry' = 'summer', lasting from June—December.
    Summer this year started off gray, cloudy and wet, but now (as predicted) it's shifted to being clear, dry and sunny every day, leading to water shortage problems in some areas. It's gorgeous right now. But it's understood that the pendulum could swing back to the other extreme at any time, which is what the article is about.
    ~~~
    Ecuador Agency warns El Niño continues to strengthen, says catastrophic flooding and drought are imminent
    The International Center for Research on the El Niño Phenomenon (CIIFEN) says conditions continue to favor a strong El Niño event and urges Ecuador coastal communities to complete disaster preparations.
    The 1997-1998 El Niño devastated large areas of the Manabi Province coast.
    Earlier this week, the government announced the yellow alert had been upgraded to an orange alert, meaning that preparations should now be in place for the arrival of El Niño.
    In its September 20 bulletin, Ciifen said there has been “significant strengthening of El Niño conditions” and further strengthening is expected. It added that flooding rains could arrive on the coast and coastal lowlands sooner than previously expected. “We are advising all interests in the danger zone to prepare their response to the developing circumstances,” it said.
    The reason for the quickening development, Ciifen says, is rising ocean temperatures. “Temperatures are 2.8 degrees Celsius above normal and this corresponds to conditions that preceded the 1997-1998 and 1972-1973 El Niños, both of which brought catastrophic flooding to Ecuador and Peru,” Ciifen Director Yolanda González said.
    González said that heavy rains could arrive in November and continue through February of 2024.
    According to González, coastal areas up to 1,000 meters in elevation should expect flooding rains while areas from 1,000 meters to 1,500 meters could experience a mix of heavy rains and drought. In the sierra, from 1,500 meters elevation upward, residents can expect drought conditions that could affect farming and electric power generation.
    Vid from the belly of the beast, taken by a robot surface boat. Makes me think of what the sail powered ships of yore were subject to. My lineage, K.f & D.m (.f and .m are my shorthand for female and male, and I won’t say their names because of privacy concerns, since their story is in a book) came across the North Atlantic in such a ship.
    Europe is in Danger! Campi Flegrei Supervolcano in Italy is About to Erupt
    "🌋 Did you know that there is an active supervolcano in the middle of Europe? Right in its crater is located the picturesque Italian town of Pozzuoli with a population of 80,000 people.
    The Campi Flegrei supervolcano, together with the adjacent islands, forms a huge volcanic complex. For 80 thousand years of its existence, there were only two super-eruptions: about 36,000 and about 12,000 years ago. And it seems that in the near future, the supervolcano is also ready to erupt!
    📽️ In this video, watch more about:
    🔹 What's happening to the volcano right now?
    🔹 What is bradyseism and what are the dangers of this process?
    🔹 What is the reason for the start of the Campi Flegrei activation?
    🔹 What mechanism triggers the eruption of a supervolcano?
    Campi Flegrei is the volcano of the cycle, and its explosion, like a detonator, will set off a chain of explosions of all other volcanoes. It will be a catastrophe not only for Italy but for the whole of humanity.
    This looks more like some anti-Israel group using weather manipulation technology.
    link
    Quote It was a day like no other in Tel Aviv, Israel. The sun, usually a faithful companion to the city’s ever-bustling streets, was nowhere to be seen. The skies were painted an ominous grey, and the air held a chill that seemed to seep into the bones of the city’s inhabitants. It was not just another winter day; it was a day when the heavens opened up, and water, in biblical proportions, fell upon the city, turning familiar streets into uncharted rivers.
    An Unfolding Crisis
    The torrential rainfall proved too much for the city’s infrastructure to handle. Floodwaters coursed through the streets, turning avenues into rivers and plazas into lakes. Cars, usually masters of the road, were reduced to helpless vessels, bobbing along the waterlogged streets. Videos circulating on social media painted a surreal picture, with the city’s landmarks barely recognizable under the deluge. The heart of Israel’s economy, Tel Aviv was brought to its knees, its pulse slowed to a worrying crawl.
    "The recent catastrophic natural disasters in India has stunned the world.
    Extremely heavy monsoon rains triggered massive flash flooding and landslides, causing tremendous destruction across large parts of the country.
    This monster natural disasters washed away millions of homes, businesses, and vehicles.
    Sadly, hundreds of lives were also lost in the devastating flash floods and mudslides.
    Scientists say climate change is increasing the frequency and severity of many types of natural disasters.
    As the planet warms, weather patterns are disrupted, leading to more extreme rainfall capable of causing devastating natural disasters like this one.
    India's vulnerability to these natural disasters is increased by its climate, mountainous terrain in many regions, and large population living in flood-prone areas.
    This terrible tragedy underscores the urgent need to improve natural disasters preparedness and response.
    Climate change is expected to keep worsening natural disasters around the world.
    All nations must make resilience to these natural disasters a top priority.
    Improved early warning systems, flood control infrastructure, and public education can help mitigate loss of life and destruction when the next inevitable natural disasters strikes.
    The world grieves with India as the country works to recover and rebuild from this monster natural disasters.
    We can only hope global leaders take the growing threat of climate change-fueled natural disasters seriously.
    More must be done to protect people worldwide from the heartbreak and devastation of natural disasters like this one.
    Our thoughts are with the victims and rescuers responding to this horrific natural disasters in India.
    Storm Babet: Car Swept Away by Current in Cork
    Storm Babet hit Ireland on Wednesday after sweeping in from the Atlantic, bringing with it heavy rainfall and causing extensive flooding in parts of the country. Members of the Irish Defence Forces were deployed in the town of Midleton, in the south of Ireland, where more than 100 properties were flooded. Cork County Council said more than a month’s worth of rain had fallen in the space of 24 hours, leading to unprecedented flooding, saturated land and high river levels across the county.
    Looks like mama earth is pissed off looking at the videos from Italy and china.my buddy last week had his boat anchored off the coast in Virginia and went in on his smaller boat to go pick up another couple. When he came back his boat was grounded on shore from 12 ft waves that kicked up out of no where. He was double anchored in an approved anchor area and had checked the weather prior to departing with an all calm forecast. It totaled his 45 ft catamaran.
