    I loved techno.
I still do but it's just not the same.
Without car sized speakers registering on a seismograph somewhere it seems the brain wave trancefiction isn't as easy to summon.
Add to this the losses of personal friends and close aquaintinces and electronic music starts to summon a sad nostalgia.

This song really epitomizes what I'm saying although not techno it's artistic sentiment sends me into mourning for the optimistic attempt at a cultural shift and the doing so without a defining religious sentiment.
For in the nineties this wasn't just a choice in taste, it was a lifestyle.
Doomed as it was I mourn the individuals who were destroyed by the drugs and the friendships unable to exist outside the confines of that scene.

A little doodle of a mix I put together a couple of Sundays ago. It's abrupt start isn't intended in the way it hits the listener. It was an idea for a section of a longer mix project that's still only a folder full of audio material I'm messing around with looking for directions I could go with it.

I came for norman's mix, but I relate to a lot of what you said; in London 2000+ for a few years I mixed around the emerging fluffy scene, spawned from whirlygig which had been doing that forever already anyway. One group of friends transcended the shallow side although I don't have so much in common with them now days, and I wouldn't go so far as donating a kidney like some of them (that happened) but I would go a long way for them despite lack of social connections today. Absolute hedonists back in the day, and the grimy side on the edges, yeah not so great. So people who care deeply in the long haul are the exception. I don't regret my hedonism but it's a precarious way of life. Tightrope walking is probably safer.

Oh nice tune you made norman

errr . . this might turn into a conversational thread for a while if we feel so inclined

Mark Devlin can sometimes get on my nerves and sometimes he's a good listen, This is one I enjoyed at lot. It probably has something to do with the podcast he's guesting on. The host partners up with another guy to produce a podcast called 'The Occult Rejects' that I've been listening to sporadically for a couple of years and they've done some good revelatory episodes. Both have been early dropouts of occult fraternities having smelt the rat, in both cases. One from the OTO and one from The Golden Dawn.

    SHOW NOTES

Here’s the playback of my appearance on N.Y. Patriot’s livestream broadcast, where we had a highly worthwhile chat, getting into some aspects of the music industry and its connection to “elite” agendas that I rarely talk about on other shows.

Topics covered include: Acid House/ Rave culture and electronic dance music, the agendas it’s pushed and its approximation of spiritual components, the foundations laid for it through 70s synth music, the regression of rap/ hip-hop, Transhumanism and AI, the evolution of Pink Floyd, the 60s counter-culture in both California and London, predictive programming, and so much more.

Just listening to this from my profile page, lol... a favorite, it's okay to be human

    Quote
What is special about carbon? Quite a lot, in fact.

Each carbon atom can form four strong bonds, much stronger bonds than the bonds formed by its chemical neighbor silicon.

These bonds allow an extraordinary variety of long-chain molecules, notebly proteins, lipids, sugars and DNA

Silicon can’t manage anything like this wealth of chemistry.

What’s more there are not gaseous silicon oxides to compare with carbon dioxide.

I imagine CO2 as a kind of a Lego brick. It can be plucked from the air and added one carbon at a time to other molecules.

Silicon oxides in contrast … well, you try building with sand.

Silicon or other elements might be amenable to use by a higher intelligence such as ourselves, but it is hard to see how life could have bootstrapped itself from the bottom up using silicon.

Apart from being much better, carbon is also much more abundant across the universe

This is off a breakbeat mix I shared in a different thread.

    Freestylers, Happiness.

Six minutes of bounce with that lovely little organ percussiony type hook.

The genesis of this tune comes from a tune by PKA and another by Ultraviolet....... I was given this by Aston at a gig we did in 98 in Jersey. Aston Harvey & Matt Cantor are the Freestylers, we did a fair few gigs together back in the late 90's........ Great days, great days.
