No, no actual Russian commitment to the planes that I know of. Just the request being made.

I believe the pro-Saudi president resigned, and then tried to come back into power. Parts of the army support him, and other parts are on the Houthi side. It's difficult to know much because they do have a media site, Al Masirah, but it is only in Arabic, and google translate butchers it quite severely.

This article states that Egypt has already provided some boats: https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/ne...itary-hardware They aren't getting on with the Saudis very well--they had originally promised to help for a year until around this time, but cut it short and then got shafted by Aramco for some fuel.

Russia is also perhaps leaning towards taking some action in Libya.

So the Yemeni state does have an English page:

    https://www.sabanews.net/en/

The other one is the Ansarullah mouthpiece.

A little more Egyptian tension is that they just voided a deal which gave islands to Saudi Arabia just last April. These islands are on the upper part of the Red Sea where the inlet leads to Israel: https://www.almasdarnews.com/article...and-not-saudi/

So they say missiles can now reach the province of the Saudi capital, Riyadh:

    https://www.sabanews.net/en/news455347.htm

This is right after the U. S. S. Cole (sound familiar?) goes there to cover the Saudi ships, another one of which just got wasted, and Israel is perhaps a bit nervous their presence in Eritrea is also in range.

Again, they strike a military base, not a civilian neighborhood.

Quote Rep. Barbara Lee: “We’ve helped create and worsen the world’s greatest, largest humanitarian crisis: 22.2 million Yemenis—that’s 75% of the population—needs humanitarian assistance. At least 85,000 children under the age of 5—85,000—have died from war-related hunger and disease.”

Here is a new short video of what happened in Jeddah. It is not exactly small. Riyadh and two more provinces were also attacked.

We haven't said much about this in a while. It is hardly any different. Several fuel tankers have recently been seized, i. e. a military embargo against UN-inspected vessels, a type of inhumanitarian blockade exists.

    Let's see how this works:

Saudi Arabia started physically attacking Yemen in 2015 in order to keep Hadi in power, versus the popular resistance movements. As it turns out, Hadi has abdicated his power to a council and:

Saudi Arabia welcomed Hadi’s decision, urging the presidential council to start negotiations with Yemen’s popular Ansarullah resistance movement.

The kingdom also said it would arrange $3 billion of support to Yemen’s economy, $2 billion would come from Riyadh and the rest from the UAE, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The war has stopped well shy of all of its goals, despite killing tens of thousands of Yemenis and turning entire Yemen into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

A two-month truce is being attempted under those terms. Let's tell ourselves the same story as every day all these years:

Saudis are about the worst military one can find.

Is this the cost to do business in China? I am not sure. But it is not mere words if the guy has relinquished the theoretical office. Maybe some royal person really ate an incoming projectile really fast. The Saudi brain is not considered capable of comment, so, we don't ask about the nothing they like us to know.
