Document turns up showing CIA's plans to penetrate and influence academia

There's no doubt about it: three letter agencies like the NSA, FBI and CIA and the ones we don't yet know about are full of great people who want nothing but the best for their fellow human beings. People join these agencies because they have good hearts, and want to see the world thrive in a state of peace, equality, abundance and freedom. That being said, the "disastrous rise of misplaced power" to which President Eisenhower referred when referencing the military industrial complex, has taken a hold of these agencies, which now comprise what's known as the Deep State. The Deep State is a covert network of powerful and influential people who continue to manipulate, lie, and deceive the public for their own interests.

Oh, by the way, it's safe to assume that the Deep State also includes, as mentioned above, the agencies we don't yet know about. We know this from looking at history: The National Security Agency (NSA) was founded in 1952, its existence was hidden until the mid 1960s; Another great example is the National Reconnaissance Office, which was founded in 1960 but remained completely secret for three decades.

Several presidents and politicians have also referenced this secret government, which doesn't seem to be so secret anymore. That being said, it's still important to reference given the fact that the average Joe still might consider the secret government to be a mere conspiracy theory. It's a shame that anything associated with secrecy seems to garner an instant conspiracy response, especially when secrecy is rampant in our world, with "National Security" constantly being used to justify it.

But times are changing, thanks to efforts by a number of researchers, academics, journalists, whistleblowers and more, and information is rapidly spreading. So much so that internet censorship is on the rise, and platforms like Google and Facebook are now actually censoring information and deciding what is real and fake for the people, instead of letting people decide for themselves. For example, Google had to recently admit that their contractors suppress information, like the info provided by alternative media, not mainstream media.
"The problem of fake news isn't solved by hoping for a referee, but rather because we as citizens, we as users of these services, help each other. We talk and we share and we point out what is fake. We point out what is true. The answer to bad speech is not censorship, the answer to bad speech is more speech. We have to exercise and spread the idea that critical thinking matters, now more than ever, given the fact that lies seem to be getting more popular." - Edward Snowden (source)
But still, information is continuously pouring out for those who are sparked by curiosity, and now even more interesting information has emerged in the form of declassified documents, which can now be found in the national archives, or on the agencies own website, whichever agency it is.

In this case, it's the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the document in question, written up in 1984, shows how the agency had definite plans to infiltrate academia and change/influence the curriculum, specifically journalism.

As Emma Best from Muckrock reports, recently Tweeted by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, memos from the CIA Inspector General's (IG) office reveal the agencies perspective on the press and how to handle them. It's from 1984, approximately three decades prior to when the Agency declared Wikileaks a hostile non-state intelligence service. It shows how the CIA viewed the media the same way.

Are organizations like Wikileaks really a threat to National Security? Or are they simply a threat to a small group of powerful people who make millions, billions, or even trillions of dollars via government secrecy? Are they a threat to the global national security agenda that is taking place, disguised under the guise of globalization? Was president Vladimir Putin right when he said "imaginary" and "mythical" threats are being used to impose the Deep State's way on the entire world? Perhaps truth and transparency are a threat yes, but not to national security. If we continue to ignore these questions, the national security state will continue to be heightened, one in which our rights are constantly violated, with our right to privacy being one of many great examples.

Several weeks prior, CIA Director Casey had asked the IG to weigh in on officer Eloise Page's paper on unauthorized disclosure. The IG passed the task onto someone on his staff, who produced a four page SECRET memo for IG James Taylor, who passed it on to Director Casey. The IG specifically endorsed the proposal for a program where the Agency would intervene with journalism schools.

    See for yourself:

You can view the full document here.

In the document, the press are also viewed as "principal villains:"
"To the Inspector General's office, the reason that the press were the "principal villains" was simple: "absolute power corrupts absolutely" and "the power of the media to publish in this country is nearly absolute." As a result of the media's "absolute power,' argued the Agency that had been involved in mind control attempts, illegal surveillance, tampering in foreign elections and dozens of assassinations, assassination attempts and coups, they had been corrupted absolutely. The member of the IG's staff then suggested that they compare the media to the "opposition," a reference to hostile intelligence services. This could be backed up by citing "precise parallels in methods and results, if not in motivations, between the media's attempts to penetrate us and the opposition's attempts to do the same." - Emma Best
The document then goes on to list some proposed "do's and don'ts," as well as expresses the belief that "a sanitized list of foolish media disclosures that have cost the country or individuals substantially." But again, as discussed above, have they really cost the citizenry, or have they simply cost some powerful interests?

The document also urges the Director to "remember" that "the organization has official contacts with influential people outside the Community - people in leadership posts in this society; academia and the media concluded; and remember that we undoubtedly have in the organization many who know such people unofficially and who could help provide access if needed."

    Quite revealing isn't it?

Another document, relating to the same one discussed above shows an initiative to "call in media leaders," whatever that means, and a system for screen disclosures by the media, and also mentions "centralized control of all press contacts," as well as "control of press access."

It's quite ironic that this document is from 1984. George Orwell's 1984, a classic book depicting a populace ruled by a political regime that persecutes individualism and independent critical thinking as "thoughtcrimes" that must be enforced by the "thought police" was also released that year. This party seeks power above all, and, through the propagandist Ministry of Truth, presents the people with their version of truth. Sound familiar? This is basically one of many tools used by the Deep State today. Sometimes, it seems that our thoughts, feelings and emotions are given to us, and we are so occupied with our lives that when certain individuals of groups become concerned with what is happening in the world, they come across enormous amounts of secrecy.

How many pages of documents does the US government classify every year? Some historians peg it at half a billion pages per year. For any journalist or researcher interested in the history of the country, how are they expected to really know anything when so much of it remains hidden from public view?

American Author, and former State Department employee once said, "no matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what the government is actually doing is worse than you imagine." (Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower)

It's unfortunate that the CIA's control over media and academia is used today not for defense and freedom, but to deceive and push forth agendas in that which the public is completely unaware of. A great quote from Mark Twain comes to mind here:
"The statesman will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them: and thus he will by and by convince himself the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception." - Mark Twain (source)
After 1984, The CIA's Relationship With Media & Academia

It's interesting to glance at the information/documents above, and then look at another from 1991.

A declassified document from the CIA archives in the form of a letter from a CIA task force addressed to the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency details the close relationship that exists between the CIA and mainstream media and academia.

The document states that the CIA task force "now has relationships with reporters from every major wire service, newspaper, news weekly, and television network in the nation," and that "this has helped us turn some 'intelligence failure' stories into 'intelligence success stories,' and has contributed to the accuracy of countless others." Furthermore, it explains how the agency has "persuaded reporters to postpone, change, hold, or even scrap stories that could have adversely affected national security interests or jeopardized sources and methods."

The document not only outlines the CIA's role in media, but also the entire entertainment industry in general, lending further weight to revelations offered by celebrities like Jim Carrey. He appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying that, "For years now, talk show hosts, people on television, people in sitcoms have been hired by the government to throw you off the tracks, to distract you, to make you laugh and stuff like that, make you happy and docile so you don't know what's really going on." Perhaps he wasn't joking?

After all, it's no secret that the agency maintains a close relationship with the entertainment industry.

Perception control? Movies used as propaganda? Something to think about.

It's good to see an effort from those within mainstream media create awareness about this as well.

Dr. Udo Ulfkotte, a prominent German journalist and editor for more than two decades,is one example. He blew the whistle on public television, stating that he was forced to publish the works of intelligence agencies under his own name and that noncompliance with these orders would result in him losing his job. (source)

Sharyl Attkisson and Amber Lyon, both well-known mainstream media reporters and journalists, have also exposed funded movements by political, corporate, and other special interests, and have revealed that they are routinely paid by the US government as well as foreign governments to selectively report and distort information on certain events. (source)(source)

Let's not forget about Operation Mockingbird, a CIA-based initiative to control mainstream media.

James F. Tracy is a PhD from the University of Iowa. A former professor of communications at Boca Raton, Florida Atlantic University, he is also one of many who reports on this type of thing. He emphasizes:
"Since the end of World War Two the Central Intelligence Agency has been a major force in US and foreign news media, exerting considerable influence over what the public sees, hears and reads on a regular basis. CIA publicists and journalists alike will assert they have few, if any, relationships, yet the seldom acknowledged history of their intimate collaboration indicates a far different story-indeed, one that media historians are reluctant to examine."
He published a great article going into more detail about the close relationship between the agency and the media:

'Freedom of Speech Killed by Those Who Created It' - Sputnik, RT Editor-in-Chief

Sputnik, and RT’s editor-in-chief, commenting on the FBI interrogation of Sputnik former employee Andrew Feinberg, said that if an investigation against the agency is being held, Russia can do the same in response.

Earlier it was reported that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) questioned former Sputnik employee Andrew Feinberg as part of the investigation of reports that the agency allegedly acted as a Russian propaganda agency in violation of the US Foreign Agents Act (FARA).

At the same time, the portal claimed that the FBI also received access to Sputnik's working correspondence of Feinberg and another former employee of the agency's Washington bureau, Joseph John Fionda.

"There is no doubt that Russia will respond to the FBI investigation in the same way and will check the work of American journalists in Moscow. It's disgusting. Freedom of speech is turning in its grave. It was killed by those who created it," Margarita Simonyan told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, a bill was submitted to the House of Representatives of the US Congress to amend requirements for registration of foreign agents under the FARA. The project involves the allocation of additional powers to the US Department of Justice, which includes the FBI, to identify and prosecute organizations that "illegally" try to influence the political processes in the United States. The FBI itself did not respond to the official inquiry on whether it conducted an investigation against the agency within two days, Mindia Gavasheli, editor-in-chief of the Sputnik Bureau in Washington DC, said.

According to Gavasheli, "the request was sent on Saturday to the National Security Division of the US Justice Department to confirm or deny information that an investigation is underway in relation to Sputnik." Gavasheli specified that he indicated the willingness to answer FBI's questions, if any arise.

"There had been no reply yet. Unfortunately, the media reports that an investigation is being conducted against us are not surprising, since the atmosphere of hysteria in relation to everything that belongs to Russia has been created in the country, and everything with the word 'Russian' is seen through prism of spy mania. We are journalists, and mostly Americans work here. We believe that any assumption that we are engaged in anything other than journalism is an absolute lie and fabrication," Gavasheli pointed out.

new Evidence surfaced that the Berlin Terror-Attack of Anis Amri was coordinated and supported by the german LKA ( Landes Kriminal Amt ):

According to media reports, the V-man in the Salafist group, with whom Anis Amri had close contact, had persuaded Anis to do the attack

    Quote The Stimulator VP-01
Now it is much more bizzarer. The latest news about the Amri case suggests that the attack, not only not hindered, but possibly prompted or instigated by a V-man - an approach known from the FBI work or attributed to a suspicious genre , which is usually dismissed as "conspiracy theories" in the common sense - a little ground will be kept in these crazy times ...
This contradicts the statement from researches of the rbb and the Berliner Morgenpost, according to which "an important reference person of the terrorist Anis Amri in the militant Islamistenszene was a V-man of the Landeskriminalamt North Rhine-Westphalia" and particularly the claim that these searches "prove. ..) that the so-called trust person VP-01 should have instigated Islamists early on in attacks in Germany, according to a witness.

The direct connection to the attack is not documented, therefore, that V-man Anis Amri has instigated the Christmas market on the road to the murder of a truck. This accusation is relativized in the rbb report by "possibly":
According to the investigation, the investigators, who have been attacked by the Landeskriminalamt Nordrhein-Westfalen (LKA) on the terrorist Anis Amri, have encouraged various members of the IS-based Abu-Walaa group and perhaps also Amri himself.
    rbb24
There is talk of "inciting". "The V-man is said to have incited the group around Amri to attacks," it says in the heading to the article. And the facts? From the investigations, which the investigators could clearly see, it can be seen that a member of the group had already said shortly after the attack against the LKA that the trust person with the abbreviation VP-01 "repeatedly stated" that " to commit attacks in Germany ".

"Come on, you have no passport anyway, do something here, do a stop"
To this end, a former supporter of the Abu-Walaa group is quoted, who told the journalist that VP-01 was even "the most radical". The man had said several times to members of the group: "Come, you have no passport anyway, do something here, make a stop."
The group members are described as not very interested from the perspective of this source. They wanted to go to Syria to fight and not to talk about attacks in Germany (Abu Waala was indeed a kind of travel agency to the IS). But, according to the source of the rbb report, VP-01 has repeatedly said to members of the group, "Come, you do not have a passport anyway, do something here, do a stroke."
In addition, LKA's "trustworthy person" had frequently traveled with Amri and drove him to his accommodation. "
    The source
The LKA North Rhine-Westphalia, which is apparently connected to the Abu-Walaa group and is reported as a "witness" in the investigation, suggests that the statements of the man "are not correct". They were made with the intention of "distracting from their own criminal acts".

Confirmations of the behavior of the V-man
According to journalists, three attorneys would, in principle, confirm the allegations against the VP-01 trustworthy person independently: the Düsseldorf prosecutor John Pausch, the Frankfurt attorney Ali Aydin and the lawyer Michael Murat Sertsöz.
Pausch confirms that the said V-man should have shown a "promoting behavior" against his client. It is not clear from the rbb report whether and how the client, who was convicted of preparing an explosive article, is involved in the Amri case.
Aydin, on the basis of his own research and several sources, confirms a statement by the V-man to several persons from the Abu Walaa group: "Let us kill these unbelievers, we need good men, so that we can commit attacks in Germany." This makes it clear that the V-man has "incited" to attacks. It was now necessary to determine whether there was a direct impact of VP-01 on Amri with regard to the Berlin attack.
Sertsöz confirms that his client also reported that the V-man had repeatedly asked him to get a gun and carry out 'actions'. "As Mikail described the behavior of VP-01, the latter acted as an agent provocateur in the service of the state," Sertsöz is reproduced. According to rbb, the client of the Bonn criminal lawyer was recently convicted of the spread of terrorist propaganda. The extent to which he relates specifically to the case of Anis Amri is not mentioned
The LKA North Rhine-Westphalia did not receive any information with reference to current court proceedings and the investigation committee in the case of Amri, according to the research group of the Rundfunks Berlin Brandenburg and the Berliner Morgenpost.

"They" have infiltrated everything & fully intend to take over the internet... and freedom of speech. Part of that plan is to ban alternative websites like Avalon as "they" cannot presently totally control anyone who goes against "their" false narrative.

    When you look at why & how the CIA was formed (and by whom, hint: Nazi 3rd Reich intelligence operatives imported under Paperclip & Allen Dulles), it's pretty easy to see what's happening here (and why the CIA in its present form, should be "disbanded" exactly as JFK said;

“splinter(ed) the C.I.A. in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”

Former FEC Chair Demands Internet "Disinformation" Crackdown In Major Threat To Free Speech

    by Tyler Durden
    Oct 19, 2017 2:05 PM

Authored by Jonathan Turley via JonathanTurley.org,

In one of the most reckless and chilling attacks on free speech, the former chair of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and Berkeley lecturer Ann Ravel is pushing for a federal crackdown on “disinformation” on the Internet - a term that she conspicuously fails to concretely define.

Ravel is pushing a proposal that she laid out in a a paper co-author with Abby K. Wood, an associate professor at the University of Southern California, and Irina Dykhne, a student at USC Gould School of Law. To combat “fake news,” Ravel and her co-authors would undermine the use of the Internet as a forum for free speech.

The regulation would include the targeting of people who share stories deemed fake or disinformation by government regulators. The irony is that such figures are decrying Russian interference with our system and responding by curtailing free speech - something Vladimir Putin would certainly applaud.

In addition to new rules on paid ads, Ravel wants fake news to be regulated under her proposal titled Fool Me Once: The Case for Government Regulation of ‘Fake News.” If adopted, a “social media user” would be flagged for sharing anything deemed false by regulators:

“after a social media user clicks ‘share’ on a disputed item (if the platforms do not remove them and only label them as disputed), government can require that the user be reminded of the definition of libel against a public figure. Libel of public figures requires ‘actual malice,’ defined as knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth.

Sharing an item that has been flagged as untrue might trigger liability under libel laws.”

Without clearly defining “disinformation,” Ravel would give bureaucrats the power to label postings as false and harass those who share such information. Of course, this would also involve a massive databanks of collections ads and discussions by the government.

The authors of the proposal see greater government regulation as the solution to what they describe as “informational deficits” in the largely free exchanges of the Internet. There is a far dosage of doublespeak in the article. Rather than refer to the new regulation as guaranteeing greater government control, the authors insist that “government regulations . . . improve transparency.” Rather than talk of government controls over speech, the authors talk about the government “nudging” otherwise ignorant readers and commentators. Here is the worrisome section:

Government regulations to help voters avoid spreading disinformation

Educate social media users. Social media users can unintentionally spread disinformation when they interact with it in their newsfeeds. Depending on their security settings, their entire online social network can see items that they interact with (by “liking” or commenting), even if they are expressing their opposition to the content. Social media users should not interact with disinformation in their feeds at all (aside from flagging it for review by third party fact checkers). Government should require platforms to regularly remind social media users about not interacting with disinformation.

Similarly, after a social media user clicks “share” on a disputed item (if the platforms do not remove them and only label them as disputed), government can require that the user be reminded of the definition of libel against a public figure. Libel of public figures requires “actual malice”, defined as knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth. Sharing an item that has been flagged as untrue might trigger liability under libel laws.

Nudge social media users to not view disputed content. Lawmakers should require platforms to provide an opt-in (or, more weakly, opt-out) system for viewing disputed content and periodically remind users of their options. We think the courts should uphold this as a constitutional regulation of political speech, but we acknowledge that it is a closer question than the more straightforward disclosure regulations above. The most analogous cases are to commercial speech cases (AdChoices and Do Not Call Registry, which was upheld). Commercial speech receives less protection than political speech.

I have been writing about the threat to free speech coming increasingly from the left, including Democratic politicians. The implications of such controls are being dismissed in the pursuit of new specters of “fake news” or “microaggressions” or “disinformation.” The result has been a comprehensive assault on free speech from college campuses to the Internet to social media. What is particularly worrisome is the targeting of the Internet, which remains the single greatest advancement of free speech of our generation. Not surprisingly, governments see the Internet as a threat while others seeks to control its message.

What Ravel and her co-authors are suggesting is a need to label certain views as “false” while giving not-so-subtle threats of legal action for those who share such information. Once the non-threatening language of “nudges” and “transparency” are stripped away, the proposal’s true meaning is laid bare as a potentially radical change in government regulation over free speech and association.

'Put the Boot Into Corbyn': UK Journo Accidentally Exposes Paper Editorial Bias

An editor at the UK newspaper paper The Daily Express told a journalist to take anti-Labour stance - instructions that were mistakenly emailed to the Party's press office.

The online newsite BuzzFeed on November 15 published an email provided by the British Labour Party purportedly showing instructions from an editorial figure at the Murdoch-owned newspaper The Daily Express that a journalist make clear to the readers that "Labour is NOT the solution" to the British economy's debt problems.

The journalist then mistakenly forwarded the instructions on to the Labour Party's press office while seeking comment on the issue of the UK's increasing debt-burden.

The instructions from the unknown editor directed the journalist to, "Put the boot into Corbyn (who wants to plunge us into even DEEPER debt)."

Jeremy Corbyn's supporters have long claimed that he has received hostile treatment from the British media, in particular from publications owned by Australian-born US media mogul Rupert Murdoch who owns publications accounting for at least 89.7 percent of daily circulation in the UK, according to a 2015 report on concentration of ownership.

Don't think it deserved its own thread so I tagged it on here as I sincerely believe that the whole politically correct theme is agenda driven..

I majored in Journalism, back in college at USL in Lafayette, Louisiana. I realized very quickly that journalism was yellow and I excused myself. Writing was all I ever really wanted to do, but I wasn't going to sell out and therefore wasn't going to be allowed in the "boy's club". So, I said screw them and started writing letters when I objected to some nitwiited bull I ran across. No wonder I have always been poor.

    God Bless the USA.

Swiss Press Club gives floor to critics of White Helmets despite censorship demands from Reporters without Borders

    RT
    Thu, 30 Nov 2017 20:30 UTC

A member of the Civil Defence, also known as the 'White Helmets' © Abdalrhman Ismail / Reuters

The Western media can't admit they were wrong in their portrayal of the White Helmets, Guy Mettan, head of the Swiss Press Club, told RT, explaining why Reporters Without Borders demanded to cancel the club's press conference featuring critics of the controversial Syrian group.
"It was very surprising and very disappointing to see a journalists' association asking for a kind of censorship," Mettan told RT. He commented that Reporters Without Borders (RSF[Reporters Sans Frontières]) are "supposed to protect the freedom of speech and the freedom of the media... and they just wrote to me and to all the committee members of the Swiss Press Club to ask for cancelling the press conference about the White Helmets, which is completely in contradiction with their charter; with their goal."
The Swiss Press Club head said that he replied to RSF, specifying that their demands were in violation of the country's principal law. "We're here in Switzerland, a country, which is democratic; which believes in the freedom of the press. It's written in our Constitution," he said, adding that in the letter he was "asking them (RSF) to respect the freedom of speech and the Swiss Constitution."

According to Mettan, the Swiss Press Club is "accustomed to get pressures from everywhere in the world and mainly from dictatorial countries - like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and others - because they don't accept that we give the floor to political opponents or to human rights' defenders." However, it was "the first time in 20 years" when such calls were coming from a journalists' association, he said.

"But I never was tempted to cancel [the press conference] because I never cancel any press conference, whatever the demands for doing it," the Swiss Press Club head said. The event, entitled, "They don't care about us: About White Helmets true agenda" was held in Geneva on Tuesday as scheduled and saw Independent journalist Vanessa Beeley, who has done extensive reporting from inside Syria, French journalist Richard Labeviere and Marcello Ferrada de Noli, chair of Swedish Doctors for Human Rights (SWEDHR), speaking on the topic.

In their letter, Reporters Without Borders "attacked the speakers" and presented the topic of the event as "pro-Russian propaganda; propaganda in favor of [Syrian President Bashar] Assad," Mettan said. The issue was "disturbing" to RSF [Reporters Sans Frontières] because "the Western media have described the White Helmets as a neutral, fully independent humanitarian organization, which isn't exactly the case... Now they can't admit they were wrong and that the reality isn't exactly as what they've written or said in the past years," he explained.

A documentary describing the White Helmets as heroes and saviors in Syria won an Oscar in February. But witnesses have accused the controversial group of links with terrorists, filming fake reports of their rescue work, engaging in looting and other criminal activities.

Reporters Without Borders also warned that the press conference on the White Helmets could damage the Swiss Press Club's image, but Mettan turned the notion down. "In my view, what's damaging my image is to succumb to the censorship demands, because the real goal of the Press Club is to give the floor to anybody, any organization, which wishes to express its concerns," he said.

The journalist stressed that over the years he invited to the Swiss Press Club "many people, criticizing Russia - for instance, [opposition figure and former chess champion] Garry Kasparov; Mrs Nemtsova [the wife of murdered opposition figure, Boris Nemtsov]. But I have also the right to accept people, who are supporting Russia. That's a goal of every press club and not politically correct association."

Mettan also said that [he] received "dozens of messages from all around the world - from Sweden, the US, UK, Australia, Canada," supporting the Swiss Press Club for "staying firm" to the ideals of free speech and hosting the press conference about the White Helmets, regardless of the pressure.

BUT, I didn't know the details or the extent of it until recently.

Brian Ross receives suspension without pay for reporting 'fake news' about Trump

    Jeff Poor Breitbart
    Sun, 03 Dec 2017 23:37 UTC

    Late Saturday,
ABC News announced it was suspending network investigative reporter Brian Ross four weeks without pay for an inaccurate report that aired Friday.

The report claimed Donald Trump had directed his eventual National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to contact the Russians while running for president as a candidate.

Ross followed up his reporting later that day with a "clarification," claiming it was not while Trump was a candidate, but as president-elect.

    Statement as follows:
We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday. The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process. As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online.

It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience -- these are our core principles. We fell far short of that yesterday. Effective immediately, Brian Ross will be suspended for four weeks without pay.

Congratulations to @ABC News for suspending Brian Ross for his horrendously inaccurate and dishonest report on the Russia, Russia, Russia Witch Hunt. More Networks and “papers” should do the same with their Fake News!
