One pillar of their overall agenda is to socialize their losses but privatize all their profits.
What's interesting to me is that Andrew Jackson accused the central bankers of doing the same thing when he vetoed the rechartering of the US bank in the 1830's.

Quote Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank.

"The oldest trick in the book" seems to be an apt phrase here.

More devlopments on this story that should bring Project Veritas into question too:

I don't think this invalidates the Project Veritas investigation into the "Anti Fascist Coalition" BUT, it does show that it is tainted, that Project Veritas investigator Alison Maas may have used offers to bribe to get these people to say what they said. Project Veritas is the same group of people that investigated the ACORN voter registration program seven years ago, and I am sure there would be many different conclusions here as to whether or not that investigation was good journalism or highly questionable in it's ethics.

So nice to see an elegant peaceful swearing in, parade and walk down Pennsylvannia Avenue without disruption. All the hype and the naysayers with their fake news drummed up fell flat. There were approx 100 "protestors" on K avenue and the massive police, trooper force was on it. Honestly, the energy wave for a beautiful day, despite the rain was in order. Another reminder example not to buy into the hype.

From what I have read from alternative news sources, there have been LOTS of oil spills which were disastrous, especially to the communities in which they occured but were covered up and mostly unreported by the MSM.
And worse, the oil companies responsible did not pay for the cleanup for the most part--the taxpayers did.
That's the corruption I'm talking about. Both political parties have been responsible for that. They are not enforcing reasonable regulations or holding companies responsible because career politicians are only experts in taking bribes.

Quote If as much capital and labor and research were invested in alternative forms of energy, they COULD be implemented over night.
The problem is that the investors don't want to sacrifice their ill gotten gains.
It wouldn't be a sacrifice if there was actually a chance to develop a good replacement for oil. If someone could invest in the development of a clean, cheap and safe replacement to oil, and get it to market, they'd be an instant billionaire.

You have to ask yourself, why is no one able to make money developing this kind of technology? And the answer is, because the government regulates the hell out of energy technology development, just like Tillerson said. It's hard for anyone in any kind of business to make money when the government is up your butt 24/7 with rules and regulations and demanding fees and permits and all of this kind of stuff, which is intentionally set up to make alternative energy startups fail in this case.

GM started making electric cars years ago, and the relative few that they manufactured as a test run were immensely popular and proved that there was a serious market for them. What happened? GM scrapped them anyway, destroyed them and didn't build any more. Automakers are too tied into the oil industry. It's a miracle that Tesla Motors has been as successful as they have been so far, and Trump meeting directly with the owner of that company is a good sign of what's to come as far as regulating alternative energy goes.
The blocking of alternative and advanced energy technologies is 70+ years now. We have made strides in the last 15 years to break through on lines of national security. It's not the government blocking it - it's the oil cartel and the fact that Citizens United made bribery legal and members of congress have to fundraise to sit in office which means many serve the money and not the people. If Trump is truly for America being the best, he will help innovation and deployment of the renewable technologies now creating jobs and sustainable energy systems. But considering his appointees and the bills going through Congress, the intention is to sell off our national parks and resources to the highest bidder, bottom out the dollar so foreign governments can buy land and mining rights, deregulate and destroy the EPA so there is no barrier to dumping poison in our water and food, etc. Big winners are Exxon and Gazprom, Russia Oil now gets its merger. US and Russia currency will be on a par. That's not a good thing btw if you have dollars.

As for Standing Rock, the oil is already in the pipeline and they are shooting real bullets at the water protectors.

He has to balance short-term problems with long-term problems. If you labeled all oil as evil, banned all oil companies and ordered everyone to buy an electric car, it goes without saying that our entire economy would come to a standstill over night. It would be lights out and back to the stone age.

The reason he is ramping up domestic energy production, and Tillerson understands this perfectly if you listen to interviews he's done in the past, is to get us out of our artificial dependence upon Middle Eastern oil. Being dependent on their oil ties our national security to Middle Eastern politics. The easiest solution to that is to replace the oil they are shipping us with more oil from the US.

You have to also understand that the EPA has become extremely politicized and used as a tool by corporate and foreign interests to push manufacturers out of the US to the benefit of our "free trade" partners. Deregulation of the EPA isn't part of some evil agenda to destroy the environment, and Trump isn't taking kickbacks from anyone. It's about cutting out the regulations that force businesses out. Trump has said he's going to cut those regulations but he's also said at the same time that we need clean air and water. They aren't mutually exclusive goals in this case.

Under George W. Bush it was a different case altogether.
