Man confused by moon...

A strange title, I admit. Not the "confused" part, but the "man". I was a bit confused by the moon myself once, but I figured it out aged seven by reading peter & jane type books about space. I still have one of those books today.

The moon is still very mysterious, that's true -- there are many unanswered questions. But I feel as a species we've got the basics down, and I think they've been down for a few thousands years now. But this "man" doesn't agree. With his "man" senses and "man" intellect, and seemingly otherwise balanced and sane (and not on drugs), he lacks even a basic grasp of what was basic to me aged seven.

I'm starting to wonder if some part of our population aren't walk-ins from the vegetable kingdom (although, to be fair to my cabbages that's a rather mean comparison).

Because the flat earth, or "domed earth" with moon and sun as a projection is still very much alive. No amount of arguing seems to have any effect on them. Nothing ever gets through. Not logic, not evidence, not proof.

I first thought of posting this video in the thread titled Why humans are unintelligent: it's all about belief. It seemed to apply and very much so.

Observations claimed by flat earthers to debunk the globe often involve viewing distant objects, but they can be difficult to replicate due to various factors such as location, variables, and mathematics. A simpler observation to understand the Earth's shape involves seeing the bottoms of airplanes lit by the sun during sunrise or sunset. The reflection of sunlight off the underside of airplanes is evidence of the Earth's curvature, as it wouldn't be possible on a flat Earth. *Minor correction - when talking about stall speeds I gave a figure of 250knots, a few people have pointed out this is indicated airspeed rather than true airspeed, the true stall airspeed is actually more than 400knots which makes Jeran's claim even more impossible
