Default 474 Arrested in California Child Trafficking Ring

    Reported yesterday, February 1:

Quote 474 Arrested, 28 Sexually Exploited Children Rescued During Statewide Human Trafficking Operation: LASD

Hundreds of people were arrested and dozens of sexually exploited children and adult victims were rescued across California during a statewide operation to combat human trafficking, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday.

More than 30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces, including the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, participated in the third annual “Operation Reclaim and Rebuild” enforcement operation, according to a sheriff’s news release.

The statewide operation took place over the three-day period between last Thursday and Saturday.

In total, 474 arrests were made, including 142 males on solicitation charges, and 36 males on suspicion of pimping, according to figures provided by the Sheriff’s Department.

Additionally, 28 commercially and sexually exploited children and 27 adult victims were rescued.

“You are worthy of more. And we will work tirelessly with our partners … to provide you services and help you rebuild your life,” Sheriff Jim McDonnell said, addressing the victims during a news conference on Tuesday.

The minors who were recovered during the operation were being cared for by various children and family services agencies across the state, according to sheriff’s officials. The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking and the Saving Innocence organization were coordinating efforts to help victims in L.A. County.

“Operation Reclaim and Rebuild focused on rescuing victims of sexual slavery and human trafficking, providing victims with much-needed services, identifying and arresting their captors, seeking successful prosecutions, and disrupting the demand for vulnerable victims by targeting their customers,” the release stated.

“Police agencies and other trafficking task forces throughout our state joined in the enforcement operation to send the clear message that California law enforcement shares a unified mandate: Human trafficking must not be tolerated in our state!”

Word from people who have been receiving (repeatedly accurate) insider leaks from the past several months are saying that the Trump administration is going to empower law enforcement at all levels to aggressively pursue these kinds of criminal enterprises.

This comes just after it was also announced that Anthony Weiner may also be facing serious criminal charges soon. Which will inevitably drag in Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton, since he had classified state department emails on his laptop. Huma is a Saudi spy and Hillary committed treason by selling the Saudis access through her, to all of the State Department's inner workings. That alone is a charge punishable by death, let alone everything else on Weiner's laptop and what it means.

Where was that announcement made? Can you provide a link? Thanks. Now if only DC law enforcement would follow LA's example!

It says police announced the operation Tuesday, Jan. 31st, and that the actual operation was last Thursday to Saturday, so over the course of three days they executed all of these arrests. The article above is dated Feb. 1st, ie yesterday.

Yes, I think other states are going to be next. Already Tennessee and Missouri have been running similar operations over the last few months, and I only know of those two by chance. I would imagine a lot is going on right now, not only in the US but internationally. The big Norway bust was last fall and George Webb thinks that Haiti will be encouraged to start investigating the Clinton Foundation trafficking next.

What exactly is loathsome and revolting: that "30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces, including the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, participated in the third annual "Operation Reclaim and Rebuild" enforcement operation..." conducted the investigations leading to 474 arrests and the rescue and release of dozens of slaves?

Oh, that was a separate article:

Quote Prosecutors Weigh Child-Pornography Charges Against Anthony Weiner

Former congressman is being investigated for sexually explicit exchanges he allegedly had with a 15-year-old girl

    By Erica Orden and
    Nicole Hong
    Jan. 31, 2017 3:32 p.m. ET

Federal prosecutors are weighing bringing child-pornography charges against former Rep. Anthony Weiner over sexually explicit exchanges he allegedly had with a 15-year-old girl, according to people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Weiner, a New York Democrat, is being investigated by the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which seized his electronic devices, including a laptop and a cellphone, as part of the probe.

Officials initiated the investigation last fall, after the Daily Mail in the U.K. reported that Mr. Weiner had exchanged sexually explicit messages and photos with the girl.

In recent weeks, according to some of the people familiar with the matter, attorneys for Mr. Weiner have had discussions with federal prosecutors in Manhattan in hopes of dissuading them from bringing charges, or at least from bringing the most serious one: production of child pornography, which carries a 15-year mandatory minimum prison sentence upon conviction.

These types of discussions can indicate both sides are trying to reach an agreement in which the defendant pleads guilty in exchange for a less-severe charge.

Mr. Weiner could face the production charge, some of the people familiar with the case say, because he allegedly solicited explicit images from the teenager.

Prosecutors also are weighing other charges, including receipt of child pornography, for which conviction carries a five-year mandatory minimum, and possession of child pornography, which has no mandatory minimum. Legal experts say receipt and possession encompass virtually the same misconduct, but the two charges are a way to give prosecutors more discretion in their charging decisions.

Prosecutors could decide not to bring any charges.

It isn’t known what images prosecutors have found in the course of the investigation. Federal child pornography laws are broadly written, and lawyers who have defended people charged with child pornography say certain types of images could receive lighter treatment under the law, such as photos of nude minors who aren’t engaging in sexually explicit activity.

In determining child-pornography charges, prosecutors often take into account a range of contextual evidence, including whether a person specifically sought out a minor, whether the incident fits a pattern of similar behavior with minors and whether the person knew the individual was a minor.

Mr. Weiner has said he might have been the victim of a hoax. The Daily Mail reported in September that Mr. Weiner had provided the newspaper copies of two emails the teenager sent him that he said “raised questions about her claims.”

Mr. Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011, after the first reports that he had lewd exchanges with women online. He attempted a political resurrection with a New York City mayoral bid in 2013, but his career in politics was ultimately extinguished after a fresh round of sexually explicit messages he had exchanged with another woman emerged in the midst of his campaign.

The high-profile criminal probe into Mr. Weiner upended the final days of the 2016 presidential race. Less than two weeks before election day, FBI Director James Comey disclosed that FBI agents had discovered a laptop with emails that might be related to the probe of a private email server used by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state. The emails turned out to have been on a laptop used by Mr. Weiner and his now-estranged wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Comey ultimately announced, two days before the election, that the search of the laptop had turned up nothing to change investigators’ opinions that Mrs. Clinton shouldn’t be charged in the email investigation.

So that's the Wall Street Journal.

When the feds have final meetings like this with people before deciding to press charges, it's partly to make sure they haven't missed anything. At this point I doubt they have missed much. A lot of it has been leaked to the public already.

As far as the 650,000 emails tying in Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin, that is in hundreds of articles over the last few months, so there's plenty online to read about that. The 650,000 emails recovered from Anthony Weiner's laptop have already been acknowledged by federal investigators to include classified State Department emails that Anthony Weiner should have never possessed and could have only possessed because of his wife's role as aid to Clinton. Again, Huma Abedin is a Saudi national. The Saudis have paid millions and millions of dollars into the Clinton Foundation, and it appears to have been for this kind of access. Congress is also still investigating all of this, and the NYPD on the state level.

When people say "Ohhh that can't be true! Do you know how many people would have to be involved and not say anything??"

Well here's just one trafficking ring along, across California, that resulted in almost 500 people being arrested.

"Re-read your post and what you quoted in it where there is only a mention of "30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces, including the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, participated in the third annual "Operation Reclaim and Rebuild" enforcement operation...", hence my question since your comment could only apply to that sentence...

I am not a mind reader nor such should be assumed of any forum reader. My question was asking for a clarification since this is a text communication that cannot rely on assumptions of what was meant beside what's written. "

    1. Looking at my post and what you posted here I see that you omitted something... "according to a sheriff's news release". With the "news release" being a link to the article in question. The fact that you left this off in your reply to me I find curious. Was that intentional? Now I'm questioning your character and integrity as a moderator. Having your integrity questioned is not a good thing, huh?

    2. I quoted your post, you have linked to the article. Although, I do understand the challenges in text only communication (which is the bane of Trump) however, in cases when ambiguity causes misunderstanding where one's moral and ethic values are concerned, I suggest that you are more careful with your clarification efforts in the future
